Pemberdayaan Perempuan dalam Pendidikan Pesantren
Empowerment means building awareness about women’s ability to independently determine their life as a human being, without dependence, distress and discrimination. since it’s inception, Islam has affirmed transformation of women without equate with men. Education is an important instrument of the transformation that starts from knowledge to build awareness. The Pesantren (Islamic Boarding school) has a role in this process. Because it’s teachings are based on the teachings of religion to form awareness and attitude based on the religion. However, there are some problems in the curriculum, materials and education methods. Because the curriculum and materials of pesantren based on the explanation in yellow books which are the interpretation of the Muslim scholars on The Holy Koran and Al-Hadith. While, The contents of the yellow book are indicated gender discrimination by some researchers, like the 'Uqu>d al-Lujjain which is become foundation of almost all traditional pesantren. In this case, pesantren need to interact with modern knowledge in gender issues in order to create gender sensitivity. In addition, they need an introduction to the critical learning and improvment the professionalism of the teachers. With that, the education process of pesantren will be more empowered, progressive and in line with the principles of Islam
Respons dan Tantangan Kaum Tua atas Kritik Kaum Muda terhadap Tarekat di Minangkabau Awal Abad 20
This paper is a discription of the debate over the issue of legitimacy of tarekat in the Minangkabau region in the early 20th century between the old traditionalist ulama and the young modernist ulama. The theoretical framework used to analyze the problem above is the theory of challenge and response by the historian Arnold J. Toynbee. The theory is about the dialectics of history and culture due to the causality of the challenges and responses, both in ideas, discourse and movement. The importance of this theory is to answer the fundamental issue about the meaning of tarekat from the perspective of the two groups of ulama along with the things underlying these differences.The conclusions in response to the problem is that the tarekat institution (Naqsyabandiyah-Khalidiyah) with it various form of practice such as geneology, rabitah, suluk, avoid from eating meat and so in the view of the old ulama is the result of ijtihad of the sufi scholars taken from the Quran and Hadis teachings as a way to get closer to the God, while according to the youth ulama, the tarekat practice above are not based totally on the guidance of the Quran and the Hadis. Therefore, regarded as heretical act category. But the youth did not oppose the amali and salafi practice of sufisme with a very tight relationship sufism and sariah
Jembatan untuk Pendidikan Kontekstual: Refleksi Kritis dari Lapangan
Salah satu kritik mendasar terhadap dunia pendidikan saat ini adalah kenyataan bahwa pendidikan, yakni sistem persekolahan, dipandang masih belum mampu menjawab tantangan zaman. Lulusan sekolah masih banyak gagap menghadapi kenyataan hidup di masyarakat saat mereka terjun dan bergelut langsung dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Salah satu pertanda yang dapat dikemukakan terkait dengan problem krisis sosial-ekologis yang dihadapi umat manusia saat ini. Dalam pandangan sejumlah pihak, sekolah dipandang belum cukup mampu untuk menanamkan kepekaan ekologis atau melek ekologis (ecological literacy) terhadap para siswa di sekolah sehingga siswa gagal memberi tanggapan kritis atas krisis sosial-ekologis yang dihadapi umat manusia.Di sisi yang lain, kesenjangan praktik pendidikan di sekolah dengan kebutuhan masyarakat dan tantangan zaman juga terasa kurang terjembatani oleh dunia akademis, yakni pendidikan tinggi yang mengelola jurusan keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan. Buku berjudul Mendidik Pemenang Bukan Pecundang yang ditulis oleh dua orang praktisi pendidikan ini kiranya dapat menjadi jembatan untuk menghidupkan kembali pendidikan kritis dan pendidikan kontekstual. Pendidikan kritis dan pendidikan kontekstual yang dimaksudkan di sini adalah model pendidikan yang mampu menanamkan kepekaan kepada para peserta didiknya atas situasi masyarakat yang bergerak cepat dan praktik pendidikan yang mampu menjawab tantangan zaman di masa mendatang
Meneguhkan NKRI di Madura (Studi Atas Peran Pesantren dalam Membendung Radikalisme di Madura)
Maintaining the integrity of The Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) from a variety of threats is the responsibility of all parties in this country, including Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) as the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia. Madura, as the islands are well known as the island of a thousand pesantrens, it has big role in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. There are four pesantrens in Madura that is thorough in applying their tactical role in maintaining this country from the threat of radicalization that has been threatening the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in Madura. They are PP Nurul Amanah Bangkalan, PP Darul Ulum Sampang, PP Riyadhus Shalihin Pamekasan and PP Guluk Annuqayah Guluk-guluk Sumenep. This study found that the four have role in actively stemming the radicalization in Madura if only culturally, not specifically and tactically. Pesantren can be used as an effective media to reinforce the pillars of The Republic of Indonesia. Moreover, when this country face the threat of radical Islamic groups. Indeed, these pesantrens do not have a strategy that specifically seeks to face with the movement of radical Islamic groups. However, their activities show their efforts to strengthen the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in facing the threat of religious radicalization. For example, by strengthening Islam as rah}matan lil’a>lami>n through study groups by the priest, encouragement to the people to make the law of State as the foundation of life, and so on
Peningkatan Spiritualitas Melalui Zikir Berjamaah (Studi Terhadap Jamaah Zikir Kanzus Sholawat Kota Pekalongan, Jawa Tengah)
Human nature does not just want to be successful in material and social standard. In fact, he has desire to find the ultimate meaning of life based on his own perspective. The quest for the meaning of life could not be enough if just be done using external dimension—it could be reached by spiritual dimension. This study is intended to describe spirituality among the members of Majelis Zikir Kanzus Sholawat in Pekalongan City, Central Java, the form of spirituality, its formative factors, and motivation of the members to attend and join the collective praying. By using a qualitative approach and public opinion surveys, this study shows that the forms of spirituality of Majelis Zikir Kanzus Sholawat could be categorized into three point: (1) meaningful life; (2) more active worship, and (3) a more positive social life. These forms are influenced by two factors: (1) practice the teachings of zikir; (2) understanding the teachings of the leader of majelis zikir. This study also found that there are three motivation among the member of member of Majelis Zikir: a desire to reach spiritual enlightenment, a wish to gain barokah, and a longing for the mursyid (guide) in the tariqa
Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren: Institusionalisasi Kelembagaan Pendidikan Pesantren
Pondok Pesantren has a spesific tradition that is far different with other institutions. It has sub-culture relating with way of life, system of values, system of power and authority in its administration. As the oldest education in Indonesia, it has at least five pillars, namely kiyai, santri, mosque, boarding house and kitab kuning. The modernization has changed the sub-culture and pillars. The models of modern education changed the sub-culture. This article describes that Pondok Pesantren as educational institution has basic aspects called “Falsafah and Idealismeâ€, consist of basic values, pesantren’s tradition and its spirit (ruh al-Ma‘had). Pesantren then comes forward to strenghen its institution—promoting Ma’had ‘Aly and university concept. Biside conserving its traditional values, pondok pesantren should be accomodative toward next valuable thing (al-Muha>faz}ah ‘ala al-Qadi>m al-S}a>lih} wa al-Akhz\u bi al-Jadi>di al-As}lah). There are some aspects should be strenghened in pesantren: academic, administrative, net-working and so on. Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) sebagai Pusat Pengetahuan Agama Masyarakat Pedesaan (Studi tentang Peran MDT di Desa Gapura Timur Gapura Sumenep)
Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) is a non-formal religious education which has been continuously striving to guide the Islamic religious education in the society, especially the younger generation, in an effort to strengthen their faith and piety in order to shaping mental-spiritual by taking into account the times. The study takes a role of MDT as a knowledge center for the main religion of rural communities, especially in Gapura Timur, Gapura Sumenep. This study used qualitative research-phenomenological approach. The data collected by purposive sampling. The data collection technique using participant observation, indepht interview and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive model analysis of Miles and Huberman done in the steps of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of the research show that the existence MDT turned out to be a basic need for people to educate the religious teachings of the most basic as matters of faith, worship and akhlaqul karimah. The basic materials of Islamic religious education turned out to be especially important for people in an effort to strengthen the mental-spiritual people in the an identity crisis and a number of phenomena of decline the morality of the nation lately
Abdurrahman Wahid: Antara Monisme dan Dualisme dalam Tasawuf
The term ‘Tasawuf Nusantara’ (archipelago’s sufism) gets influence from two major models of sufism order: falsafiyah order and sunniyah order. The former was popularly called as monoism, while the latter was dualism. This study is to formulate a conceptual framework of Abdurrahman Wahid (or mostly known as Gus Dur)’s idea on tasawuf. The typical ground of Gus Dur’s sufism is under analysis on the basis of both orders. This study uses a descriptive approch to research in order to address a fundamental question: which one of these two models of tasawuf that Gus Dur could be included? After gathering data, the conclusion of this study is that Gus Dur has been grounded in the monoism order which is later framed into islamic religiousity, indonesia nationality, and mistycal spirituality

This paper explains that the agreement is basically contained the principle of freedom of contract should not be restricted by anyone even including legislation. But subsequent developments, the Indonesian legal practice, the agreement is based on this principle in the form of their failure to intervene parliament through legislation on freedom of contract. While in Islamic law, the principle of freedom of contract is not absolute, but limited. In principle, not much different from the limitations under positive law. Rekonstruksi Pembelajaran Tauhid sebagai Fondasi Inovasi Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Sekolah/Madrasah
Lately, the development of modernization has come with all its effects in human life: positive and negative. Although modernization appears to us to bring the various developments that can be utilized by humans, but on the other hand has resulted in national values and religious order kehidupanan increasingly detached from humanity. It can be seen from the rampant corruption, collusion, nepotism, terrorism, drugs, free sex and same-sex mating, immoral, and other immoral behavior. This phenomenon certainly can not be allowed to continue rampant, should be dammed one of which can be reached through education monotheism educational institutions. In the perspective of Islam, monotheism is the main foundation in building the personality of a person included in the build pradaban public life. Therefore, construction of learning pendidika monotheism in Islam or Islamic institutions must continue to be built, so that the institution can realize learning well, that is capable of transmitting knowledge and religious values on the students themselves. It is none other than as a strengthening of the identity of the students as a generation of nation and religion are responsible for building pradaban in the future. The level of knowledge and maturity of monotheism protege, will determine the future of the nation and religion
