No full textThe three-part work provides a first synthetic account of the history of the Polish intelligentsia from the days of its formation to World War I. Part one (1750–1831) traces the formation of the intelligentsia as a social class in the epoch of Enlightenment. It stresses the importance of the birth of bureaucratic institutions that created the demand for the educated stratum. It analyses the results of the collapse of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795 – the ominous event that transformed the political geography of East Central Europe. The work combines social and intellectual history, tracing both the formation of the intelligentsia as a social stratum and the forms of engagement of the intelligentsia in the public discourse. Thus, it offers a broad view of the group’s transformations which immensely influenced the course of the Polish history

Tijdens de oorspronkelijke gegevensverzameling in de periode december 2000 tot en met november 2003 werden per scheepsreis gegevens verzameld in MS Access databases. Deze dataset bevat een oorspronkelijke database samen met de afbeeldingen van het bijbehorende scheepsjournaal

básicos del consumo doméstico de bienes duraderos y semiduraderos
en la Castilla del siglo XIX. Hay que distinguir aquellos factores relacionados
con variables económicas, es decir, los referidos a la renta familiar y a los
elementos que forman parte de ella (salarios, intereses, impuestos, etc.), y
los centrados en las propias expectativas sobre la evolución económica, los
cambios en la distribución de la renta, las facilidades crediticias o el nivel
de inflación, amén de otros de carácter social e institucional. Para ello, abordaremos,
en primer lugar, algunos aspectos críticos sobre la fuente utilizada,
los inventarios post mortem, y los criterios adoptados en su selección, asi
como la validez de la muestra obtenida. Por último, realizaremos una aproximación
econométrica que permita conocer aquellos elementos que incidían
en un mayor o menor consumo familiar.The main objectíve of this research has been to identify the determinants
of durable and semi-durable goods' consumption in Castile between 1750 and
1850. These pattems of family consumption are very different and heterogeneous.
It is necessary to distinguish those related with economic variables
—family rent and its components (wages and taxes, for example)— and those
related to the economic evolution, changes in rent distribution, credit facilitíes,
inflation and other aspects of cultural, social and institutional character. First of aU, I will explain some critical aspects on the probate inventoríes, the critería
adopted in their selection and the validity of the sample. An econometric
approach that allows to identify the elements that had influenced in the consumption
of durable and semi-durable goods has been employed.Publicad
