Pravopisne napake govorcev slovenščine kot neprvega jezika: korpusni pogled

    No full text
Although speakers of Slovenian as a FL/L2 are expected to know Slovenian orthographic rules to some extent, these are mostly presented indirectly to them or only at higher levels of language learning. This article analyzes three categories of orthographic errors in the KOST corpus. The most common of these are spelling errors, followed by inappropriate capitalization of words and inappropriately joined or divided words

Obnova po principu "build back better" po seriji potresov v Kahramanmaraşu leta 2023-Sanacija in potresna utrditev poškodovanih stanovanjskih armiranobetonskih visokih stavb

Earthquakes have caused, and will continue to cause, damage to the built environment, resulting in casualties, economic losses, and long-term societal impacts. One approach to decreasing future losses is limiting the damage that buildings experience during an earthquake and speeding up their recovery by following the “build back better” principle. The main objective of this study is to contribute to such efforts by showing how a typical reinforced concrete (RC) high-rise building that experienced severe damage due to the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake sequence could be “built back better”. The main contributions of this study are: (1) better understanding of the main causes of the extensive RC building stock damage caused by the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake sequence, (2) a simple, essentially-elastic seismic analysis and design approach for repair and retrofit, that accounts for uncertainties in the characteristics of the existing structures and improves its seismic performance, and (3) a direct comparison of the cost of the proposed repair and retrofit design and the cost of replacing the damaged building with a new building, followed by a broader discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of the two postearthquake recovery options

Zgodovinska avantgarda na meji: primer Trst

    No full text
This article focuses on the city of Trieste, its special features for the Slovenian avant- garde, and the interaction of its artists with nearby urban centers: Gorizia, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Novo Mesto, and Belgrade. It explores how, paradoxically, this multicultural city was one of the essential breeding grounds of Slovenian avant-garde literature, painting, and theater of Černigoj’s constructivist circle, Kosovel’s poetry, and Delak’s performances. Thus, at the beginning of the twentieth century, Trieste became a place of global artistic transitions

Explaining consumer reactions to brand activism with the ABC model of brand stereotypes

    No full text
This paper adapts the agency–beliefs–communion (ABC) model of stereotypes regarding social groups to the context of brand activism. The model predicts that consumers\u27 perceptions of brand agency (A) and brand conservative–progressive beliefs (B) determine brand communion (C). The model also posits that consumers infer a brand\u27s conservative–progressive beliefs from the political orientation of brand activism and that consumers\u27 political identities moderate the directionality of the effect of brand conservative–progressive beliefs on brand communion. Six empirical studies (combined N = 3096) support these propositions. The ABC model clarifies the inconclusive findings of previous studies on the effect of brand activism on consumer reactions. It also explains how brand activism influences consumers\u27 perceptions of brands as either beneficial or harmful to society. Thus, this paper extends the theory of brand activism and consumer perceptions of brands, thereby providing practical implications for the implementation and management of brand activism initiatives

Error assessment in the alignment of patient setup images in prostate radiotherapy

One of the key challenges in modern prostate radiotherapy is the anatomical variation of the patient between treatment fractions, which leads to discrepancies between the planned and delivered dose and reduces treatment accuracy. Adaptive radiotherapy and daily CBCT imaging can mitigate these issues, but the effectiveness of the process strongly depends on the quality of the registration between planning CT and CBCT scans. In clinical practice, alignment is typically performed by manually adjusting the correspondence of fiducial markers, a time-consuming procedure with an unknown and operator-dependent error. In this work, I developed a method that automatically detects fiducial markers in both imaging modalities, correctly pairs them, and computes the optimal rigid transformation using geometric criteria. Particular emphasis was placed on assessing registration accuracy using metrics derived from the geometry of the marker triangle. The results show that this approach provides a consistent and quantitative estimate of registration error and offers a basis for automated clinical alignment in adaptive radiotherapy. Such a tool could reduce the workload of radiation therapists and improve the reliability of daily treatment adaptations

This article examines the deaths of elderly interlocutors after ethnographic research on dia-betes in Belgrade. From the author’s dual position as an anthropologist and a person with diabetes, it argues that grief and mortality are not disruptions but analytical events integral to ethnography. Reframing loss in this way advances medical anthropology’s engagement with chronicity and death, while exposing the structural neglect embedded in biomedical individualism.Članek obravnava smrti starejših sogovornikov po etnografskih raziskavah diabetesa v Beogradu.
