Grand Hotel, Kookynie, Western Australia, 16 July 2013 /
Title from acquisitions documentation.; "Britannia St, Kookynie. Built in1902 at the time of the town's peek, it once had a population of 1,500 during the gold rush days of early 1900s. The Grand Hotel is a historic goldfield hotel. Kookynie is situated about 200 kms north of Kalgoorlie. Still open for business as a hotel with accommodation, it's a good example of the architecture of the period. The Hotel is a pleasant blend of old world charm and tradition and hidden modern conveniences. Today Kookynie has become a ghost town with a few as 13 permanent inhabitants.
