Bibelns Plats I Tidskriften Troligt :  En studie hur Bibeln synliggörs i svenska kyrkans ungas tidskrift Troligt under åren 2007–2015

    No full text
In this essay, the use of the Bible in the magazine Troligt is studied. My material consists of 36 issues of the magazine Troligt. The method is qualitative text analysis and my theory is secularization theory. I have also compared how the Bible is used in other Christian youth magazines from the same time. The magazine Troligt has a continuous view of the New and Old Testament, where none of these books is seen as less relevant. My result is that the magazine Troligt is a very modern secular magazine that uses the Bible mainly in references

Mesoscopic and Atomistic Insights into the Microstructural Evolution of Energy Storage Materials

    No full text
Energy storage is possible through the incorporation of Li-electron pairs into battery electrodes. Depending on the nature of the interactions between the species within electrode materials, different atomic arrangements can form. Weak interactions result in an even distribution of Li forming a solid solution phase, while strong interactions result in short range order and ultimately in phase separation. A material that undergoes phase separation during battery operation is LiFePO4 and structural mismatch at the Li-rich (LFP) and Li-poor (FP) phase boundaries create strain fields that, over time, lead to mechanical damage. This material showcases both phase separation and solid solution behaviour at different conditions due to its complex short and long range order at the atomic scale. Understanding the factors underlying Li order is, therefore, important to avoid unwanted aging effects and in the design of more efficient electrode materials. This is explored in this thesis using computational modelling at many scales. A phase-field model is developed to evaluate the effect of the charge transfer rate on the microstructural evolution at the mesoscale. Two models of charge transfer are confronted, the Butler-Volmer model of ion transfer and the Marcus-Hush-Chidsey model of electron transfer. Depending on the model and the chosen input, different discharge rates and microstructures can be expected. The microstructure evolution also depends on the free energy landscape which generally is approximated with the regular solution model. In contrast, many free energy descriptions parameterized on experimental data showcase an asymmetric form with a third local minima. This minimum represents a metastable solid solution that evolves at room temperature when integrated into the phase-field model. Such an asymmetric energy landscape is also to be expected as the short range order of LFP is lower than in FP. This indicates that accessing the solid solution phase is easier during Li extraction.  Addition of dopants such as Mn further decreases the short range order in the material. Finding routes to stabilize the solid solution phase in LFP will ultimately enhance the battery cycling rate and mechanical stability as seen in the phase-field model, where higher rates and lower strains are now possible.

Green Nanotechnology of Cell Wall Swelling for Nanostructured Transparent Wood of High Optical Performance

    No full text
Transparent wood composites provide new functionalities through active additives distributed at the nanoscale. Scalable nanotechnology includes processing where nanoparticles and molecules are brought into the dense wood cell wall. A novel cell wall swelling step through green chemistry is therefore investigated. Sub-zero centigrade NaOH treatment provides extensive cell wall swelling. Cell wall accessibility is vastly increased so that chemicals can readily impregnate the nanostructured cell wall. Transparent wood with a thickness of up to 15 mm can therefore be fabricated. The optical transmittance and the attenuation coefficient are improved since the polymer is distributed inside the cell wall as a matrix for the nanoscale cellulose fibrils. The proposed technology paves the way for scalable wood nanoengineering

Escaping Conformity : Hur småskaliga företag bedriver kommunikationsarbete

    No full text
This thesis explores how small-scale businesses in Stockholm and Uppsala handle communicative work, with escape rooms as the example investigated. Interviews are conducted with employees managing communicative tasks. Areas of analysis are branding and authoring (as per the Montreal school of communication, in the CCO perspective on organizations). Due to the fact that small-scale businesses are underrepresented in previous research in the field of organization communication, this essay aims to provide further findings and expand upon the research in the field. Moreover, as CCO perspectives, and the Montreal school in particular, are mainly adapted to research on large-scale organizations, this essay evaluates how well it can be used to analyze smaller organizations. The findings show that reported authoring within the companies varies, as due to company size as well as position of the representative interviewed. Further, the extent to which branding is used as a strategy within the organizations varies from virtually no use, to considerable integration internally as well as externally. All interviewees express that the communicative work within their respective companies is as of yet underdeveloped, and requires more work to reach satisfactory capacity

Development and validation of chromatography and mass spectrometry-based lipidomic methods for pharmaceutical lipid emulsion components in total parenteral nutrition

    No full text
Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a life-sustaining therapy that delivers essential nutrients intravenously to patients unable to meet their dietary requirements through oral intake. TPN formulations typically contain a mixture of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, and minerals, with pharmaceutical lipid emulsions (PLEs) serving as a key component. Ensuring the stability and quality of TPN lipids is critical as compositional changes—particularly in PLEs, can impact formulation efficacy and patient safety. This thesis explores the lipidomic analysis of PLEs by investigating lipid stability and degradation over time. This research develops and applies chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (MS): gas chromatography (GC-MS) for Paper I, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC-MS) for Papers II-III and liquid chromatography (LC-MS) for Paper IV methods to investigate important lipid groups, including free fatty acids (FFAs), cholesterol and cholesterol oxidation products (COPs), phospholipids (PLs), and triacylglycerols (TAGs). These tailored lipidomic techniques provided critical insights into compositional changes that may indicate PLE degradation and potential TPN instability. To ensure analytical robustness, all methods were validated according to ICH Q2(R2) guidelines meeting pharmaceutical quality standards. Present study also addresses matrix effects and emphasizes the importance of using appropriate internal standards for accurate lipid quantification. The developed strategies were applied to pharmaceutical-grade egg yolk powders, a key raw material for PLE formulations. These findings contribute to improving lipidomic methodologies for quality control, enabling high-throughput, and reproducible analysis of TPN formulations, supporting safer and more effective patient care

Informell kunskapsdelning i hybridarbetsmiljö : En kvalitativ studie av externa konsulter

    No full text

Gauging generalised symmetries in linear gravity

    No full text
The theory of a free spin-2 field on Minkowski spacetime has 1-form and (d − 3)-form symmetries associated with conserved currents formed by contractions of the linearised Riemann tensor with conformal Killing-Yano 2-forms. We show that a subset of these can be interpreted as Noether currents for specific shift symmetries of the graviton that involve a Killing vector and a closed 1-form parameter. We give a systematic method to gauge these 1-form symmetries by coupling the currents to background gauge fields and introducing a particular set of counter-terms involving the background fields. The simultaneous gauging of certain pairs of 1-form and (d − 3)-form symmetries is obstructed by the presence of mixed ’t Hooft anomalies. The anomalous pairs of symmetries are those which are related by gravitational duality. The implications of these anomalies are discussed

Från experiment till hållbar stad : Svårigheter med uppskalning av innovation från urban living labs

    No full text

Arabic heritage language education in Sweden : Opportunities and challenges

    No full text
In international comparisons, the Swedish heritage-language education (HLE) system is often described as being at the forefront of HLE in Europe. Following recent right-wing shifts in national politics, HLE has now come under threat. This article investigates the current state of HLE in Swedish, focusing on Arabic, throuigh a survey of the literature, statistics on HLE provision and attendance, and two empirical studies. Arabic is by far the most taught heritage-language in Swedish schools; research on Arabic HLE is surprisingly scarce though. Study 1, based on questionnaires and interviews, investigates the attitudes and experiences of parents of 100 Arabic-speaking preschool and primary-school children, cross-sectionally and longitudinally (age 4-10). Interview-based Study 2 sheds light on the practices and experiences of 17 HLE teachers. Both parents and teachers express appreciation of state-funded HLE, but critique similar aspects of its implementation (e.g. scheduling, class duration. Arabic HLE attendance is high. Teachers report that children make progress desptie time constraints and heterogeneous groups. They emphasize how they align their lessons with other school subjects and act as cultural mediators. Unlike some parents, teachers view exposure to different varieties of Arabic in the HLE classroom as beneficial for developing children's linguistic repertoires and promoting pluralism

Managing pre and postpartum mental health issues of refugee women from fragile and conflict-affected countries : A systematic review

    No full text
Objective Refugee or immigrant women residing in conflict prone countries portray elevated mental health related vulnerabilities during their peripartum periods and require effective interventions for improved maternal and child well-being. The objective of this systematic review is to generate evidence on effective interventions for managing peripartum mental health issues among refugee women from conflicted settings. Study design Systematic review. Method Three databases MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (core collection) were searched and Rayyan was used to perform screening. RoBANS tool was used to assess the risk of bias and narrative synthesis was conducted to narrate the result. Result 5425 potential articles were identified and seven studies were included for data extraction after a rigorous screening process. Four (n = 4), out of seven studies discussed improved Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) scores, reduced perinatal distress and depression, increased self-esteem, and knowledge about pregnancy and child development, etc. due to home visits during the antepartum and postpartum period. Two studies asserted the importance of group sessions and social support and found social support was negatively correlated with postpartum depression (r = −0.49, p < 0.0001). Formal/informal, public, private, or volunteered supports were explored to be important for increasing knowledge about maternal well-being, stress management, and childcare processes for refugee women. Conclusion The absence of limited experimental studies opens the opportunity for conducting further research on this topic. Besides, development partners can focus on this review to prioritise the intervention components during designing programmes on this related issue
