Full text linkThe motion graphics that are made are about the ESEC 3088 machine which is used as a circuit packaging machine or what is commonly called IC Packaging. So far, students and lecturers of Electronic Manufacturing Engineering have only used material from the ESEC 3088 machine in pdf and word form obtained from e-learning. From this problem, the author made a study "Motion Graphic-Based Learning Media as an Alternative ESEC 3088 Machine Material for Batam State Polytechnic Electronics Manufacturing Engineering", which aims as an alternative learning media that makes it easier for students to learn the procedures for using the ESEC 3088 machine. Research method The method used is Villamil-Molina\u27s multimedia development method using pre-test and post-test methods, to assess the level of student understanding of the material presented in motion graphics. The results of this study are the results of the post-test test scores which are higher than the pre-test scores, which means that the motion graphics created by the researchers succeeded in increasing the level of students\u27 understanding of the material presented.Motion graphic yang dibuat adalah tentang mesin ESEC 3088 yang digunakan sebagai mesin pengemasan rangkaian atau yang biasa disebut IC Packaging. Selama ini mahasiswa dan dosen Teknik Manufaktur Elektronika hanya menggunakan materi dari mesin ESEC 3088 dalam bentuk pdf dan word yang didapat dari e-learning. Dari masalah tersebut, penulis membuat sebuah penelitian " Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Motion Graphic Sebagai Alternatif Materi Mesin ESEC 3088 untuk Teknik Manufaktur Elektronika Politeknik Negeri Batam ", yang bertujuan sebagai media alternatif pembelajaran yang mempermudah para mahasiswa dalam mempelajari tata cara penggunaan mesin ESEC 3088. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan multimedia milik Villamil-Molina dengan menggunakan metode pre-test dan post-test, untuk menilai tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan pada motion graphic. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah hasil dari nilai uji post-test yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai pre-test yang berarti motion graphic yang dibuat oleh peneliti berhasil meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan

Transduction of stx2a mediated by phage (Φ11-3088) from Escherichia coli O104:H4 in vitro and in situ during sprouting of mung beans
Full text linkEscherichia coli O104:H4 strain 11-3088 encoding Stx2a is epidemiologically related to the foodborne outbreak associated with sprouts in Germany, 2011. Sprouting provides suitable conditions for bacterial growth and may lead to transduction of non-pathogenic strains of E. coli with Stx phages. Although transduction of E. coli by Stx phages in food has been documented, data on the phages from E. coli O104:H4 is limited. This study determined the host range of the bacteriophage Φ11-3088 from E. coli O104:H4 using E. coli O104:H4 ∆stx2::gfp::ampr and demonstrated phage transduction during sprouting. The Φ11-3088∆stx transduced 5/45 strains, including generic E. coli, pap-positive E. coli O103:H2, ETEC, and S. sonnei. The expression level of Φ11-3088∆stx differed among lysogens upon induction. Of the 3 highly induced lysogens, the lytic cycle was induced in E. coli O104:H4∆stx2::gfp::ampr and O103:H2 but not in S. sonnei. E. coli DH5α was the only strain susceptible to lytic infection by Φ11-3088∆stx. To explore the effect of drying and rehydration during seed storage and sprouting on phage induction and transduction, mung beans inoculated with the phage donor E. coli O104:H4∆stx2::gfp::ampr (8 log CFU/g) were dried, rehydrated, and incubated with the phage recipient E. coli DH5α (7 log CFU/g) for 96 h. Sprouted seeds harbored about 3 log CFU/g of putative lysogens that acquired ampicillin resistance. At the end of sprouting, 71 % of putative lysogens encoded gfp, confirming phage transduction. Overall, stx transfer by phages may increase the cell counts of STEC during sprouting by converting generic E. coli to STEC
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
