    Plant Species Diversity of Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve, Central Sulawesi

    Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve is one of eight nature reserves in Central Sulawesi. In 1998, Pangi Binangga was designated as a conservation area, however, the diversty of the plant species not been recognized and reported. Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve is a lowland forest with vegetation and grassland forest, with primary and secondary forest vegetation. The objectives of this research are to provide informations of plant species in the Pangi Binangga Area. Exploration method was conducted throughout the region, and found 518 species. Rubiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Moraceae, Compositae, Araceae, Urticaceae dominate in Pangi Binangga forest. Four species of them are endemic to Sulawesi, five species belong to endangered plants and 10 species of invasive. Keywords: biodiversity, endemic, invasive, Sulawes

    Diversity of Invasif Aliens Species in Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Grand Forest Park, Jambi

    Research on invasive plant diversity in Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Forest Park area has been done from July - sepetember 2017 by quadraticmethod. The plot is placed by purposive sampling consisting of 52 plots with a plot size of 5m x 5 m. The result of this research showed that invasiveplant composition was 7 families, 9 species and 1.775 individuals. Clidemia hirta has the highest important index value of 51.53% and Acaciamangium has the second highest important value index after Clidemia hirta is 34.46%. The diversity index of invasive plants is H \u27= 1.8. Clidemiahirta is a weed and invasive plant growing on agricultural land, logged over and an aggressive pioneer species due to its rapidly germination ofseeds, which invade open spaces, landslides, roadsides, paths, logged-over fields and humps forest and can grow fast and tolerant to shade. Acaciamangium is the second dominant species found after Clidemia hirta. Acacia mangium is known by the name of acacia, its rapid growth, good qualityof wood and its tolerant ability to various kinds of soil and environment.Keywords: composition, invasive aliens species, structure

    Species Association of Corpse Storage Trees in Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park, East Nusa Tenggara

    Indonesia has a high biodiversity with various uses. Sundacarpus amarus (Blume) C.N. Page. (Mbakuhau) and Tetrameles nudiflora R.Br. (Marra) located in the Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park East Sumba District, East Nusa Tenggara which are used by the community as corpse storage trees. Lack of information about the utilization of these plants causes the potential abandonment. This study aims to determine the species association of corpse storage trees with others and environmental factors that influence their spread. The method used is a combination between line and block at growth levels, that is seedling, sapling, pole and tree. The species association was analyzed by Chi Square Test and Jaccard Index Test. The results showed that S. amarus was associated with other species at various growth levels. Meanwhile, T. nudiflora was associated only at seedling and tree level. The presence and spread of S. amarus influenced by air humidity, light, elevation and soil temperature. T. nudiflora  plants are only exposed to temperature. Keywords: association, corpse storage trees, East Nusa Tenggar

    Stakeholder Analysis on Community Forest Management Partnership and Independent

    Timber of community forest in one of the alternative supply that is needed by the wood processing industries. Partnership and independent of community forest can be realized in the relationship between farmers and industry. However, parts of the community forest system is represented by different stakeholders, which are interrelated in a system. This study analyzed stakeholder interest, influences and relationships between partnership and independent of community forest management. The study was conducted in Probolinggo District and respondents were selected using snowball sampling. There were 15 stakeholders identified as being involved in the partnership of community forest management of which were classified 4 as key players, 2 as context setters, 5 as subjects and 5 as crowds. There were 12 stakeholders identified as being involved in the independent of community forest management of which were classified 3 as key players, 1 as context setters, 5 as subjects and 3 as crowd. The performances of each stakeholder can be controlled if the integration of relationships and rules has been established. Keywords: community forest, independent, partnership, stakeholder

    Ex-situ conservation is important for animal conservation, one of kind of conservation organization is zoo. One of the factor who must be consider by conservation organization is cage management. The kind of wildlife species who need to be conserve in ex-situ conservation is Sumatran slow loris (Nycticebus coucang). This species listed as endangered by IUCN Redlist. The aims of this study are to assessspace utilization and behavioral of sumatran slow loris in Pematang Siantar Zoo. The method was used are direct observation, interview and focal animal sampling. The higher percentage of male sumatran slow loris behavior is self active behavior, while female sumatran slow loris is sleep behavior.     Interspesific Interactions among Three Species of Deer in Captivity

    In natural habitats, every organism including wildlife interacts with another individuals both in one species (intraspecific) and with other species of (interspecific), and each interaction can be positive, negative or neutral. In deer captive breeding of Cariu Bogor, three species of deer were bred namely bawean deer (Axis kuhlii), timor deer (deer timorensis) and spotted deer (Axis axis), but so far the interspecific interaction among the three species has not been known comprehensively. This research was conducted to aim (1) calculate the time usage for activities, (2) calculate the period of space usage and homerange width of each deer species in the captive area, (3) niche breadth and the scores of niche overlap , (4) the characteristic of interspecific interactions, and (5) the presences or absences of cross-breeding among the three deer species that are bred. Data was collected through field observations by recording activity period, time and place of deer presence simultaneously and the attitude or response given by individuals of different deer species, movement mapping and space utilization in four types of habitat also the types of plants consumed, then analyzed with several methods such as Chi-square test, Levins and Hulbert niche width and Morisita index. The results showed that the three deer species had different time and space usage. Most of the time is used for eating and resting in the grasslands. The homerange area of the three deer species are different, where the bawean deer have a wider homerange (3.6 ha) than spotted deer (2.6 ha) and timor deer (2.2 ha). The results of niche breadth calculation showed that the bawean deer had wider niche (4.3) than the spotted deer (2.1) and timor deer (1.6), with the percentage of niches overlap by Morisita index between bawean deer and spotted deer is 95%, between bawean deer and timor deer is 70.5% and between spotted deer and timor deer is 96.6%. Interspecific interaction among the three species is neutral (zero), and there is no crossbreeding between the three species of deer that are bred simultaneously in one breeding area. Keywords: captive breeding, crossbreeding, interspecific interaction, niche overlapping, three deer species 

    Orientation of Urban Women\u27s to Support The Implementation of Global Indonesia Climate Change; A Comparative Study of Bandar Lampung And Bogor

    Increasing women\u27s participation in supporting climate change improvement is considered important where women\u27s activities are very close to the environment. The cities of Bandar Lampung and Bogor have been identified as being no longer comfortable so that they are potentially used as research sites to analyze the potential of women\u27s participatory funds that are potentially available in Indonesia. The objectives of this study are: 1) to analyze the comparison of perceptions of women in Bandar Lampung City and Bogor City against global climate change and 2) to analyze the comparison of women WTP values in Bandar Lampung City and Bogor City to participate in improving the global climate. Data were taken using closed ended questionnaires, then analyzed by Kruskal Wallis and Dunn Test, T Test and Z Test. The results of the study showed that according to Bandar Lampung City women that reduced RTH was the main problem causing a decrease in environmental quality. Unlike Bogor City women who perceive that population growth is the main cause of the decline in environmental quality. In addition, women in Bandar Lampung City perceive that the increase in temperature and humidity in their area is higher than that of Bogor City. The results of the comparison of WTP values show no significant difference where Bandar Lampung City is Rp. 12.429 / KK / month and Kota Bogor is Rp. 10.226 / KK / month; cumulatively the potential for women\u27s participation in Bandar Lampung City is Rp. 35.025.618.024 per year and in Bogor City Rp.32.138.027.376 per year. Keywords: Climate change, community participation fund, Willingness To Pay (WTP), women’s orientatio

    A Study on Tourism Development in the Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park South Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi Province

    The development of ecotourism, especially in the National Park is important to acquaint the potential of nature in the National Park as the object of ecotourism activities. The purposes of this study were to describe and to asses the potential attractions and patterns of travel demand in Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park (RAWNP), as well as to determine the direction of development ecotourism in RAWNP. Data collection were conducted in from December 2015 to February 2016, through field observation, interviews, literature study and questionnaires toward 30 respondents. Determining the potential attraction value was based on potential attraction criteria through scoring every aspect of the research study, beside that, gap analysis on this study is used to compare actual condition with expected condition and determine which is the gap between two conditions. The tourist attractions that had the highest scores are amboina orchid (Phalaenopsis amboinensis), knobbed hornbill (Ryticeros cassidix) and modus hill. Tourism demand in RAWNP shows that the greatest motivation for tourists is photography activities and birdwatching in savanna.     Perception and Motivation Study as a Determinants of Ecotourism Development in Tanah Datar Region

    During the last decade, many countries are paying special concern to develop of tourism and ecotourism industry cause able to accelerate development in a region. This research aims to analyze stakeholder perceptions and motivation determinants, a long with to formulate ecotourism development strategy. The research method used in closed ended questionnaire instrument and then data were analyzed by using one score one criteria scoring system. The result of the study showed that a local community and government perceptions have as a conclusion is a good or stil the positive sphere so that it is feasible to be develop as all forms of ecotourism. Afterwards, the result of motivations data showed that stakeholders have a high interest (score 6-7) to be actively involved in any form of ecotourism development. In order to realize the integrated ecotourism development in Tanah Datar Region, then some important things that need to be optimized, among others: 1) regional development perspective; 2) social-culture perspective; 3) capacity building perspective; 4) marketing perspective.  Keywords: ecotourism, motivation, perception, Tanah Datar Region
