Perbedaan Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw dan STAD Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Penalaran dan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMA
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji: (1) perbedaan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw denganbentuk STAD untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa, (2) perbedaan penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif Model tipe Jigsaw dan STAD tentang peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi matematika siswa, (3) Untuk mengetahui interaksi penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan STAD untuk penalaran dalam hal pengembangan kapasitas dan peningkatan komunikasi matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan semi-eksperimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI siswa SMA di Binjai. Secara acak, satu sekolah dipilih sebagai subyek penelitian, yaitu SMAN 7 Binjai Tahun 2012. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi: tes kemampuan penalaran matematika dan matematika komunikasi uji kemampuan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varians (ANOVA). Hasil utama dari penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa belajar dengan tipe pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw secara signifikan lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematika dan komunikasi matematika daripada siswa yang belajar dengan tipe kooperatif STAD
Efektivitas Pembelajaran Matematika Menggunakan Bahan Ajar Berbasis Integrasi Interkoneksi terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa
Thispurpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of Mathematics instruction employing the instructional materials based on the interconnection integration on students' critical thinking ability. This is a quasi-experimental research utilizing the pre-test post-test control group design. The subjects of this research are all students of Mathematics Education Study Program Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta who enrolled in Mathematics Learning Strategy course (48 students in experimental class and 31 students in control class). Data was collected using test and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out by using t-test. Based on the result, it is identified that Mathematics instruction using the instructional materials based on the interconnection integration is more effective than conventional instruction to improve students critical thinking ability of Mathematics Education Study Program Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakart
Implementasi Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Bernuansa Pendidikan Karakter untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa MTsN
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matemastis antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan CTL dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, untuk menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah pada siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan CTL, untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh atau interaksi antara faktor pendekatan pembelajaran yang diberikan dengan faktor kategori kemampuan siswa menyangkut peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah siswa, untuk Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan dua kelas, yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan pre-test post-test group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas yaitu VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII- 4 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap rataan gain ternormalisasi antara kedua kelompok sampel dengan menggunakan Uji-t. Pengolahan data menggunakan Software SPSS 14,0 for Window dan Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah siswa ditinjau secara keseluruhan dan kategori kemampuan matematika siswa. Pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan kontekstual secara signifikan lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional
Kesalahan Mahasiswa dalam Pembuktian Matematik
Proofs are the key component in mathematics and mathematics learning. But in reality, there are still many students who make errors when constructing mathematical proofs. Therefore this study aimed to identify common errors when the students are constructing mathematical proofs. The participant of this study was 51 of 3rd year students of Mathematics Education Department who enrolled in Real Analysis course in the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. The data of the study were obtained by conducting a test consisting of five questions and interview guidelines. The errors identified in this study were (1) proving general statements using specific examples, (2) inappropriate algebraic manipulation in mathematical induction, (3) incorrect reasoning and assumptions in proving with contradictions, and (4) reasoning errors involving natural numbers in mathematical induction. Hence, further study can be developed learning models that promote the conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and mastery of mathematical proof techniques
Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah dan Berpikir Kritis Matematis Siswa melalui Pendekatan Metakognitif
Mathematical problem solving and critical thinking is two skills that need to be improved through learning mathematics. Metacognitive approach is one approach to improve them. This study aims to examine differences in the improvement of problem solving skills and mathematical critical thinking between students who get learning with a metacognitive approach and students who get conventional learning. This research is an experimental study with a pre-test post-test control group design research design. The population was all students of class XI of SMAN 3 Banda Aceh by taking samples of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class through purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using problem solving ability tests and mathematical critical thinking tests. Data analysis used t-test and analysis of variance. The results show that overall the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving and critical thinking skills that are learning with a metacognitive approach are better than students who obtain conventional learning, and there is an interaction between learning approaches and student ratings on mathematical problem-solving abilitie
Pengembangan Lembar Self-Assessment untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMP melalui Pendekatan Saintifik
Students ability to solve mathematics problems, especially problem-solving questions, is still relatively low despite the 2013 curriculum requiring students to be able to solve such questions and expecting the learning process to apply a scientific approach. This learning process requires students to be more engaged and teachers to facilitate students experiencing difficulties during the learning process. However, teachers have a little knowledge of the difficulties experienced by students in the learning process because the learning process conducted in the classroom does not provide enough information concerning the students difficulties. Students self-assessment can help students in identifying their difficulties, and the teacher can choose the right strategies to overcome them. Therefore, it is necessary to develop learning instruments encouraging students to engage more in assessing their abilities which in turn improving their problem-solving abilities.This study aimed to develop and produce the valid, practical and effective self-assessment sheet and student worksheet to improve students problem-solving skills employing scientific approach. This study was development research referring to the Dick and Carey model. The learning instruments trials were conducted at one of the junior high schools in Banda Aceh. The results of the study found that the self-assessment sheet and student worksheet employing the scientific approach satisfied the criteria of being valid, practical and effective. Thus, teachers and students can use this self-assessment sheet and worksheet to improve the quality of learning in schools
Profil Berpikir Kritis Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Fungsi Komposisi melalui Model Pembelajaran Kolaboratif
Critical thinking is one of the high-level thinking. Mathematics learning in globalization era usually uses critical thinking in solving problems. Mathematics is always thought as the difficult one to be learnt. This research will describe students critical thinking profile in solving the function of compositions through collaborative learning. This reseach can be used as the reference for teachers to recognize students critical thinking profile in their class, and also it can be used to motivate students to enhance their critical thinking ability. The critical thinking criterias are focus, reason, inference, situation, and overview. That criterias include eleven indicators. The type of collaborative learning in this research is Learning Together (LT). This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The data were collected by documentation, observation, test, and interview. The subjects of this research are six students who are two high-achiever students, two medium-achiever students, and two low-achiever students from one of senior high school at Jember. High-achiever students can achieve all criterias of critical thinking and they dominate the role in learning and teaching activity. The medium-achiever students only fulfill focus in the first and second indicator, reason in the second, and inference, situation, clarity, and overview in the second indicator and also can join in the collaborative learning. While, the low-achiever students can only look to other students without get engaged actively in collaborative learning and only achieve focus in the first and second indicators of situation
Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran Pembuktian Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Guided Inquiry untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Geometri Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas
Mathematical proof is one aspect that must be considered in learning mathematics in school. One of the obstacles that students experience on geometry is the difficulty of constructing proof. The specific learning materials are not available yet. To achieve that goal required a learning materials for teaching mathematical proof using Guided Inquiry model. This research is a developmental research using ADDIE model consisting of five stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stage. The experimental subjects in this study were one class of students at year 12 at one of senior high school at Banda Aceh. Based on the results obtained that the learning materials consisting of lesson plan, students worksheet, handout, and test are categorized as valid, practical, and effective. The recommandation of this study is learning materials can be implemented for teaching mathematical proof in senior high school
Basics Statistics Critical Thinking Test : Reliability and Validity Issues
This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of Statistics Critical Thinking Test (SCTT) for Institute of Teachers Education students using the Content Validity Index (CVI). The assessment was conducted through the evaluation by 3 experts and 30 students selected via purposive sampling. The instrument involved 30 items with two main constructs such as evaluation and interpretation. The result of analysis, CVI is 0.99. This instrument also has 0.71 of reliability value. The results of the study prove that the instrument has good validity and reliability. SCTT has a great potential to be promoted as a good measurement instrument. This instrument is recommended to be used to measure critical thinking level for others college students
Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa SMP melalui Model Problem Based Learning
Creative thinking ability of students is still low and less attention in the implementation of the learning of mathematics. Some efforts are needed to foster creative thinking ability because of lack of creative thinking ability in the learning of mathematics. One of effort is applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. The purpose of this research was (1) to describe the creative thinking ability of students during the learning process with PBL Model, and (2) to determine the increase of the creative thinking ability of students after implementation of PBL model. This research used mixed methods with concurrent triangulation strategy. Samples were selected by random sampling from all grade 8 students from one of junior high school at Banda Aceh, those were 28 students in class VIII-3. The instrument used to obtain data of the creative thinking ability of students after learning with PBL Model was test and observation. The instrument used to obtain data to determine the increase of the students creative thinking ability after learning with the PBL model were pretest and posttest. Test and observations were analyzed by using an assessment rubric of creative thinking abilities with descriptive qualitative method. The result of pretest and posttest were analyzed by statistical tests using t-test. The results showed that the students were creative in solving problems during the learning process with model of PBL. There was increasing creative thinking abilities of students after learning with PBL Model. The implication of this research indicates that creative thinking abilities of students increase through PBL model
