Deep Recurrent Neural Networks for OYO Hotels Recommendation
Part 4: Deep Learning - Recurrent/ReinforcementInternational audienceRecommendation Systems at OYO solve a complex personalization problem with scale and sophistication. The authors have focused on the development of the best-in-class recommendation system in the hospitality industry using a deep learning based model. The objective of the work is to develop a recommendation model which uses sequences of user interactions with contents derived from user interactions. The hybrid model described in the paper is a deep recurrent neural network based architecture split into two components: first, an embedding generation model and then a deep prediction and ranking model. The models have shown significant performance improvement both online and offline over existing collaborative filtering based models across geographies irrespective of traffic density and hotel supply density. The success of the deep learning based hybrid recommendation model at OYO across different geographies indicates immense potential of such recommender systems in industries such as travel, hospitality etc

This study focused on deviant behaviour engaged in by library users in the course of their interaction with the library systems of Ajayi Crowther University and Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Oyo State-Nigeria. The study investigated the kinds and causes of deviant behaviour as well as the measures put in place to drastically reduce or eliminate these behaviour by the patrons of the libraries under investigation. The sample consisted of 50 library staff and 200 library users. It was revealed from the study findings that theft, mutilation, impersonation, and defacement of information materials were the most commonly committed deviant behaviour; while factors like poverty, laziness, natural instinct and poor reading culture were responsible for the deviant behaviour. The study therefore recommends that libraries, especially academic libraries put in place effective and efficient library security network, do frequent library orientation and information literacy for new and old users from time to time. Ifa Divination Trays from Isale-Oyo
This paper is a study of the images and patterns on ifa divination trays from Isale-Oyo. The paper also explains some ifa paraphernalia. The paper establishes that ifa trays from Isale-Oyo bear distinctive features when compared with other ifa trays in Yorubaland such as those of Ijebu and Osogbo. Central to this study is the iconographic description and interpretations of Isale-Oyo divination trays. Data were collected through direct interviews with divination tray owners. Photographs of the trays were also taken. The investigation revealed that:Divination trays from Isale-Oyo combine features found on both Ijebu and Osogbo trays. The Esu figure continues to occupy the top central position on Oyo divination trays, even though with representational variations elsewhere in Yorubaland. Some divination trays in Oyo carry no decorations on their borders, and in some recent cases, ceramic plates are now used for divination.
