During the seminar, several participants presented their current
research, and ongoing work and open problems were discussed. Abstracts of
the presentations given during the seminar as well as abstracts of
seminar results and ideas are put together in this paper. The first section
describes the seminar topics and goals in general.

No full textCuando en 1978 Messiaen pronuncia su discurso de Notre Dame establece una jerarquización musical de la composición religiosa que comprende tres categorías diferenciadas: la litúrgica, la no litúrgica y aquella que “se abre al más allá” en el sentido de buscar una religiosidad espiritual. Ante este enfoque estético, el estudio del réquiem de Montsalvatge ofrece un modelo de composición religiosa espiritual que particulariza las posibilidades expresivas de cada uno de sus movimientos sobre una solución orquestal derivada del argumento del género de difuntos. A modo de ejemplificación, el apartado del Lux Aeterna muestra este planteamiento creativo y recupera la espiritualidad de la luz como manifestación divina de un simbolismo que años atrás había aplicado Messiaen en su producción religiosa. A partir de este referente creativo, el desarrollo de este artículo sitúa el estudio del Lux Aeterna del réquiem de Montsalvatge como modelo de una religiosidad musical fundamentada en el principio teológico de la luz. Un simbolismo espiritual que dirige las posibilidades musicales del movimiento y establece la estética religiosa de Messiaen como modelo compositivo.</p
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
