Megaphyllum loebli (Strasser, 1974) Chromatoiulus (Cyphobrachyiulus) loebli Strasser, 1974: 274 –277 and 290, Figs 70–73. Chromatoiulus loebli: Strasser 1976: 613 –614; Ceuca 1992: 426. Megaphyllum loebli: Enghoff & Kime 2009. Material examined. HNHM: Greece: 13, 1Ƥ, 2009 / 64, Arkadia county, Korfes, gorge with mixed forest (Platanus and conifers), S of the village, 885m, N 38 °05.099’ E 22 °02.036’, 0 7.04. 2009, leg. LD, JK & DM. Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: Peloponnese, gorge in Kalavrita (type locality) (Strasser 1974). World distribution. Endemic to the Peloponnese, Greece. Remarks. First data since the original description of the species, collected close to the type locality. It supposedly inhabits higher regions of the Peloponnese (Strasser 1974). Although not fitting perfectly into the subgenus (i.e. male second leg-pair without a distinct hump), Strasser suggested putting it into Cyphobrachyiulus Verhoeff, 1900 according to gonopods (for revision of the subgenus see Strasser 1974, 1976).Published as part of Lazányi, Eszter, Vagalinski, Boyan & Korsós, Zoltán, 2012, The millipede genus Megaphyllum Verhoeff, 1894 in the Balkan Peninsula, with description of new species (Myriapoda: Diplopoda: Julida: Julidae), pp. 1-47 in Zootaxa 3228 on page 16, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21487

Dorypetalum bulgaricum Strasser, 1966 Figs 23–24 Dorypetalum bulgaricum Strasser, 1966, p. 349, figs 21 & 22 Remarks Strasser (1966) described the species from the town of Ivailovgrad in the Eastern Rhodope Mts., southeastern Bulgaria and later (Strasser 1973) recorded it also from the village of Kostino in the same region. Stoev (2004) tentatively referred to this species and adult female and a juvenile collected near the village of Mezek situated only 30 km from the type locality. Recently, more dorypetalines were collected in other regions of the country, unfortunately without males to allow their proper identification.Published as part of Stoev, Pavel & Enghoff, Henrik, 2006, A review of the millipede genus Dorypetalum Verhoeff, 1900 (Diplopoda: Callipodida: Dorypetalidae), pp. 29-43 in Zootaxa 1254 on page 36, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17305

    40. Orphanoiulus dinapolii Strasser, 1960 Distribution IT-SI (Palermo Province). Habitat Found in the Molara Cave at Cozzo Santa Croce. Remarks Although it was recorded from three caves near Palermo by Strasser (1970), Strasser (1960) pointed out in his description that this pigmented animal is in no way adapted to a cavernicolous existence.Published as part of Kime, Richard Desmond & Enghoff, Henrik, 2017, Atlas of European millipedes 2: Order Julida (Class Diplopoda), pp. 1-299 in European Journal of Taxonomy 346 on page 33, DOI: 10.5852/ejt.2017.346, http://zenodo.org/record/386652

Megaphyllum taygeti (Strasser, 1976) Chromatoiulus taygeti Strasser, 1976: 612 –614, Figs 49–51. Chromatoiulus taygeti: Ceuca 1992: 425. Megaphyllum taygeti: Felesaki et al. 2010: 360; Enghoff & Kime 2009. Material examined. NMNH: Greece: Crete Island, Psiloritis Mt, 1600–2000m, 11.V. 1984, leg. P. Beron, det. J.–P. Mauriès. Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: Peloponnesе, Lakonia, 12km W from Sparta, 1000–1300m (type locality) (Strasser 1976); Crete Island, unspecified locality (Felesaki et al. 2010). World distribution. Endemic to the island of Crete and Peloponnese, Greece. Remarks. The only Megaphyllum species connecting the southern Peloponnese to Crete. Strasser described M. taygeti on the basis of a single male individual and did not assign it to any of the existing subgenera because of its unique gonopod structure (Strasser 1976). Investigation of vulvae and non-gonopodal structures strengthens an outstanding status of the species, maybe also differentiating it from the whole genus, but further investigations are necessary.Published as part of Lazányi, Eszter, Vagalinski, Boyan & Korsós, Zoltán, 2012, The millipede genus Megaphyllum Verhoeff, 1894 in the Balkan Peninsula, with description of new species (Myriapoda: Diplopoda: Julida: Julidae), pp. 1-47 in Zootaxa 3228 on page 25, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21487

Reprint of "The Border Event in the Everyday: Hope and Constraints in the Lives of Young Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers in Turkey"

This article addresses the everyday lives of young male migrants in a state care facility for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in Istanbul, Turkey. We focus on how the EU-Turkey Statement, which came into force in March 2016, affected the young people’s options and hopes and how they responded to the resultant strengthening of border control. Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork in Istanbul and the Aegean area between 2015 and 2016 we show how this agreement became enmeshed with the young people’s life trajectories during a period of increasing authoritarianism in Turkey. While current contributions to border studies in Turkey mainly discuss new strategies of joint border management, the border spectacle of the irregular corridor to Europe and emerging humanitarian interventions at the borders, this article traces how political and legal transformations of border control trickle down to the everyday of unaccompanied minors. We suggest analysing the EU–Turkey border regime in 2015/16 as a ‘critical event’ (Das [2007]. Life and Words: Violence and the Descent Into the Ordinary. Berkeley: University of California Press) and show how violence, exclusion and humanitarianism affect young men’s lives

Typhloiulus carniolensis Strasser, 1940 Typhloiulus carniolensis Strasser, 1940 Distribution. Known only from the type locality: Slovenia: Štedl Peak near Železniki in Selška Sora Valley, NW of Škofja Loka. Remarks. Strasser (1940) described this species based on only two females. The description is very detailed and further supported by a side-by-side comparison between T. carniolensis and each of the several typhloiuline species known to occur in Slovenia and its adjacent territories at that time.Published as part of Vagalinski, Boyan, Stoev, Pavel & Enghoff, Henrik, 2015, A review of the millipede genus Typhloiulus Latzel, 1884 (Diplopoda: Julida: Julidae), with a description of three new species from Bulgaria and Greece, pp. 334-362 in Zootaxa 3999 (3) on page 338, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3999.3.2, http://zenodo.org/record/23401
