Influence of some technological parameters on the content of voids on the in‑situ thermoplastic composites in Pultrusion, FW and AFP/ATP technologies
The manufacturing processes, such as pultrusion, filament winding and automated fiber/tape
placement, have been used conventionally for thermoset composites. The automated processes can be adapted to
include in situ consolidation for the fabrication of thermoplastic composites.
In this paper, a detailed review of the factors affecting the in-situ consolidation process is presented for each
technology in detail. Experimental tests were performed with changing parameters for the three technologies in
order to minimize voids for the fabrication of thermoplastic composites. Optimizing these parameters ensures
high-quality composite parts with superior mechanical properties who to be used in many applications

Radio Device “9661 HF” – A Modern Communication System for Tactical and Operational Military Missions
The radio device “9661 HF” represents a modern high-frequency communication system designed to support secure, reliable, and flexible communications in tactical and operational military missions. Operating across a wide HF frequency range, the system enables beyond-line-of-sight communication through advanced modulation, encryption, and frequency management techniques. Its compatibility with NATO standards, support for voice and data transmission, and adaptability to mobile and stationary configurations make it suitable for diverse operational environments. By enhancing command, control, and coordination capabilities, the “9661 HF” radio system contributes significantly to mission effectiveness and communication resilience in complex and contested operational scenarios
Bioaccumulation of lead in soybeans grown in naturally polluted soils
The ability of plant species to take up lead from polluted soils may vary due to soil properties and the
level of pollution. This study aimed to investigate the capability of soybeans to take up and translocate Pb in
different plant parts, such as roots, stems, shoots, pods, and seeds. For that purpose, five soybean varieties with
different vegetation periods were grown in naturally polluted soils. Soil and plant samples were digested and
analyzed by ICP-MS. Calculated biotransfer factors indicate a low ability of soybeans to distribute Pb in the
above-ground parts of plants. It was noticed that the content of Pb in the soil has the greatest influence on its
accumulation compared to the soil acidity. The ability of the soybean to distribute Pb in the seed was the lowest.
Anyway, despite this, the results suggest that soybeans grown in highly polluted soil pose a potential risk for
human and animal health due to their ability to store lead in seeds above the permitted concentrations.

Guest Segments and Digital Technology Perceptions in Hotels
This paper examines hotel guests’ perceptions and attitudes related to the adoption of digital technology in the hotel industry, categorizing guests into distinct segments depending on their preferences and behaviour in relation to technology. Using quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive, and analytical approach, 400 participants completed a structured online questionnaire. Findings identified three guest segments – Tech-Enthusiasts, Balanced Digitalists, and Sceptics by cluster analysis, which were later verified by discriminant analysis, ANOVA, and crosstab statistics. Notable differences were observed across age and gender groups, introducing valuable insights for the implementation of digital service strategies in hotels
Between Innovations and Over-Reliance: The Impact of Digital Technology on Guest Perceptions and Expectations in Hotels
This research aims to examine the influence of digital technology on guests' experiences in hotels, with more targeted focus on the risks associated with over-reliance on automatic systems. For the purpose of this paper, quantitative research was employed, using an online questionnaire in which 400 respondents with recent hotel experience participated. The questionnaire addressed several key dimensions: perceptions of digital technology efficiency, experiences with technical failures, attitudes regarding the balance between human interaction and digital technology, expectations and preparedness for potential technical failures, and views on the future development of digital technology in hotels. The analysis involved several statistical methods, including exploratory factor analysis, correlations, multiple regression, and mediation analysis. Results indicate that guests recognize the value of digital technology, with the over-reliance on automation without proper human support leading to increased service vulnerability and decreased trust. In addition, the preparedness of hotels to react to failures mitigates the negative impact on attitudes about future digital technology. Findings further indicate the need to carefully maintain the balance between digital technological efficiency and the human element
Glyphosate toxicity: A review of its properties, exposure and risks to human health
Glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine) is the most widely used herbicide globally, with applications
exceeding 125 million kilograms annually across more than 160 countries. Its broad-spectrum efficacy and
cost-effectiveness, especially in genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant crops, have made it indispensable
in modern agriculture. However, its extensive use has raised concerns regarding environmental persistence
and potential health effects. Although it binds strongly to soil particles, glyphosate and its main metabolite,
aminomethylphosphonic acid, are frequently detected in soil, water, and, to a lesser extent, air and food. Human
exposure occurs primarily through diet, environmental contact, or occupational activities. Biomonitoring
studies confirm widespread low-level exposure, with glyphosate and AMPA detected in human urine samples
worldwide. Toxicological and epidemiological data remain inconsistent. While the International Agency for
Research on Cancer classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans,” other agencies, including
EFSA and the U.S. EPA, found no evidence of carcinogenicity. Evidence linking glyphosate exposure to non-
Hodgkin lymphoma and other cancers remains inconclusive. Environmental studies highlight adverse effects
on soil microorganisms, aquatic systems, and non-target species, prompting regulatory reassessment in the
EU and beyond. Future research should prioritize formulation-specific toxicity, long-term biomonitoring, and
mechanistic studies addressing endocrine, metabolic, and microbiome effects. Integrating toxicological,
epidemiological, and environmental data will be essential for refining risk assessment, guiding sustainable
weed management, and balancing glyphosate’s agricultural benefits against its potential ecological and
health risks.

Clinical outcomes from COVID-19 infection in patients with COPD: 5 years later
Introduction: Evidence of impact of COVID-19 infection on course of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is still limited.
Aim: To assess clinical outcomes of moderate COVID-19 infection in patients with moderate COPD by comparison of disease control, i.e., the frequency and severity of symptoms, level of health status impairment, values of spirometrc parameters and exacerbation risk, registered at two points in time: 2020 and 2025.
Material and methods: We performed a cross-sectional study including 74 patients with moderate COPD divided in two groups. The first group (COVID-19 group) included 37 COPD patients who had COVID-19 infection of moderate severity in 2020. The second group (non-COVID-19 group) included patients with COPD who did not have coronavirus disease in the period 2020-2025. The frequency and severity of symptoms and level of health impairment were assessed by COPD Assessment Test (CAT): lung function was assessed by spirometric measurements, and exacerbation risk was predicted by exacerbation rate registered in the previous year.
Conclusion: Our findings indicated significant impact of the COVID-19 infection on symptoms, patient’s health and daily life, as well as on the lung function and exacerbation risk emphasizing a need of careful monitoring of these patients upon recovery from COVID-19 infection in order to minimize the impact of infection on COPD progression
