Schülervorstellungen über Tätigkeiten von Naturwissenschaftlern
No full textIn Forschungsgemeinschaften spielen Kommunikation und Kooperation zwischen den beteiligten Personen und Arbeitsgruppen eine wichtige Rolle. Aus diesem Grund wurde bei der Konzeption des Schülerlabors SCIphyLAB_nano an der RWTH Aachen ein Verständnis der Kooperation zum zentralen Lernziel für Schülerinnen und Schüler erklärt. Der Sonderforschungsbereich 917 „Nanoswitches“ (SFB 917, 2017) diente dabei sowohl für die fachlichen Inhalte als auch für typische Arbeitsabläufe in den Naturwissenschaften als Vorbild. In einer explorativen Vorstudie wurden in einem offenen Erhebungsformat mit Zeichnungen und Texten die Schülervorstellungen zu Tätigkeiten von Naturwissenschaftlern von 189 SuS gesammelt und inhaltsanalytisch ausgewertet. Darauf aufbauend wurde unter Berücksichtigung eines von Wentorf, Höffler und Parchmann (2015) entwickelten Fragebogens ein Piktogramm-Text-Fragebogen gestaltet und getestet. Erste Ergebnisse zeigen sowohl einen positiven Einfluss des Einsatzes der Piktogramme im Erhebungsinstrument als auch des Schülerlaborbesuchs auf ausgewählte Vorstellungen zu Tätigkeiten von Naturwissenschaftlern

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
