    Sanwal et al. [Astrophys. J. 574 (2002) L61] supposed that it is very difficult to interpret the absorption features in terms of cyclotron lines. However, we would like to address here that the possibility of the absorption being cyclotron resonance cannot be ruled out. We propose that the isolate neutron star, 1E 1207.4-5209 in the centre of supernova remnant PKS 1209-5152, has a debris disc and is in a propeller phase, with an accretion rate similar to 6 x 10(-11) M-circle dot/year.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     HST and VLT observations of the neutron star 1E 1207.4−5209?

    Received...; accepted... 1E 1207.4−5209, the peculiar Central Compact object in the G296.5+10.0 supernova remnant, has been proposed to be an “anti-magnetar ” – a young neutron star born with a weak dipole field. Accretion, possibly of supernova fallback material, has also been invoked to explain a large surface temperature anisotropy as well as the generation of peculiar cyclotron absorption features superimposed to its thermal spectrum. Interestingly enough, a faint optical/infrared source was proposed as a possible counterpart to 1E 1207.4−5209, but later questioned, based on coarse positional coincidence. Considering the large offset of 1E 1207.4−5209 with respect to the center of its host supernova remnant, the source should move at ∼ 70 mas yr−1. Thus, we tested the association by measuring the proper motion of the proposed optical counterpart. Using Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observations spanning 3.75 years, we computed a 3σ upper limit of 7 mas yr−1. Absolute astrometry on the same HST data set also places the optical source significantly off the 99 % confidence Chandra position. This allows us to safely rule out the association. Using the HST data set, coupled to ground-based observations collected at the ESO/Very Large Telescope (VLT), we set the deepest limits ever obtained to the optical/infrared emission from 1E 1207.4−5209.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     1E 1207.4-5209-LIKE RADIO-QUIET NEUTRON STARS

    In this work, the results of X-ray spectral analysis of radio-quiet X-ray pulsar 1E 1207.4-5209 and RX J0002+6246, RX J0822-4300, CXOU J185238.6+00402, which have the same observational characteristics as 1E 1207.4-5209, are represented based on XMM-Newton satellite observations. These four neutron stars with common physical properties may have similar physical evolution. It is shown that all of them have Pure blackbody spectra (two-blackbody fits in three cases) without a power law component. No pulsar wind nebula has been observed around any one of them, which strongly shows that they have low rotational energy loss despite their small ages. All of these neutron stars are physically connected to shell-type supernova remnants which are younger than (1-2) x 10(4) yr. None of these sources has been detected to emit at radiofrequencies. These common spectral properties (and possibly common timing characteristics) of these neutron stars are examined. Their possible evolution is discussed based on a model represented in Ref. 1. As a result, it is quite possible that these objects form a new class of neutron stars quite different than the other types
