Rancho de Los Arcos
Lippert tells the inside story of eight Mexican migrant workers at a farm that practices progressive organic and environmentally friendly farming. She interweaves their stories, from the perilous journey across the border to their hardships and joys of living together on the farm, with an analysis of immigration law and current policies. Lippert also presents the other side of the story, chronicling the struggle of small farms to compete in a cutthroat-price market.

Congressional Record Tribute: Lippert, Keith W.
Lippert received his master's degrees in management and in operations research from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 1994Mr. ALLEN. Mr. President, I rise today to honor a lifetime commitment of service to the United States of America, our Defense Department and our great U.S. Navy by a true patriot, VADM Keith W. Lippert, Supply Corps, U.S. Navy. On September 1, 2006, Vice Admiral Lippert will retire after 37years and 8 months of dedicated and exceptionally distinguished service in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his retirement, Vice Admiral Lippert will relinquish command as the 14th Director of the Defense Logistics Agency, DLA, and I would note that he will retire as our longest serving DLA Director having spent the last 5 years at the helm of a Defense agency that has become increasingly important to the Nation. The Admiral’s departure is indeed a loss for our nation since over these last 5 years, he has made remarkable accomplishments and I would highlight a few of them here.Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited
H3O2- bridging in a Pt(IV) nucleobase complex leading to infinite chains: trans,trans,trans-[Pt(NH3)(2)-(1-MeU)(2)(H3O2)](n)(NO3)(n)center dot(4H(2)O)(n) (1-MeU=1-methyluracilate)
The X-ray crystal structure determination of a Pt(IV) nucleobase complex, trans,trans,trans-[Pt(NH3)(2)(1-MeU)(2)(H3O2)](n)(NO3)(n) .(4H(2)O)(n) (1-MeU = 1-methyluracilate-N3) is reported. The compound, obtained upon recrystallization of trans,trans,trans-[Pt(NH3)(2)(1-MeUH)(2)(OH)(2)](NO3)(2) (1-MeUH = neutral 1-methyluracil-N3) from water, crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P-1 with two independent cations in the unit cell: a = 7.3023(8), b = 10.1470(20), c = 13.4220(20) Angstrom, alpha = 78.800(17), beta = 83.580(9), gamma = 78.930(10)degrees, V = 954.6(3) Angstrom(3), Z = 2. Description of its solid state structure as a H2O2- compound rather than a genuine mixed H2O,OH- complex is based on the presence of very short H bonds of 2.450(6) Angstrom between the oxygens of axial aqua and hydroxo ligands of adjacent Pt(IV) cations, leading to infinite chains
