Barium counts measured in sediment cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443
A composite section was created by splicing Cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 together at ~194 ka. The splice tie point corresponds to a depth of 27.42 mbsf in MD01-2444 and 16.74 mbsf in Core MD01-2443
Oxygen isotope record of Globigerina bulloides for sediment cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443
Data sources: MD01-2443 de Abreu et al. (2005); MD01-2444 Vautravers and Shackleton (2006). A composite section was created by splicing Cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 together at ~194 ka. The splice tie point corresponds to a depth of 27.42 mbsf in MD01-2444 and 16.74 mbsf in Core MD01-2443
Age model of composite sediment core MD01-2444/2443
A composite section was created by splicing Cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 together at ~194 ka. The splice tie point corresponds to a depth of 27.42 mbsf in MD01-2444 and 16.74 mbsf in Core MD01-2443. The age model is a modified version of the one derived by Barker et al. (2011) based on correlation of millennial variability in MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 records to a synthetic Greenland temperature record produced using the EPICA Dome C (EDC) ice core and placed on the absolute speleothem timescale (GLt_syn age)
Oxygen isotope record of benthic foraminifera for sediment cores MD01-2444, MD95-2042 and MD01-2443
Data sources: MD01-2444 (Shackleton, unpublished; Skinner et al., 2007; Margari et al., 2010); MD95-2042 (Shackleton et al., 2000), and MD01-2443 (de Abreu et al., 2005; Martrat et al., 2007). A composite section was created by splicing Cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 together at ~194 ka. The splice tie point corresponds to a depth of 27.42 mbsf in MD01-2444 and 16.74 mbsf in Core MD01-2443
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Biomarker and sea surface temperature reconstruction for sediment cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443
Data previously published in Martrat et al. (2007). A composite section was created by splicing Cores MD01-2444 and MD01-2443 together at ~194 ka. The splice tie point corresponds to a depth of 27.42 mbsf in MD01-2444 and 16.74 mbsf in Core MD01-2443
