The text of Executive Order 9165 which was intended to protect essential facilities from sabotage and other destructive acts. The order reviews previous related Executive Orders and then outlines new procedures to increase security at important military and government facilities. A list of federal agencies are included that were required to implement this new 'Facility Security Program.'The War Relocation Authority (WRA), together with the Wartime Civil Control Administration (WCCA), the Civil Affairs Division (CAD) and the Office of the Commanding General (OFG) of the Western Defense Command (WDC) operated together to segregate and house some 110,000 men women and children from 1942 to 1945. The collection contains documents and photographs relating to the establishment and administrative workings of the (WDC), the (WRA) and the (WCCA) for the year 1942
PREVALENCE OF RA 9165 IN DIGOS CITY 2017-2018
UM DIGOS Undergraduate Thesis (Department of Criminal Justice Education)This research aimed to know the prevalence of RA 9165 in Digos City for the year 2017-2018. The researchers used secondary data gathered from Digos City Police Station. The result of the research showed that the highest violations of RA 9165 were on January 2017 and the lowest violations of RA 9165 were on March 2018. The prevalence of RA 9165 in Digos City for the year 2017-2018 showed that it is unequal and not congruent to each other including barangay, incident type, suspect's age, gender and occupation. It showed that violations on January 2017 to August 2018 are changing from worst to better in unending prevalence of RA 9165 in Digos City for the year 2017-2018 categorized with occupations, gender, age, incident type and barangay. In the light of the findings and conclusions of the study, the following recommendations were offered, first is the cooperation between the civilian and the authorities must be strengthened in order to minimize the occurrence in violating RA 9165, second the police officer of Digos City should extend more effort towards drug related activities, for example, they should conduct seminars regarding RA 9165, so the people will be deterred in committing it, third is the police authorities must be responsive and be more visible to the community and must implement RA 9165 fairly and without prejudice and lastly, future researchers can use this study as a reference in getting the reason behind this unending prevalence of RA 9165 in Digos City despite the strong practice in eliminating this crime as one of the platforms of the Duterte administration.UT 1246/Sa31/201845 page
Identifying invertebrate invasions using morphological and molecular analyses: North American Daphnia ‘pulex’ in New Zealand fresh waters
We used a DNA barcoding approach to identify specimens of the Daphnia pulex complex occurring in New Zealand lakes, documenting the establishment of non-indigenous North American Daphnia 'pulex'. Morphological delineation of species in this complex is problematic due to a lack of good morphological traits to distinguish the species, as there is a relatively high degree of morphological stasis within the group through evolutionary time. Accordingly, genetic analyses were used to determine the specific identity and likely geographic origin of this species. Morphologically, individuals most closely resembled Daphnia pulicaria or Daphnia pulex sensu lato, which cannot be separated morphologically. Furthermore, each of these taxa comprises separate species in North America and Europe, despite carrying the same names. We identified individuals using a 658 bp nucleotide portion of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 gene (COI) as North American Daphnia 'pulex', being distinct from European Daphnia pulex sensu stricto and D. pulicaria from Europe or North America. Cellulose allozyme electrophoresis was used to confirm that individuals were not hybrids with D. pulicaria. North American Daphnia 'pulex' in New Zealand were first recorded in New Zealand from South Island lakes that are popular for overseas recreational fishers, indicating a possible source of introduction for this species (e.g. on/in fishing gear). Our study provides an additional example of how genetic techniques can be used for the accurate identification of non-indigenous taxa, particularly when morphological species determination is not possible. The growth of global databases such as GenBank and Barcode of Life Datasystems (BOLD) will further enhance this identification capacity
Cases of Violation of Republic Act No. 9165 ( Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) In the Province of Guimaras
The problem of illegal drugs in the Philippines continues to pose a significant threat to national security. Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002," enacted into law in June 2002, laid down an extensive legal framework for drug enforcement in the Philippines. The law imposes stiffer penalties for drug-related crimes and allows for more concrete courses of action for the national anti-drug campaign.
The study was conducted to determine the cases of violation of R.A. 9165 in the Province of Guimaras in the year 2006 to 2012. Specifically, it aimed to determine the profile of the offenders in terms of age, sex, and civil status; how many cases of R.A. 9165 in the Province of Guimaras were recorded from the year 2006 to 2012; which municipality had the highest and lowest number of cases related to R.A. 9165; the kinds of illegal drugs confiscated from the offenders; and to determine the number of cases filed related to R.A. 9165 by different municipal police stations from 2006 to 2012.
The study utilized descriptive research. Secondary data was used from the Guimaras Police Provincial Office covering the years 2006 to 2012 about cases of R.A. 9165. Data was analyzed using statistical tools such as frequency count, percent, and mean.
Most of the respondents were aged between 18–26 years old. The majority were male and single. As to cases of R.A. 9165, most of the offenders came from the Municipality of Buenavista, and no offenders were recorded in the Municipality of San Lorenzo during the years 2006–2012. There were only two kinds of illegal drugs — marijuana and shabu — that were confiscated from the offenders. R.A. 9165 cases were highest in the year 2010 and lowest in the year 2012. All cases were filed and are now on trial

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
