Building Performance Study : Royal Customs Training College Bukit Bahru, Malacca, Malaysia / Kamaruddin Bujang
This report is part of the course requirement to obtain
a paper of Advanced Diploma in Architecture. It is aimed
to provide a general analysis regarding building performance that may help in the designing of the new training centre in Johore Bahru - Royal Customs Academy. The selected building is Royal Customs Training College in
Malacca. The evaluation made is mostly through observation and there less investigation through interview and research. Any prejudice statements are the fault of the author to make such conclusion. It is hoped that this finding will help in giving valuable materials for design guidance and to develop to more fruitful method of work. Undoubtedly it is also important for the administrator of the college in planning future development
Penggunaan Video Call Whatsapp Oleh Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Islam Riau Kota Pekanbaru
Whatsapp is an instant messaging app. By using Whatsapp, users can communicate anywhere and anytime with people who also have the application as long as it is connected to the internet network connection. This research is about using the Whatsapp video call fitur by the students Faculty of Communication Sciences, Islamic University of Riau. The method used is qualitative exploratory method and the theory used is snowball sampling. The author has 10 speakers who actively use Whatsapp which is the status of student Faculty of Communication Sciences, Islamic University of Riau. From the results of the research, the authors found the reason why the students are more inclined to use Whatsapp as a communication medium, because in general Whatsapp has simple fitur and the connection to the internet is fairly stable, and is also a development of the times. In this research, the author wants to saw how the used of Whatsapp video call fitur and the impact of using the Whatsapp video call fitur. The positive impact of used of Whatsapp's video call fitur is being able to reduce a little longing with family or friends who rarely meet and are also used as entertainment media. The negative impact of the video call Whatsapp fitur is that students or users become less socialized with the environment, then forget about the time spent video call
A review of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for Executive Information System (EIS) development in education domain
This study reviews the critical success factors (CSFs) of executive information systems (EIS) development for education domain. EIS is the information system that can integrate internal and external information, which allows executives formulate plans, explain the indicators, determine organisation performance, mapping productivity and make strategic decision making. Although the implementation of the EIS can be complying using the standard system development life cycle (SDLC) model, the CSFs that affect its development is important to identify to the success of its initiative. Previous studies have examined various CSF to the success of EIS implementation, but explanation the significant of CSF based on the findings in education EIS development needs to discuss further. The study was accomplished through content analysis approaches based on the previous findings on CSF framework in education EIS development study done by the author. The results explained the review of CSF components discovered, (1) organisational contexts, (2) human resources, (3) development activities, and (4) EIS as a product. These findings potentially used as a reference to the continuing development of education EIS or the development of EIS in any organisation that possess management background similar as an education field

SELF-CLEANING AIR FILTER SYSTEM FOR GAS TURBINE
The project objective is to come out with a new system of self-cleaning air filter system which can operate more efficient compare to the existing self cleaning system. The old self cleaning system is only use the application of timer in boosting of pulse air to clean the filter and this will be a problem as it will shorten the filter lifetime. There is no term of universal filter that can stop all kind of impurities or the air. Application of stage filtration system could be the best way to encounter this problem. This report is about the study of self cleaning air filter system for gas turbine. Self cleaning system is the systems that can self clean the filter at the air intake of the gas turbine while the filter is to dirty. This new system of self cleaning system is operating by using differential pressure transmitter that can measure the dirty level of the filter. The study upon controller tuning method, Programmable logic Controller (PLC), configuration of differential pressure transmitter and the real operation of gas turbine should be done to make sure this project realizable. The author also needs to design the controller by using either using PLC or PID controller. By doing some empirical modelling on process reaction, the author can get the transfer function of the system. The author also needs to choose either PLC is applicable in this project. Some pressure sensor experimental test need to be done to choose the best and efficient sensor that fulfil the criteria to measure the air flow in open area. Site visit had been done at PGB, CUF for the gas turbine real operation. Apart from that, the author also know that the air flow inside the filter house is about 4-5bar. Moreover, from this site visit, the author also gets to know that the system of this self cleaning is a local controller system which means the controller is independent and no access to the control room. The author also takes into consideration to build a small distillation column in this project as it is exist in PGB,CUF self cleaning filter system
Gender, law and society in Islam
The thought that immediately comes to my mind when reading
“Gender, Law and Society in Islam” is the sincere attempt made by
Professor Anis Ahmad, the author, in recording his decades of
experience not just dealing with key issues on gender but as a social
scientist and distinguished professor of comparative religion and
Islamic studies in Pakistan and across the globe. This valuable
experience has been adeptly curated into a framework that is not only thought-provoking but easy to follow. This book contributes to a
growing body of literature on gender studies – specifically on a line
of inquiry that has formed around certain important contemporary
issues in gender from an Islamic perspective. The aim of this book
according to the author is an academic effort to elaborate features of an ethical worldview and the new identity it provides to both genders. He insists throughout this book that this identity is not based on the superiority of one gender over another, but rather on “ethical transcendence” whereupon individuals are elevated due to excellence in their good deeds. His search for viable solutions in the light of guidance from the Qur’an is illustrated through his formation of a theoretical framework which assists readers in understanding the Qur’anic worldview brought forth in this book

Dysfunctional families and crime: righting wrongs
The number of youths involved in crime and who show disregard for law and order is on the rise. What is more disturbing is the rise of violent crimes committed by them. The author argues that these concerns need to be addressed
seriously. Pertinent questions need to be answered to understand the underlying reasons. This article is divided into three parts: the first part defines dysfunctional families and their relationship with crime and some home-truths relating to them. The second emphasises the importance of knowledge and the inculcation of good values to individuals through the family. In the final part some recommendations are made
