Early stage of Treehouse4Two Retreat Program Evaluation Report

    No full text
The Treehouse4Two (T4Two) Retreat Program is designed for people living with dementia and their carers who are living in the community. The program primarily targets those who have recently been diagnosed with dementia. It offers support, advice and training to empower carers in providing the best possible support for their loved ones, allowing them to live well at home for longer. The program has been developed and implemented by Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) in the Macedon Ranges Shire and Hepburn Shire in Victoria, with funding from the Australian Government Staying at Home Program. This report is an early-stage evaluation of the T4Two Retreat Program, covering the period from August 2023 to February 2024. The evaluation aimed to assess the T4Two Retreat Program’s process and preliminary effects on the participants’ outcomes against program objectives. The evaluation provides valuable insights for the program team and has demonstrated some positive outcomes for participants and highlights needs to continue to look for opportunities to improve the program and ensure ongoing success. The program is funded until 30 June 2026.</p

Coproducing a Cochrane Qualitative Evidence Synthesis: Process, Outcomes, and Reflections on Power

    No full text
Abstract:Reflecting a broader movement toward knowledge democratization, coproducing Cochrane evidence with interest holders outside universities is increasingly encouraged. However, only limited research exists on the approaches used to coproduce Cochrane reviews. Furthermore, the outcomes of coproduction are rarely described. In this commentary, we aim to address these gaps by describing the process and outcomes of coproduction used in a recently published Cochrane qualitative evidence synthesis (QES). We also reflect on power imbalances in our coproduction approach and how these could be minimized in future review coproduction activities.</p

Recycle signs and recycling shopping behaviour in retail stores

    No full text
Purpose - The waste crisis in Australia exacerbates in the household sector, urging local councils and retailers/manufacturers to improve consumers’ recycling shopping behaviour – the most relevant touchpoint to the whole recycling process. In retail stores, packaging recyclability is communicated by either the central route (symbols/signs) or the peripheral route (packaging colours/materials); however, how the effects are differentiated and how the central route can be emphasised for a long-term attitudinal change are unclear. The research investigates these issues by applying the elaboration likelihood model (ELM).Design/methodology/approach - A total sample of 420 respondents were recruited across Australia and managed online by Qualtrics. The data were analysed by using structural equation modelling with AMOS 29 software.Findings - Both routes of processing are significant as per the model. Furthermore, the perceived argument quality of recyclable packaging signs mediates the effect of recycling consideration on consumers’ semiotic knowledge, enhancing attitudinal change via central processing. Recycling considerations display negative effects on recycling shopping behaviour.Originality/value - This research theoretically contributes by extending the ELM with the newly proposed concepts of semiotic knowledge and symbols’ argument quality, further explaining consumers’ processing of information on packaging recyclability. From a practical perspective, the research provides valuable contributions for both policymakers and retailers by showing how central processing can be emphasised for a more sustainable attitudinal change to enhance recycling shopping behaviour.</p
