Scalable Data Structures (Dagstuhl Seminar 21071)
This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 21071 "Scalable Data Structure". Even if the field of data structures is quite mature, new trends and limitations in computer hardware together with the ever-increasing amounts of data that need to be processed raise new questions with respect to efficiency and continuously challenge the existing models of computation. Thermal and electrical power constraints have caused technology to reach "the power wall" with stagnating single processor performance, meaning that all nontrivial applications need to address scalability with multiple processors, a memory hierarchy and other communication challenges. Scalable data structures are pivotal to this process since they form the backbone of the algorithms driving these applications. The extended abstracts included in this report contain both recent state of the art advances and lay the foundation for new directions within data structures research

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Resistencia al desgaste abrasivo de recubrimientos comerciales metaceram 25050 y proxon 21071 producidos con el sistema de proyección térmica por llama
En este trabajo se investigo como el método de preparación superficial del sustrato afecta el comportamiento mecánico de recubrimientos de Metaceram 25050 Y Proxon 21071, fabricados por medio de proyección térmica por llama, recubiertos y no recubiertos con una capa adhesión (Ni 11%Al). Los sustratos se prepararon por granallado metálico, granallado por arena y por disco abrasivo. El análisis estructural de los recubrimientos se realizo mediante difracción de rayos X (DRX); la morfología fue evaluada mediante microscopia electrónica de barrido (MEB) microscopia electrónica de transmisión (MET) y microscopia confocal. La respuesta mecánica se evaluó mediante pruebas de desgaste abrasivo, medidas del coeficiente de fricción, dureza Knoop y adherencia. La dureza del sustrato fue 1608(±41) MPa, los recubrimientos de Metaceram preparado con pulidora superaron este valor. Por otro lado, el ensayo de adherencia sólo se le pudo hacer a las muestras de Proxon, las cuales mostraron que las fallas fueron cohesivas, para las de Metaceram la adherencia fue muy pobre.Abstract: In this paper we investigate the method of surface preparation of the substrate affects the mechanical behavior of coatings Metaceram 25050 Y Proxon 21071, manufactured by thermal spray flame, coated and uncoated with an adhesion layer (Ni 11% Al) . The substrates were prepared by metal blasting, sand blasting and abrasive disk. Structural analysis of the coating was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), morphology was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and confocal microscopy. The mechanical response was evaluated by testing abrasive wear of the friction coefficient measurements, Knoop hardness and adhesion. The hardness of the substrate was 1608 (± 41) MPa, coatings prepared with polishing Metaceram exceeded this value. Furthermore, the adhesion test you could only do Proxon samples, which showed that the failures were cohesive, for those of Metaceram was very poor adhesion.Maestrí
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

Resistencia a la corrosión en recubrimientos comerciales Metaceram 25050 y Proxon 21071 producidos con el sistema de proyección térmica por llama
En este proyecto se depositaron y caracterizaron los recubrimientos comerciales de marca Proxon 21071 de composición química Cu+11% Al-Fe y Metaceram 25050 (óxido de cromo), sobre sustratos de piezas navales susceptibles a ser recuperadas utilizando la técnica de proyección térmica por llama, con tres diferentes métodos de preparación de superficie: granallado por arena, granallado metálico y pulimiento por disco abrasivo. Se depositaron con el objetivo de recuperar piezas a base de aleaciones de bronce con y sin capa base (aleación a base de níquel), utilizadas en la industria naval. Posteriormente los recubrimientos depositados se caracterizaron microestructuralmente por medio de metalografía, difracción de rayos X (XRD) y microscopía electrónica de barrido (SEM). Se estableció su resistencia a la corrosión por medio de pruebas electroquímicas a través del ensayo de voltamperometría cíclica (VC), la cual estudia el comportamiento reversible, cuasi-irreversible o irreversible de procesos de óxido-reducción en sistemas electroquímicos. También, se realizó la prueba de espectroscopía de impedancia electroquímica para determinar la degradación del recubrimiento con respecto al tiempo de ensayo. Para determinar los mecanismos de corrosión, se realizó un estudio microestructural a los productos de corrosión mediante SEM. / Abstract. In this project were deposited and characterized commercial coatings chemical composition Proxon is 21071 Cu +11% Al-Fe and Metaceram 25050 (chromium oxide), substrates of naval pieces that can be recovered using the projection technique called thermal spray with three different methods of surface preparation, sand blasting, grit blasting and polishing with grinding disc. Were deposited in order to repair parts based bronze alloys with and without bond coating (nickel base alloy) used in the shipbuilding industry. Subsequently deposited coatings were characterized microstructurally using metallography, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It established its resistance to corrosion by electrochemical tests through the testing of cyclic voltammetry (CV), which studies the behavior of reversible, quasi-irreversible or irreversible redox processes in electrochemical systems. Also, the test was performed electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to determine the degradation of the coating with respect to testing time. In order to determine the mechanisms of corrosion, were made a microstructural study of the corrosion products by SEM.Maestrí
