Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textAbstract Purposes Radiotherapy can induce tumor cell autophagy, which might impair the antitumoral effect. This study aims to investigate the effect of autophagy inhibition on the targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) efficacy of 131I-FAP-2286 in pancreatic cancer. Methods Human pancreatic cancer PANC-1 cells were exposed to 131I-FAP-2286 radiotherapy alone or with the autophagy inhibitor 3-MA. The autophagy level and proliferative activity of PANC-1 cells were analyzed. The pancreatic cancer xenograft-bearing nude mice were established by the co-injection of PANC-1 cells and pancreatic cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and then were randomly divided into four groups and treated with saline (control group), 3-MA, 131I-FAP-2286 and 131I-FAP-2286 + 3-MA, respectively. SPECT/CT imaging was performed to evaluate the bio-distribution of 131I-FAP-2286 in pancreatic cancer-bearing mice. The therapeutic effect of tumor was evaluated by 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging, tumor volume measurements, and the hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining, and immunohistochemical staining assay of tumor tissues. Results 131I-FAP-2286 inhibited proliferation and increased the autophagy level of PANC-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner. 3-MA promoted 131I-FAP-2286-induced apoptosis of PANC-1 cells via suppressing autophagy. SPECT/CT imaging of pancreatic cancer xenograft-bearing nude mice showed that 131I-FAP-2286 can target the tumor effectively. According to 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging, the tumor growth curves and immunohistochemical analysis, 131I-FAP-2286 TRT was capable of suppressing the growth of pancreatic tumor accompanying with autophagy induction, but the addition of 3-MA enabled 131I-FAP-2286 to achieve a better therapeutic effect along with the autophagy inhibition. In addition, 3-MA alone did not inhibit tumor growth. Conclusions 131I-FAP-2286 exposure induces the protective autophagy of pancreatic cancer cells, and the application of autophagy inhibitor is capable of enhancing the TRT therapeutic effect

Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textVegrekkverk spiller en meget viktig rolle i arbeidet med å redusere trafikkulykker. Nær 30 % av trafikkulykkene kan føres tilbake til utforkjøringer. Rekkverk kan ikke forhindre at uhell oppstår, men når disse skjer er det om å gjøre at det finnes rekkverk som fanger opp kjøretøyene på en måte som gjør at personskader og skader på kjøretøy og omgivelser blir minst mulig. Det er i dag montert nær 10 000 km rekkverk langs det norske vegnettet på ca 90 000 km. Det alt vesentligste av dette er stålskinnerekkverk festet til trykkimpregnerte trestolper. Norge, Canada og en del stater i USA benytter trestolper. Ellers i verden er det stålstolper som anvendes. Da arbeidet med rekkverk for alvor kom i gang i begynnelsen av 60 årene, ble det utarbeidet rekkverknormaler hvor man satset på trestolper som en billig løsning og som en støtte til norsk treindustri. Det er montert opp ca 2, 7 mill trestolper. Vegvesenet bruker årlig ca 100 mill til oppsetting av vegrekkverk hvorav en tredjedel til reparasjon og vedlikehold av oppsatt rekkverk. Det er derfor av stor betydning at det velges riktige og godkjente reklcverktyper og at disse monteres opp på en måte som gjør at vedlikeholdsutgiftene blir lavest mulig. Enda viktigere er det at rekkverk er satt opp på strekninger hvor dette er påkrevd og at rekkverket har en evne til å fungere på en effektiv og kontrollert måte ved forskjellige former for påkjøring. En påkjørsel av et rekkverk innebærer alltid en fare for skader på kjøretøy og mennesker. For at denne risikoen skal være minst mulig, er det nå innført en godkjenningsordning med europeiske testkrav til rekkverk som skal settes opp. Disse kravene ble i 1998 innført som Norsk standard.
