    The research aims to determine priority economic sector to develop at Sukoharjo Regency. Based method used in research is descriptive with using time series data for 1998 to 2002 about economic sector on GRDP (Gross of Regional Domestic Product) of Sukoharjo Regency. Analysis method use combination Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift share (SS) Model. Its result, the first sector to develop are Contruction, and the second sector are Mining and quaning, Electricity, Gas and Water supply sector, Trade, hotel and restaurant sector, Transport and communication sector, Agriculture sector and Services sector.     Budidaya Tanaman Garut dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Pendapatan Petani

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pembudidayaan tanaman garut yang dilakukan oleh petani khususnya petani di desa Gilirejo wilayah tepian waduk Kedung Ombo dan mengetahui besarnya keuntungan yang didapat dari budidaya tanaman garut yang diusahakan oleh petani.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dalam bentuk survei tentang pembudidayaan tanaman garut oleh petani di desa Gilirejo tepian waduk Kedung Ombo dan demplot pemupukan pada penanaman garut sebagai pembanding terhadap hasil tanaman garut yang dihasilkan oleh petani. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Mei 2002 hiingga Oktober 2002.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Wilayah desa Gilirejo mempunyai kondisi dan luas lahan yang memungkinkan untuk pengembangan tanaman garut. (2) Cara-cara pembudidayaan tanaman garut yang dikerjakan petani umumnya masih sangat konvensional. Meskipun demikian tanaman garut yang mereka usahakan mampu menyumbang pendapatan bagi keluarga yang cukup bermakna. Dimana rata-rata pendapatan yang diperoleh keluarga dari tanaman garut sebesar Rp. 40.700,- dengan keuntungan bersih Rp. 23.400,-. (3) Pemupukan urea, SP36 dan KCl dengan dosis 100 kg/ha, 200 kg/ha dan 50 kg/ha mampu meningkatkan hasil umbi garut 1 kg/m2 yang setara dengan 10 ton/ha. (4) Tambahan biaya tiap ha lahan akibat pemupukan sebesar Rp. 550.000,- ternyata mampu meningkatkan pendapatan sebesar Rp. 3.465.000,- dan keuntungan sebesar Rp. 2.915.000,-

    The esperiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary addition of feed supplement on ruminal degradation of native grass with nylon bag technique or in sacco technique. The trial was a completely randomized design experiment of a 4 replicates on 2 rumen fistulateed cattles. Native grass was added with 4 kind of seed supplements as a growth promoting feed supplement (GPFS) with different feeds composition, they were consist of iso Nitrogenous and iso Carboneous. GPFS A consist of soybean meal and ketepeng leaf, GPFS B consist of soybean meal and lemuru fish oil, GPFS C consist of Leucaena leaf and ketepeng leaf and GPFS D consist of Leucaena leaf and lemuru fish oil. Four ration were incubated in the rumen for 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 32, 48, and 72 hours. Both dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) disappearance of native grass were not significantly affected by different feed supplement. Also, DM, OM, and crude fiber (CF) during 72 hours incubation were not affected by addition of feed supplements.     The purpose of the study was to test the production capability of 9 sweet potato genotypes under various oil palm shading levels. The field experiment on 7 and 8 year old plantation of oil palm was conducted at Cikabayan Research Station of Bogor Agricultural University from August 2003 to March 2004 and from January 2005 to June 2005. At the first experiment, eight sweet potato genotypes (cultivar Sukuh, cultivar Jago, BB. 96001.2, BB. 97096.4, AB. 94065.10, cultivar IR Melati, BB. 97020.10 and BB. 94572.2) were planted under four oil palm shading levels (90%, 79%, 68% dan 40%). At the second experiment, cultivar Shiroyutaka was planted undershading levels of 92.4%, 90.6%, 89.3%, 86.5%, 0% shading level (100% of sun light transmission) was used as a control at the both experiments.The result showed, that oil palm shading levels from 40%-90% decreased tuber and crown production. Genotype AB. 94065.10 was that most tolerant genotype to oil palm shading. Cultivar Sukuh was medium tolerant. The other genotypes were very susceptible againts the low light transmission stress

    Experiment was carried out in two stages. The first was aimed to study the viabilty of microbe of dried-oven manure and dried-sunshine manure. Completely Randomized Design (CDR), 3 treatments and 4 replications, was used throughout the experiment with content of manure microbe as the parameters. The research result indicates that the way of draining degraded the viability of microbia manure. Manure microbia’s viability of dried-oven manure was better than that of the dried-sunshine manure.The second was aimed to investigate the effect of dried-manure as starter with different time of fermentation on the quality of fermented sugar cane. Completely Randomized Design, factorial pattern 3x3 by 3 replications was employed during the experiment. The first factor was starter levels (A): 0, 15 and 30%, while the second was different time of fermentation (W): 0, 4 dan 8 week. Parameter perceived by fermented fiber component, which analysis by Analysis of Variance, while the differences among the treatment were tested with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), continued by Polinomial Ortogonal. Fermented sugar cane by dry manure with different time of fermentation degraded the rate of NDF and ADF. The best performance was reached at 30% of starter and 4 weeks of fermentation

    The research objectives were to identify Dam Lodan rehabilitation and influencing to production and farm income. The research with survey method, and descriptive analysis. The research was carried out Lodan village, Sarang District, Rembang. The research findings indicated that production and farm income to increased, after the Dam Lodan rehabilited. Padi to increased 171,75% and farm income 169,75%. The sensitivity analysis indicated, when the construction cost increasing 10% and the benefit decreasing 10%, EIRR= 12,03, NPV= 872,740 and B/C Ratio= 1,45

Demand of esthetic needs take a lot portion. This condition give opportunity for market player Ornamental Plant in many kinds of product to fulfill esthetic need for consumer. This paper object: 1) to show the business prospect on the several activity of Ornamental Plant business, and 2) to show the trend of Ornamental Plant demand. The method used Literature Study from many result of the research about Ornamental Plant by Agriculture Faculty at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta.Result of the research indicate that: 1) “Sedap Malam” flower farm by 230 farmers in Grabag Sub-District at Magelang District is profitable as much Rp. 23,718,753,- per hectare per year or Rp. 6,773,585,- per month, 2) Business of orchid cutting flower (Vanda Douglas) at UD. Vanditia in Mlati Sub-District, Sleman Regency of Yogyakarta for the first three years is profitable as much Rp. 345,916,725,- per hectare or Rp. 115,303,575,- per year per hectare with profit rate 56% per year per hectare, 3) Demand of Vanda Douglas orchid cutting flower in Borobudur Park at Magelang Regency and Vanditia Farm fluctuated that influence by religious event, price of another orchid, and price of Vanda Douglas orchid.In conclusion, Agribusiness on Ornamental Plant is proved have profitable and prospect to develop in the next period (era

    KARAKTERISASI: LIMBAH CAIR INDUSTRI TAHU DENGAN KOAGULAN YANG BERBEDA (ASAM ASETAT DAN KALSIUM SULFAT)

    Tofu liquid waste can be further processed to produce some useful product. That can be kept anaerobically to produce some organic acid. The purpose of this study to know the microbial growth behavior characteristic of liquid tofu waste which produce with different production process, such as specific growth rate (m), doubling time (td), multiplication degree (n), product yield, and efficiency of acetic acid production. This study is also aimed to identify the acid type which produce with different production tofu process. The liquid waste which used for this study is obtained from tofu producer which uses acetic acid and calcium sulfate to coagulate the tofu protein. Liquid tofu waste was incubated 24 hour, in ambient temperature(30oC). analysis of total cell count, glucose concentration, acetic acid concentration, and pH value was evaluated in certain interval, such 0, 2, 4, 6 8, 10, 12, 14 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 hour. Acid type identification was evaluated in some phase during fermentation process. The observation result was plotted into a graphic which was shown the relationship of total cell count, with glucose concentration, acetic acid concentration, and also fermentation time. From the analysis of observation result, It can be concluded that, the specific growth rate of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid as protein coagulator is 0,3015/hour, while the specific growth rate of liquid tofu waste with calcium sulfate as protein coagulator is 0,2174/hour. The doubling time of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid as protein coagulator are 2,2991 hours, while the doubling time of liquid tofu waste with calcium sulfate as protein coagulator are 3,1877 hours. The multiplication degree of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid as protein coagulator are  2,605 times, while the multiplication degree of liquid tofu waste with calcium sulfate as protein coagulator are 1,880 times. The growth yield constant (Y p/s) of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid and calcium sulfate as protein coagulator respectively 8,1 x 109 cfu/mg and 8,1 x 107 cfu/mg. The product yield constant (Y p/s) of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid and calcium sulfate as protein coagulator respectively 1,7237 and 0,0306. The efficiency of acetic acid production during fermentation of liquid tofu waste with acetic acid and calcium sulfate as protein coagulator respectively 15,1376% and 2,5699%.
