Enhancing Business Process Performance Analysis through Coverage-based Monitoring
Currently, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) has becoming one of the main languages for creating a description of processes and developing executable frameworks for the management of the process itself. In this context, one important aspect of process management is the possibility of process analysis and optimization, which many times relies on real data collected during the process execution itself. This paper goes in this direction and presents a framework for performance analysis and optimization of the business process expressed in BPMN. It focuses on the collection and evaluation of time based and cost based parameters and relies on an adaptable and flexible event based monitoring infrastructure. In particular, it implements some business process path coverage metrics useful for evidencing business process criticalities and possible improvements of the business process execution. A first validation on a case study is also presented

The Italian project on "Open Dialogue" promote an innovative approach to the treatment of a first psychiatric crises and aims for the involvement of eight Italian mental health departments and the national research council, which carries out the evaluation. Emotional Ambivalence and the Representation of Cultural Diversity Among Italian Youths
Emotional ambivalence is a psychological constituent of most human relationships, especially when in these relationships particularly complex aspects of reality are involved. Across the social sciences, this concept has long been studied with regard to its psychological implications, and its relation with social and political strategic action. The specific relationship between emotional ambivalence and individuals\u27 conceptualization of cultural diversity has not been, to our knowledge, sufficiently investigated. The paper aims to examine this relationship from an interdisciplinary perspective. We draw on qualitative research on youths\u27 conceptualizations about "multiculturalism" in Italy, in particular, on the analysis of anonymous open-ended essays written by Italian youths (aged 14-18) in some state high schools in Central Italy, and of some group interviews conducted in their schools. We present some extracts in which Italian youths express ambivalent feelings about immigration in Italy, feelings that are inextricably linked to various conflicting evaluations both about "Italians" and "immigrants". Our suggestion is that emotional ambivalence can represent a compromise strategy through which these youths not only try to express personal feelings, but also try to make sense of different social categories, and to conform to mostly shared and favorable values of the larger society. Findings demonstrate that different levels of subjective integration and regulation of ambivalent emotions can lead to different, and at times more elaborated, representations of cultural diversity. This research contributes to understanding the interplay between affective, cognitive, and social processes in migration contexts. Moreover, the construct of "emotional ambivalence" can contribute to enriching the various conceptualizations regarding "complex thinking" and complexity theory in general in the social sciences, in particular in the study of humans\u27 relationship with diversity
Implementing Web Classification for TLDs
On the market there are many commercial web classification services and a few publicly available web directory services. Unfortunately they mostly focus on English-speaking web sites, making them unsuitable for other languages in terms of classification reliability and coverage. This paper covers the design and implementation of a web-based classification tool for TLDs (Top Level Domain). Each domain is classified by analysing the main domain web site, and organised it in categories according to its content. The tool has been successfully validated by classifying all the registered .it Internet domains, whose results are presented in this paper.

Digital Waste Sorting: A Goal-Based, Self-Learning Approach to Label Spam Email Campaigns
Fast analysis of correlated spam emails may be vital in the effort of finding and prosecuting spammers performing cybercrimes such as phishing and online frauds. This paper presents a self-learning framework to automatically divide and classify large amounts of spam emails in correlated labeled groups. Building on large datasets daily collected through honeypots, the emails are firstly divided into homogeneous groups of similar messages campaigns), which can be related to a specific spammer. Each campaign is then associated to a class which specifies the goal of the spammer, i.e. phishing, advertisement, etc. The proposed framework exploits a categorical clustering algorithm to group similar emails, and a classifier to subsequently label each email group. The main advantage of the proposed framework is that it can be used on large spam emails datasets, for which no prior knowledge is provided. The approach has been tested on more than 3200 real and recent spam emails, divided in more than 60 campaigns, reporting a classification accuracy of 97% on the classified data.pringer International Publishing Switzerland 2015 S. Hydrogen production by sulfur-deprived TiO2-encapsulated Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells
Encapsulation of individual Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells with TiO2 shells was found to affect their hydrogen production under sulfur-deprived conditions. We showed that a dark incubation of the cells before exposure to light is essential in order to overcome the toxic effects of the (RKK)4D8 catalytic peptide. The TiO2-encapsulated cells were able to produce H2 with about double efficiency during 5-day period compared to non-encapsulated cells. The light-to-H2 conversion efficiency of TiO2-encapsulated L159IeN230Y C. reinhardtii system was estimated to be more than 4% under optimized conditions
Does a barcoding gap exist in Prokaryotes? Evidences from species delimitation in Cyanobacteria
The amount of information that is available on 16S rRNA sequences for prokaryotes thanks to high-throughput sequencing could allow a better understanding of diversity. Nevertheless, the application of predetermined threshold in genetic distances to identify units of diversity (Operative Taxonomic Units, OTUs) may provide biased results. Here we tests for the existence of a barcoding gap in several groups of Cyanobacteria, defining units of diversity according to clear differences between within-species and among-species genetic distances in 16S rRNA. The application of a tool developed for animal DNA taxonomy, the Automatic Barcode Gap Detector (ABGD), revealed that a barcoding gap could actually be found in almost half of the datasets that we tested. The identification of units of diversity through this method provided results that were not compatible with those obtained with the identification of OTUs with threshold of similarity in genetic distances of 97% or 99%. The main message of our results is a call for caution in the estimate of diversity from 16S sequences only, given that different subjective choices in the method to delimit units could provide different results
