    Get PDF
PT. Karya Utama Pratiwi is a company that produces socks from yarn to socks. This company has two parts: the manufacture of socks and the heating section. There are still manual processes in the heating section, or there is still much human intervention. On the contrary, what happens in the sock-making section, which has many machines. The problem that occurs today is that the achievement of production targets is not always achieved, namely as many as 520 finish goods (18720 socks), so the root of the problem is sought. It was found that the production capacity measurement was never carried out, so it becomes the background of research in this study to measure production capacity in the heating section. Capacity measurement begins with measurements at each work station using a predetermined time standard system by paying attention to work movements using the MTM-1 method as input to the ProModel. Initial system simulation results produced an average of 478 in 30 replications. In addition, there are entities experiencing login delays of 10.36 and 21.20 minutes. In some locations, it was seen that they experienced idle time. For example, the oven was 56.97%, above 50%. So, there need to be improvements in order to achieve the target. These things become the basis for making SOPs achieve targets; SOPs are designed and run with ProModel simulations based on possible assumptions. Based on the SOP simulation results, increase production by 2% from the maximum initial simulation conditions from 579 to 594. SOPs will help meet targets and are well executed

Nowadays to gain a competitive advantage in an organization, knowledge becomes important as an asset that must be managed. The experience possessed by humans is tacit and sometimes difficult to extract into a procedure or standard that can be used in an organization. T University is a private university in Indonesia. At the University of T, there is a laboratory that serves as a provider of practical services for students, one of the laboratory is laboratory X. Laboratory X serves to provide an understanding in the Manufacturer process for mass production. Currently, this laboratory consists of 18 assistant labs and one laboratory staff. This laboratory has one Haas CNC Milling used in labwork activity. To keep the machine in optimum condition, good maintenance management of the facility is required especially preventive maintenance, these activities are conducted based on the experience of laboratory staff in handling Haas CNC Milling machine. The problems occur when the laboratory staff is entering the retirement period. Besides that until now there is no standard operation procedure (SOP) developed by the university about how to do preventive maintenance. This research aims to design preventive maintenance work instruction for CNC Milling Haas machine with SECI (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization) methods. Best practice in the form of a work instruction is obtained from the process of knowledge conversion from laboratory staff and head of laboratory. From the exploration result, it is known that preventive maintenance activities for Haas CNC Milling machine consist of spindle cleaning, checking tools, lubrication check and engine coolant, and run test. Brainstorming is done to confirm and select best practices created by both speakers. From the brainstorming result, it is known that the work instructions performed by the laboratory staff are selected by modifying some aspects of checking

Tacit Knowledge Sharing for Individual Innovation Capability at Indonesian SMI

    Get PDF
Knowledge sharing is an asset for industrial organizations. These assets play a key role in global competition. Especially in increasing the innovation capacity of Small and Medium Industries (IKM). In this case innovation means introducing new products, making qualitative changes to existing products, introducing new processes in industrial organizations, creating new markets, and developing new sources of raw materials or other inputs. Much knowledge is stored in individuals, which is called tacit knowledge. Sharing tacit knowledge among individuals associated with industry organizations can increase the capacity of innovation previously explained. This study analyzes the relationship between sharing tacit knowledge and organizational innovation capabilities. Certain SMI employees located in Semarang, Central Java were the respondents for this study. Opinions as many as 45 members of each IKM have been analyzed using the hypothesis testing method. Through this research, it is shown that the level of sharing of tacit knowledge influences IKM's innovation ability

    Get PDF
In the rapid development many organisation rely on context data to support as well as to assist its decision making process. Consequently, Business Intelligence (BI), Dashboard, and Data Visualization emerged as primary tools in early 1990s as a way to help practitioners, data analyst, and data scientist to present context data into an actionable information for decision making process. However, despite its robust and powerful tools, recent study done by Kaggle’s survey in 2017 resulted that in the last five years, many companies were not able to create effective data-driven dashboard due to complex dataset, poor dashboard design, and insufficient storytelling. Hence, understanding of who is going to use dashboard, choosing which data and metrics to visualize in the right context, knowing how to convey information, driving engagement, and persuading audiences are essential in current business practices. This study is aimed to help practitioners to understand the impact of effective dashboard can have on decision making process, to design leveraging dashboard, and to present the dashboard in storytelling. A literature study is performed to gather all relevant information resulted in guidelines for dashboard creator. Case study in financial technology company is applied to experiment and to test the guidelines for assisting dashboard creator to present data-driven insight to the stakeholder

Decision Support System for Determining Textile Industry Waste Water Treatment Institution in Web Based Citarum River

    Get PDF
The Citarum River is the longest river in West Java. The river participates in the development of the Indonesian economy by 20% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). In 2018, the citarum river ecosystem structuring survey team found 31 factories in the Bandung Regency region that dumped the waste produced directly into the Citarum River, one of which was the textile industry. In the production process the textile industry uses textile dyes containing azo dyes. The compound has the potential to produce aminobenzen or aniline which causes pollution. The lack of a communal Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) and improper location is a factor that causes the industry to dispose of production waste water directly into the Citarum River. This study aims to support government activities in improving the Citarum River by designing a Decision Support System (DSS) using a website-based Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the right location to build a communal WWTP.
