Valores de lectura icónica en estudiantes de educación superior: identificación y desarrollo de propuestas
Get PDFIconic reading is understood as the appreciation of an image and its association with reality, through a process of recognition carried out by the recipient. The purpose of this article is to know if Mexican marketing students have the skills to develop reading comprehension competence based on the use of iconic text. A survey of basic, intermediate, and disciplinary competencies was applied to 72 students of this professional discipline at a public higher education institution in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. It was found that they do not have the necessary visual literacy skills given their academic and disciplinary level. Therefore, an educational intervention design is proposed (functional in the curricular or extracurricular modality), with the intention of offering an option that allows students to acquire the competences required for their professional training.La lectura icónica es entendida como la apreciación de una imagen y la asociación que esta tiene con la realidad, mediante un proceso de reconocimiento efectuado por el receptor. El propósito de este artículo, es conocer si estudiantes mexicanos de mercadotecnia, poseen habilidades que les permitan desarrollar la competencia de comprensión lectora a partir del uso del texto icónico. Para ello, se partió de la elaboración y aplicación de una encuesta sobre competencias básicas, intermedias y de especialidad, aplicado a 72 estudiantes de dicha disciplina profesional, en una institución de educación superior pública del estado de Chihuahua, México. Se encontró que estos estudiantes no poseen las competencias de alfabetización visual necesarias para el nivel académico y disciplinar que cursan. Por lo tanto, se propone un diseño de intervención educativa (funcional en la modalidad curricular o extracurricular), con la intención de brindar una opción que permita adquirir las competencias requeridas para su formación profesional

Get PDFNo son pocas las ocasiones en las que revisando los fondos de un archivo encontramos de manera fortuita alguna escritura o legajo que, si bien resultan ajenos a nuestra investigación, son de gran interés y los aparcamos para un estudio posterior. Ocurrió así con el testamento, inventario y almoneda de Francisco Manso, platero activo en Madrid durante la segunda mitad del XVII. Hasta el momento, ha resultado bastante desconocido, y prueba de ello es la falta de referencias sobre su trayectoria vital y profesional. Sin embargo, el análisis de la documentación conservada en el Archivo Histórico de Protocolos de Madrid cambiará su suerte, pues nos permitirá conocer, entre otras cuestiones, sus orígenes, su posición económica y su círculo más cercano. Así pues, con la siguiente lectura, no sólo tendremos la oportunidad de acercarnos con más detalle a su figura, sino de avanzar en el conocimiento del conjunto de maestros del Arte de la Platería en el Madrid del Seiscientos.Sometimes, when we check the funds of a archive, we find, fortuitously, some writing that, although they are not linked to our main research, are very interesting for other studies. This happened with the testament, inventory and almoneda of Francisco Manso, active silversmith in Madrid during the second half of the 17th century. So far, he has been quite unknown, and the proof is the lack of references on his life and professional trajectory. However, the analysis of the documentation preserved in the Historical Archives of Protocols of Madrid will change their fate, as they will allow us to know, among other issues, his origins, economic situation and his closest circle. Thus, with the following reading, not only will we have the opportunity to approach in more detail his figure, but also to advance in the knowledge of the set of masters of the Art of the Silver in the Madrid of the 17th centur

Get PDFA Luis González Bailén nos lo presenta la historiografía como reputado cantero y figura clave en el triunfo y difusión de mármoles y jaspes en construcciones a gran escala. Sin embargo, solo tangenciales y escuetos aportes biográficos ayudan a trazar un catálogo de su participación tanto en obra arquitectónica como en escultura monumental durante el primer tercio del siglo XVII. Contribuimos aquí a sistematizar sus participaciones como cantero, dar a conocer su propuesta de readaptación del enterramiento familiar y las trazas del sepulcro del duque de Sessa y Baena y atribuirle determinadas realizaciones.The Luis González Bailén is presented by historiography as a reputed stonemason and key figure in the triumph and diffusion of marbles and jaspes in large-scale constructions. However, only tangential and brief biographical contributions help to draw a catalog of his participation both in architectural work and in monumental sculpture during the first third of the seventeenth century. We contribute here to systematize his participation as a stonemason, to make known his proposal for the rehabilitation of the family burial and the traces of the tomb of the Duke of Sessa and Baena and to attribute certain accomplishments to him

Estando ya en Madrid, la llegada de unos vasos de pórfido provocó que se pidieran tableros de esta materia para los bufetes. El cambio de función de los leones dejó espacio en las chimeneas para morillos de los cuatro Elementos solicitados a Algardi por duplicado, un encargo cuyas circunstancias aclaramos, así como su estilo e iconografía, y demostramos que se hizo otro juego de morillos similar aún en vida del sevillano.We are reviewing the decoration commissioned by Velazquez to Italy bound for the Hall of Mirrors in the Alcazar in the decade of 1650, and we reveal how the famous lions were conceived with cornucopias on the heads to be used as torch stands before he had to adapt them as table supports. Being in Madrid, the arrival of some porphyry vases caused that they ordered table-tops of this material for the writing-desks. The changing role of the lions made way in the fireplaces for firedogs of the four Elements requested duplicate to Algardi, an order which circumstances we clarify as its style and iconography, and we demonstrate that another similar firedogs set was made being still the Sevillian alive
La fiscalidad municipal en Castilla en el siglo XVII: el caso de Madrid
Get PDFThis paper deals with the history of urban taxation in XVIIth century Castile through an study focused on Madrid. During the XVIIth century the Castilian cities granted many monetary aids (“servicios”) to the Crown (part I). This drove the expansión of urban indebtedness and the introduction of new indirect taxes in most Castilian cities, which exerted an important, although far from overwhelming, influence on the rise of price levels and the simultaneous fall of real wages in Madrid and, presumibly, other Castilian cities (part II). In return for these “servicios”, the Crown transferred Madrid most of the “servicios de millones” levied in the capital and this reduced the capacity of the Royal Treasury to increase its revenues in the long term (part III).Este artículo estudia la fiscalidad municipal en la Castilla del siglo XVII a través de un análisis del caso madrileño. Durante este siglo las ciudades castellanas otorgaron servicios de forma individual a la Corona (parte I). Esto provocó la expansión de la deuda municipal y la aparición de nuevos impuestos indirectos, lo que ejerció una influencia importante, aunque lejos de decisiva, en la subida de los niveles de precios y la caída de los salarios reales en Madrid y, presumiblemente, otras ciudades (parte II). A cambio de estos servicios, la Corona también transfirió a Madrid la mayor parte de los servicios de millones recaudados en la capital, lo que, en el largo plazo, redujo su capacidad para incrementar sus ingresos tributarios (parte III)
