Presentation completed by students enrolled in PSY 3960: Stress & Trauma, taught by Patricia Frazier in spring 2015.This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between the City of Rosemount and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). Employee wellness programs have been in the spotlight in recent years as employers attempt to reduce health insurance costs and boost employee productivity and satisfaction. As an employer, the City of Rosemount is interested in enhancing their employee wellness program. The goal of this project was to assess the health and wellness issues that are most prevalent for Rosemount city employees and provide recommendations for a comprehensive wellness program. In collaboration with city project lead Emmy Foster, Assistant City Administrator for the City of Rosemount, a team of students in PSY 3960: Stress & Trauma conducted a survey of City employees to identify common sources of stress and recommended wellness initiatives to address these sources of stress. A final presentation from the project is available. This project was supported by the Resilient Communities Project (RCP), a program at the University of Minnesota that convenes the wide-ranging expertise of U of M faculty and students to address strategic local projects that advance community resilience and sustainability. RCP is a program of the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA). More information at http://www.rcp.umn.edu.Students Enrolled in PSY 3960. (2015). On the nature of X(3960)

A near-threshold enhancement in the Ds+DsD_s^+ D_s^- system, dubbed as X(3960)X(3960), is observed by the LHCb collaboration recently. A combined analysis on χc0(3930) (D+D)\chi_{c0}(3930)~(\to D^+ D^-), X(3960) (Ds+Ds)X(3960)~(\to D_s^+ D_s^-), and X(3915) (J/ψω)X(3915)~(\to J/\psi\omega) is performed using both a KK-matrix approach of D(s)Dˉ(s)D_{(s)}\bar{D}_{(s)} four-point contact interactions and a model of Flatt\'e-like parameterizations. The use of the pole counting rule and spectral density function sum rule indicate, under current statistics, that this Ds+DsD_s^+ D_s^- near-threshold state has probably the mixed nature of a ccˉc\bar{c} confining state and Ds+DsD_s^+ D_s^- continuum.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, 5 table

Pole determination of X(3960)X(3960) and X0(4140)X_0(4140) in decay B+K+Ds+DsB^+\to K^+D_s^+D_s^-

Two near-threshold peaking structures with spin-parities JPC=0++J^{PC}=0^{++} were recently discovered by the LHCb Collaboration in the Ds+DsD_s^+D_s^- invariant mass distribution of the decay process B+Ds+DsK+B^+\to D_s^+D_s^-K^+. In our study, we employed a coupled-channel model to fit the experimental results published by the LHCb collaboration, simultaneously fitting the model to the invariant mass distributions of MDs+DsM_{D_s^+D_s^-}, MDs+K+M_{D_s^+K^+}, and MDsK+M_{D_s^-K^+}. We utilized a coupled-channel model to search for the poles of X(3960)X(3960) and X0(4140)X_0(4140). The determination of the poles is meaningful in itself, and it also lays an foundation for the future research on X(3960)X(3960) and X0(4140)X_0(4140). Upon turning off the coupled-channel and performing another fit, we observed a change in the fitting quality, the effect was almost entirely due to the peak of X(3960)X(3960), so we suggest that X(3960)X(3960) may not be a kinematic effect.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure

    The scalar exotic resonances X(3915), X(3960), X(4140)

    No full text
The scalar resonances X(3915),X(3960),X(4140)X(3915), X(3960), X(4140) are considered as exotic four-quark states: cqcˉqˉ,cscˉsˉ,cscˉsˉcq\bar c \bar q, cs\bar c \bar s, cs\bar c\bar s, while the X(3863)X(3863) is proved to be the ccˉ,23P0c\bar c, 2\,^3P_0 state. The masses and the widths of these resonances are calculated in the framework of the Extended Recoupling Model, where a four-quark system is formed inside the bag and has relatively small size (\la 1.0~fm). Then the resonance X(3915)X(3915) appears due to the transitions: J/ψωJ/\psi\omega into D+DD^{*+}D^{*-} (or D0Dˉ0)D^{*0}\bar D^{*0}) and back, while the X(3960)X(3960) is created due to the transitions Ds+DsD_s^+D_s^- into J/ψϕJ/\psi\phi and back, and the X(4140)X(4140) is formed in the transitions J/ψϕJ/\psi\phi into Ds+DsD_s^{*+}D_s^{*-} and back. The characteristic feature of the recoupling mechanism is that this type of resonances can be predominantly in the SS-wave decay channels and has JP=0+J^P=0^+. In two-channel case the resonance occurs to be just near the lower threshold, while due to coupling to third channel (like the ccˉc\bar c channel) it is shifted up and lies by (20--30)~MeV above the lower threshold. The following masses and widths are calculated: M(X(3915))=3920M(X(3915))=3920~MeV, Γ(X(3915))=20\Gamma(X(3915))=20~MeV; M(X(3960))=3970M(X(3960))=3970~MeV, Γ(X(3960)=45(5)\Gamma(X(3960)=45(5)~MeV, M(X(4140))=4120(20)M(X(4140))= 4120(20)~MeV, Γ(X(4140))=100\Gamma(X(4140))=100~MeV, which are in good agreement with experiment.Comment: 16 page

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Charmoniumlike resonant explanation on the newly observed X(3960)X(3960)

    No full text
Stimulated by the observation of the newly X(3960)X(3960) observed by the LHCb collaboration, we adopt the one-boson-exchange model and consider the SDS-D wave mixing effects to study the DsDˉs/DDˉ/DsDˉsD_s\bar{D}_s/D^*\bar{D}^*/D_s^*\bar{D}_s^* interactions with I(JPC)=0(0++)I(J^{PC})=0(0^{++}). After producing the phase shifts of this coupled channel systems, our results show that there can exist a charmoniumlike resonance, whose obtained mass and width can both well match with the experimental data of the newly observed X(3960)X(3960). We also find that the DDˉD^*\bar{D}^* system plays an important role in the formation of the newly observed X(3960)X(3960) as a charmoniumlike resonance, and the DsDˉsD_s^*\bar{D}_s^* system makes a significant contribution to the resonant width. As a byproduct, we perform a coupled channel analysis on the DDˉ/DsDˉs/DsDˉsD^*\bar{D}^*/D_s\bar{D}_s^*/D_s^*\bar{D}_s^* interactions with I(JPC)=0(1+)I(J^{PC})=0(1^{+-}), our results can predict the existence of the DsDˉsD_s\bar{D}_s^* molecule with 1+1^{+-} and the DsDˉsD_s^*\bar{D}_s^* molecule with 1+1^{+-}. Their widths are around several and several to several tens MeV, respectively. Experimental searches for these two possible charmoniumlike molecular candidates can be helpful to verify our proposal.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, Physics Letters B846, 13825

Memorie della NGC 3960: membership and lithium abundances

    No full text
Abstract. We determine here membership and Li abundances in a sample of candidate members of NGC 3960 (age ∼1 Gyr), to fill the gap between 0.6 and 2 Gyr in the empirical description of the behaviour of the average Li abundance as a function of the stellar age. We use VLT/FLAMES Giraffe spectra to determine the radial velocities (RVs) and thus the membership of a sample of 113 photometrically selected candidate members. We derive Li abundances for cluster members and nonmembers. Li abundances of the stars hotter than about 6000 K are similar to those of stars in the Hyades, while they are slightly smaller for cooler stars. This confirms that NGC 3960 is older than the Hyades. The average Li abundance of members cooler than about 6000 K indicates that the Li Pop. I plateau starts already at 0.9 Gyr rather than 2 Gyr that is the upper limit previously derived i
