No full textDanuta Mostwin, lekarz, pisarka i socjolog, która po II wojnie światowej została zmuszona do emigracji do USA, była pierwszym naukowcem oddanym badaniom nad jakością życia imigrantów, zwłaszcza jej rodaków. Nie znajdując możliwości, by nostryfikować dyplom lekarza, postanowiła na początku służyć polskiej społeczności jako pracownik socjalny. Jej wiedza specjalistyczna w tej dziedzinie pomogła jej w badaniu problemów związanych z adaptacją imigrantów i kryzysu rodziny podczas emigracji. Efektem tych badań była rozprawa doktorska pt .: The Transplanted Family: A Study of Social Adjustment of the Polish Immigrant Family to the United States After the Second World War. Autorski termin trzecia wartość został przez nią zastosowany, aby opisać napięcia i wyzwania, przed którymi stają imigranci, próbując odnaleźć swoją tożsamość narodową. Ostatnie lata życia zawodowego poświęciła pomaganiu osobom z problemami psychologicznymi w Family Mental Health Centre, założonym i prowadzonym przez nią w Baltimore.Danuta Mostwin, a physician, writer and sociologist, who was forced to migrate to the USA after the WWII was the first researcher and academic who devoted attention to the wellbeing of immigrants, especially her compatriots. Having experienced problems with her medical diploma recognition she decided to serve Polish community at the beginning as a social worker. Her expertise in this field urged her to explore the problems of immigrant adaptation and the crisis of the family in emigration in her PhD dissertation titled: “The Transplanted Family: A Study of Social Adjustment of the Polish Immigrant Family to the United States. After the Second World War.” She coined the term “third value” to describe the tensions and challenges immigrants face when trying to find their national identity. She devoted the last years of her professional life to helping those with psychological problems in the Family Mental Health Centre founded and run by her in Baltimore

Работа музеев вузов в области просвещения и образования была направлена на внедрение наглядного метода образования и Дальтон-плана в процесс обучения, а также ознакомление широких слоев населения с наукой, историей и природой БССР. Основными формами работы музеев высших учебных заведений в этот период было чтение лекций для студентов и проведение экскурсий среди населения. Критерием эффективности работы музея определяли участием в массовой пропаганде.The article considers the significance of the cultural and educational activities of museums of higher educational institutions of the BSSR in the 1920–1930s. The work of university museums in the field of enlightenment and education was aimed at introducing the visual method of education and the Dalton plan into the learning process, as well as familiarizing the general population with the science, history and nature of the BSSR. The main forms of work of museums of higher educational institutions during this period were lecturing for students and conducting excursions among the population. The criterion for the effectiveness of the museum was determined by participation in mass propaganda
