An Application of Holistic Feasibility Study to Determine Valuable Chain in Palm Oil Industry: A Case Study
Get PDFPalm has a good market prospect in the future. Almost all parts of this commodity have their benefits, ranging from the leaves to the roots and from upstream to downstream. However, it would be a big problem to determine the most viable commodity to be developed for hundreds of alternatives derivative palm oil products. This paper aims to present an application to help in deciding between multiple options of derivative products of palm oil. The application is built in Visual Basic Macro within Microsoft Excel (Macro Excel) by using the decision matrix method. It will allow to establish the concept of weighting the criteria in order of importance by scoring them against different criteria. The most important criteria, the higher weighting it will be given. So that the proposed application can be implemented to evaluate which are the most valuable coin from all levels of derivative products in the Palm Oil supply chain
Lost Sales Inventory Model in Finite Planning Horizon
Get PDFThis study extends a previous Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model to include lost sales inventory and afinite planning horizon model. An exact algorithm is developed for finite planning horizon lost salesinventory condition. A practical approach is proposed to derive the optimal solution. The algorithm with lostsales inventory and finite planning horizon method improves the total cost of the inventory policy. Ouranalysis shows that the minimum total cost of the finite planning horizon method is always greater or equalto the infinite planning horizon method

Soccer game optimization for continuous and discrete problem
Get PDFSoccer games optimization is a new metaheuristics method that mimics the soccer player’s movement, wherein each player decides their best positions to dribble the ball towards the goal based on the ball position and other players’ position. This paper discussed the method for continuous and discrete problems based on ‘pair cooperation’ between a player and the ball position. The algorithm is implemented in eight benchmark problems consisting of continuous unconstrained problems, continuous constrained problems and discrete problem. The performance of the algorithm for the continuous unconstrained problems is compared to two meta-heuristic algorithms, the genetic algorithm and the particle swarm optimization. The continuous constrained problems and the discrete problem are compared with the result in the literature. The experimental results show that the algorithm is a potentially powerful optimization procedure that can be applied for various optimization problems

Knowledge of each individual that run this business is certainly different, despitehaving the same profession. This difference may appear because of the tacit knowledge possessed by each ofthese individuals. Mastery of explicit knowledge may afford to produce a uniformity, but understanding tacitknowledge is able to produce something more valuable. Tacit knowledge will provide a more tangible impactwhen externalized into explicit knowledge that is more easily understood, and further documented and takeninto deliberation in developing strategies to achieve and maintain the earmark of the SME.Case study is conducted in So Kressh CV. Kajeye Food, a medium enterprise in Malang producing variouskind of fruit chips. The result shows that knowledge externalization only affect the human resources in SoKressh. After that, conducted by making the manual book with the working method as an item that canrepresent the existence of knowledge externalization. Get PDFGarbage are the result of human activity, whether in the form of solid, liquid and gas. Garbage are a common problem faced by the Government. Up to now, a heap of trash becomes a problem which cannot be resolved by the Government. There are some common activity in managing waste such as reuse, composting and landfill. The result obtained from this waste management study in kampung banjarsari are divided by two criteria, priority and weighted. In the priority aspect was found that social aspect has priority of 0,203, economical aspect has priority of 0,106, on the other hand, in the weighted aspect was found that environmental aspects having weight of 0,597 and the technical aspects having weight of 0,094. The results obtained from the calculation of alternative waste treatment technologies reuse equal to 0,485, composting equal to 0,278, and landfill equal to 0,237. To achieve thequalilty objective, an organization must develop a systematic and consistent continuous improvementprogram. The Faculty of Engineering, Atma Jaya Catholic University (FT UAJ) has adopted the ISO9001:2008 quality management system since 2010, however, they still have discrepancy in theimplementation. IWA 2 guide can be a reference for developing a continuous improvement of this system. Theresults of this study showed that the FT UAJ still need to do some aspects of continuous improvement that isa weakness in providing motivation to students, the lack of monitoring of process improvement competency,integrated data management including data derived from outside the institution, customer satisfactionmeasurement, actions to meet the needs of community members ( faculty, staff education, student), and aclear organizational goal. The results confirmed the findings of the internal audit report, there isconcordance between the results of the survey with the findings of the internal audit report. This study is apart of multi –year research, and this paper is the result of the first year of research that aims to providerecommendations on Areas for Improvement / AFI in FT UAJ
