No full textThe present communication offers a new in sight to the cytotoxic potential of Andrographolide against Human Lung Adenocarcinoma Epithelial Cell Lines, A - 549 and its insensitivity against normal cell lines, L - 132, employing MTT colorimetric assay. On the basis of viability, proliferation and activation of cells, andrographolide was found to be 77.52 % toxic for A - 549 cell lines at 100μg/ml concentration whereas it did not show any remarkable toxicity against L - 132 cell lines. Thus, Andrographolide may prove to be an anti-proliferative agent against tuberculosis associated lung cancer

No full textTwo ash horizons have been identified in Hole 549, one in the upper Paleocene (basal NP9), the other in the upper Eocene (NP18); both are mixed lithic crystal tuffs of rhyolitic composition. These tuffs are absent in Hole 550 owing to unconformities, but the basal Eocene (NP10) of Hole 550 includes a series of over 50 thin bentonite layers. Intermediate plagioclase associated with these bentonites indicates that the original ash was of basaltic to andesitic composition. The bentonites are absent in Hole 549, probably because of an unconformity, but they have been identified in Hole 401 (Leg 48, Bay of Biscay). Two of the pyroclastic phases can be matched with phases previously reported for the North Sea Basin. The bentonites of Site 550 are probably equivalent to the widespread "ash series" of northwestern Europe, which may therefore be regarded as being lower Eocene in terms of Martini's calcareous nannoplankton zonation
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. No full textThe Early Cretaceous series of Site 549 have been analyzed from both an ecological and a chronostratigraphical viewpoint. Lithology and microfaunal assemblages allow the division of these deposits into two parts. The lower part extends from the lower Barremian to the basal upper Barremian and possibly down into the upper Hauterivian. Three foraminiferal associations suggest an orderly evolution from a low-energy, littoral environment, in which continental influences dominated, to progressively more open marine conditions. A dolosparite bed (which has not yet been dated) separates these synrift deposits from lower to basal middle Albian postrift sediments that developed in a pelagic bathyal environment on the middle to nearby lower continental slope
