No full textWe are going to study an aragonese magistrature that «was controlled» by the royalty and had life during 1585-1672. The post of justice of Jaca and mountains of Aragón, created in Cortes de Monzón of 1585 to give answer to banditry, carried out by a magistrate natural and domiciled in Aragón, with a lively and hereditary character. This magistrate had competitions in criminal jurisdiction in a large area of the aragonese Pyrenees, prestigious places were excluded. The end of this royal post –according to the courts of 1645-1646– arrived in 1672 with the gift death José Pérez de Sayas, member of a stock that had Jerónimo Fernández de Heredia as the first justice and, later as the governor of Aragón.Estudiamos una magistratura aragonesa que estaba «controlada» por la realeza y que tuvo vida durante 1585-1672. El cargo de justicia de Jaca y de las montañas de Aragón, creado en las Cortes de Monzón de 1585 para dar respuesta al bandolerismo, lo desempeñó un magistrado natural y domiciliado en Aragón, con carácter vitalicio y hereditario. Dicho magistrado tenía competencias en jurisdicción criminal en una amplia zona del Pirineo aragonés, donde quedaban excluidos los lugares de señorío. El final de este oficio real –según lo establecido en las Cortes de 1645-1646– llegó en 1672 con el óbito de don José Pérez de Sayas, miembro de una estirpe que tuvo a don Jerónimo Fernández de Heredia como primer justicia y, posteriormente, como gobernador de Aragón

No full textGłównym celem niniejszego doktoratu jest przedstawienie dziejów dóbr orlańskich w latach 1585-1695, gdy były one w posiadaniu Radziwiłłów birżańskich. Rozprawa porusza wielorakie kwestie, by całościowo zaprezentować obraz majątku orlańskiego w omawianych latach. Opisana została ewolucja tej majętności od jej początków w I połowie XVI w., poprzez jej rozkwit w I połowie kolejnego stulecia, następnie zniszczenie jej w trakcie potopu szwedzkiego i powolną odbudowę w II połowie wieku XVII. Pierwszy rozdział dotyczy dóbr orlańskich do 1585 r., ale także przybliżono w nim sylwetki Radziwiłłów birżańskich i przedstawiono zarys dziejów majętności orlańskiej za życia poszczególnych członków tego rodu w latach 1585-1695. Drugi rozdział porusza kwestie powstania miasta Orla, układu urbanistycznego miejscowości wchodzących w skład dóbr orlańskich, a także ich demografii i administracji. Kolejny rozdział omawia całościowo społeczeństwo dóbr orlańskich wraz z kwestiami religijnymi i powinnościami. Ostatni rozdział dotyczy gospodarki dóbr orlańskich z rozbiciem na jej poszczególne sektory. Podsumowaniem tego rozdziału jest określenie roli, jaką dobra orlańskie odgrywały w ramach latyfundium radziwiłłowskiego

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Full text linkThe topic of this paper, Elizabeth Foreign Policy: 1567-1585 , evolved from an attempt to analyze Anglo-Spanish relations during the same period. The interrelatedness of the religious and political problems among the major powers of the period led this author frequently into considerations outside the original sphere of interest. While the topic was expanded in scope, it should be noted that the paper attempts to deal only with the more significant factors affecting English foreign policy and not not pretend to illuminate the complex and changing national situations elsewhere. Specific external events are introduced only when they directly affect Elizabeth foreign policy considerations
