Neighborhub number of graphs
Let G be a graph. A neighborhub set (n-hub set) S of G is a set of vertices with the property that for any pair of vertices outside of S, there is a path between them with all intermediate vertices in S and G = S v2S . The neighborhub number(n-hub number) hn(G) is then de ned to be the size of a smallest neighborhub set of G. In this paper, the neighborhub number for several classes of graphs is computed, bounds in terms of other graph parameters are also determined
Anthropogenic Impacts on Wetlands of Kerala, India: A Review of Literature
Kerala is blessed with numerous wetlands including rivers, streams, mangroves, backwaters, estuaries, canals, paddy fields, reservoirs, lakes and ponds. Wetlands are an integral part of the state and they endow man with numerous ecosystem services like purification of water, provision of food, flood protection, shoreline stabilization, support to biodiversity, recharge of underground water etc. At present wetlands are under threat as they are victims of population pressure, rapid urbanization and negligent land use pattern. Wetlands of Kerala have become polluted, fragmented and reclaimed for other purposes. If this trend continues, man is endangering not only humans but also other creatures on earth. Scientists and environmental conservationists realized the importance of wetlands and have studied the adverse effects of human activities on wetlands and have also suggested mitigation measures to conserve these fragile ecosystems. Synthesis, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, COX/5-LOX inhibition, ulcerogenic evaluation, and docking study of benzimidazole bearing indole and benzophenone analogs
Inflammation therapy is particularly focused on the development of safer non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), administered to control inflammation. It is typically considered that dual-inhibition of COX/5-LOX, which improves efficacy and has fewer side effects, is an effective technique for combating inflammation. In this perspective, the series of titled compounds (10a-j) were designed, synthesized, and characterized following with the anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and ulcerogenic evaluation. The investigation of the potentiality of the titled compounds (10a-j) displayed a high degree of anti-inflammatory activity. The compounds displaying potential analgesic activity were identified and validated further for evaluation of analgesic, anti-inflammatory activity, and subsequent ulcerogenic evaluation. In addition, the COX-1, COX-2, and 5-LOX analyses were carried out in vitro. Among (10a-j) series, compound 10c with para substitution of fluoro group on the benzoyl ring and two chloro groups at ortho position in phenyl ring of benzophenone was observed to have good inhibitory potency. Furthermore, the in silico docking study was performed by using AutoDock tools docking software. (C) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
Protection of Video Games under Indian and the United States of America Copyright Law
Video games raise various legal questions and challenges for the IPR system, mainly due to the complexity and segmentation of the game and there is some particular problem with a particular video like trademark registration, and copyrighted content directly such as sound effects. The current area of the legal protection of video games is very complex. Though Art. 2 of the Berne Convention protects video games under copyright protection. Vidoe game is also subject to protection under the national law of the member states, protection of video games is required in the world of technology and creativity. The modern game contains audiovisual few features software that interacts with a different part of the video game. The present study employs the doctrinal method of research and is limited to the protection of video games under the Indian Copyright protection and the United State of America Copyright Protection
A review on zeolite imidazole frameworks: synthesis, properties, and applications
Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) consist of transition metal ions (Zinc or Cobalt) and imidazolate (Im) linkers in tetrahedral coordination surrounded by nitrogen atoms from the five-membered imidazole ring serving as a bridging linker, i.e. a link connecting the metal centres in the three-dimensional framework. The crystal structures of ZIFs share the same topologies as those that can be found in aluminosilicate zeolites. ZIFs have advantages over zeolites such that the hybrid framework structures are expected to have more flexibility in surface modification. Due to their interesting properties such as high porosity, high surface area, exceptional thermal and chemical stability, ZIFs are very attractive materials with potential applications including gas sorption, gas separation, and catalysis. Over a decade tremendous work has been carried out to develop ZIFs in synthesis and its various applications. In this review, we have briefly composed the different methods for the synthesis of ZIFs such as solvent-based and solvent-free methods. In addition, its thermal and chemical properties and potential applications in the field of adsorption, separation, catalysis, sensing, and drug delivery have been summarized

A Study on Physico-Chemical Parameters and Water Quality Index (WQI) of Varuna Lake, Mysore, Karnataka, India
Water is the most vital and necessary item for all life forms. The quality of freshwater resources is greatly impacted by anthropogenic activities especially those in the urban vicinities, which are frequently utilized as dumping stations for urban sewage. The Varuna Lake is located on the outskirts of Mysore city and is undergoing rapid transformation as several residential projects are springing up in the vicinity. This study aims to determine the physico-chemical quality of Varuna Lake water. The study
period was divided into three seasons: post-monsoon (October-January), pre-monsoon (February-May) and monsoon (June-September) seasons. Surface water samples from three locations were collected and various water quality parameters were analyzed following standard methods. The mean values of all parameters were compared with drinking water quality standard given by BIS and ICMR. The data was statistically treated using one way ANOVA to find out seasonal variation in different water quality parameters. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to analyze relationship between water quality variables. There was a significant seasonal variation in some of the physico-chemical parameters as revealed by high values of pH, conductivity, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand and biological oxygen demand during pre-monsoon season.From the correlation analysis conductivity was found to have a positive relationship with water temperature and total dissolved solids. Most of the water quality parameters had a substantial negative correlation with pH. The overall WQI index was 80.27, which indicates poor water quality. The lake water was found to be more polluted than previous studies on the same lake
Semiconductor-assisted photodegradation of textile dye, photo-voltaic and antibacterial property of electrochemically synthesized Sr-doped CuO nano photocatalysts
Sr-doped CuO nano photocatalyst has been synthesized by low cost and eco-friendly electrochemical method. The chemical composition, morphology, size, and optical properties were studied by EDAX, XRD, SEM, FT-IR and UV-Vis, PL spectroscopy, XPS and BET analysis. The XRD study revealed that synthesized Sr-doped CuO has a crystallite size of 35.2 nm with a monoclinic structure. The synthesized nanoparticles have a bandgap of 3.1 eV. The photodegradation of methylene blue dye under sunlight indicates that 0.06 g Sr-doped CuO acts as effective catalyst. The antibacterial susceptibility of Sr-doped CuO nanoparticles was evaluated by disc diffusion Kirby-Bauer method using human pathogens Bacillus subtilis (MTCC 121) , Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MTCC 183), Salmonella typhi (MTCC 733) showed good bacterial inactivation. The photo-voltaic studies revealed that Sr-doped CuO exhibits lower activity compared to nano ZnO and higher activity compared to commercial ZnO. Sr-doped CuO nanoparticles scavenges . OH and protects methylene blue from further fading which is confirmed by free radical scavenging activity studies.(c) 2022 Published by Elsevier B.V
First Report of Athelia rolfsii (= Sclerotium rolfsii) Associated with Southern Blight Disease of Macrotyloma uniflorum in India
Studies on the concentration of Ra-226 and Rn-222 in drinking water samples and effective dose to the population of Davanagere district, Karnataka state, India
The concentrations of Ra-226 and Rn-222 were measured in ground water samples of Davanagere district, Karnataka state, India using emanometry technique. Activity of Ra-226 and Rn-222 in groundwater varied from 15.6 +/- 3 to 68.9 +/- 5 mBql(-1) and 37 +/- 4 to 245 +/- 8 Bql(-1) respectively. More than 53% of the water samples showed higher radon concentration compare to standard safe limit of 100 Bql(-1) prescribed by WHO. Effective dose to the public due to Rn-222 in water was found to vary from 0.15 to 1.00 mSvy(-1) with an average of 0.49 mSvy(-1)
