Radiocarbon dates of sediments from ODP Site 161-976
Multiproxy paleoenvironmental records (pollen and planktonic isotope) from Ocean Drilling Program Site 976 (Alboran Sea) document rapid ocean and climate variations during the last glacial that follow the Dansgaard-Oeschger climate oscillations seen in the Greenland ice core records, thus suggesting a close link of the Mediterranean climate swings with North Atlantic climates. Continental conditions rapidly oscillated through cold-arid and warm-wet conditions in the course of stadial-interstadial climate jumps. At the time of Heinrich events, i.e., maximum meltwater flux to the North Atlantic, western Mediterranean marine microflora and microfauna show rapid cooling correlated with increasing continental dryness. Enhanced aridity conceivably points to prolonged wintertime stability of atmospheric high-pressure systems over the southwestern Mediterranean in conjunction with cooling of the North Atlantic

A Commentary ( ممزوج ) on the preceding work, by WAJÎH B. NAṢR ALLAH B. ‘IMÂD ‘ALAWÎ , who wrote it during the reign of Maḥmûd Shâh (III.) b. Laṭîf b. Muẓaffar Shâh, of Gujarât (A.H. 944-961). A commentary by Wajîh al-dîn, of Gujarât, is mentioned in the Leyden MS. of the original work (Cat. Lugd. i. 48n.).
The work has no special preface. It begins, after a Basmalah and the shortest possible Ḥamdalaḥ: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله افتتح كتابه ببسم الله ثم بالحمد لله تيمّنا بالكتاب العزيز الخ.
The author concludes as follows: تم تاليف الشرح بعون الله الملك الولى للفقير وجيه بن نصر الله بن عماد العلوى وقت الظهر فى الثانى عشر من شهر الربيع الاول شهر مولد النبى صلى الله عليه و على آله و اصحابه و امته اجمعين في عهد مولانا السلطان محمود شاه بن لطيف بن مظفر شاه الراحم على الخلق سيما العلماء و الفقير آمين.
Clearly written in Nasta’lîḳ, the beginning different from the rest. The colophon runs as follows: كتبت هذا الكتاب فقير احمد باشنده بيران وهار ( ؟) .
Notes in the earlier portion. Foll. 107 and 108 should be transposed.
The first six leaves contain various notes and extracts, amongst them the Ḳaṣîdah of ṬANṬARÂNÎ (on which see no. 803, I.).
Fol. 4 should be placed after fol. 1. Worm-eaten

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
