PENGEMBANGAN MODUL MATEMATIKA DASAR BERBASIS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH
Penelaahan matematika merupakan penelaahan terhadap masalah-masalah pada kehidupan nyata, selanjutnya dibentuk menjadi konsep dan aturan yang didefinisikan menjadi struktur abstrak. Dalam belajar matematika dasar mahasiswa kurang aktif dan masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memecahkan masalah. Bahan ajar yang digunakan, pemecahan masalahnya belum berdasarkan kepada masalah nyata Oleh karena itu diperlukan bahan ajar berupa modul yang berbasis masalah dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yaitu berbasis problem based learning (PBL). Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan modul berbasis PBL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan tahapan: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: pada tahap analisis diperoleh hasil pentingnya mengembangkan modul berbasis PBL untuk meningkatkan pemecahan masalah. pada tahap desain, menyusun kerangka dan materi modul dengan langkah-langkah PBL yaitu: menyajikan, mendeskripsikan dan memecahkan masalah, menyajikan hasil dan kesimpulan, serta menyusun instrumen. Pada tahap pengembangan, produk dikembangkan dan diuji melalui validasi ahli, diperoleh hasil sebesar 82% (sangat valid). Tahap implementasi dilakukan uji coba kelompok kecil sebesar 87% (sangat praktis). Tahap evaluasi dilakukan untuk menilai produk, diperoleh hasil bahwa produk valid dan praktis digunakan serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 7,4 dalam kategori baik. Mahasiswa tertarik mempelajari modul dan terbantu dalam memecahkan masalah. Kesimpulannya adalah Modul Matematika Dasar berbasis PBL telah valid, praktis dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Dalam penggunaan modul disarankan untuk memotivasi mahasiswa dan memberikan penjelasan materi dengan langkah-langkah PBLMathematics is a study of problems in real life, then formed into concepts and rules that are defined into abstract structures. Therefore, teaching materials are needed in the form of problem-based modules and improve problem-solving skills, namely problem-based learning (PBL). The purpose of this research is develop a module based on PBL to improve problem solving skills. The research method used development research: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this study are: at the analysis stage, the results obtained are the importance of developing PBL-based modules to improve problem solving, and designing products using PBL steps, namely: presenting, describing and problem solving, presenting results and conclusions, and compiling instruments. At the development stage, the product was developed and tested through expert validation, is 82% (very valid). The implementation stage, conducted small group trials of 87% (very practical). The evaluation stage is carried out to assess the product, the results are that the product is valid and practical to use and can improve problem solving abilities is 7.4, in good category. Students are interested in studying the module and are helped in problem solving. The conclusion is that the module based on PBL is valid, practical and can improve problem solving skills. In using the module, it is recommended to motivate students and provide material explanations using problem PBL steps
PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS WEBSITE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19
Tujuan dari dilaksanakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis website yang dapat digunakan kapan pun, di manapun dan memenuhi kriteria, serta mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap media yang dikembangkan. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan prosedur pengembangan yang dipakai pada penelitian ini didasarkan pada model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek uji coba yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 35 orang peserta didik kelas X SMA Taruna PBD Medan. Media ini diuji baik dari segi materi dan kelayakan media berdasarkan pendapat para ahli dan guru melalui angket kelayakan. Sedangkan untuk mengukur motivasi belajar digunakan angket siswa. Berdasarkan penilaian oleh para ahli dan guru, media pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Media pembelajaran berbasis website ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa di masa Pandemi COVID-19. The objective of this research is to create website-based learning media that can be utilized anytime, anywhere and meets the criteria, as well as to find out how students react to the generated media. The research approach employed in this study is Research and Development (R&D), with the development procedure based on the ADDIE development model. This study included 35 pupils from class X SMA Taruna PBD Medan as trial subjects. This medium was examined for material and media viability using a feasibility questionnaire and the comments of experts and teachers. Meanwhile, a student questionnaire was employed to assess learning motivation. According to expert and teacher evaluations, the learning media met the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. During the COVID-19 epidemic, this website-based learning material can be employed as an alternative to studying to improve student learning motivation
HONEY-MUMFORD LEARNING STYLE: REVIEW OF MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PROBLEM SOLVING
Mathematical communication skills are very important for students, especially for elementary school students. Students' communication skills in each student are always different, as are different learning styles for each student. The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication process carried out by students in each type of learning style they have. The learning styles referred to refer to Honey-Mumford, namely; (1) Theoretical; (2) Pragmatic; (3) Activist; and (4) Reflective. The research was carried out at SDN 44 Ampenan, with the subjects being all of the fifth-grade students, totaling 39 students. Data collection was carried out by providing 2 instruments, namely a learning style questionnaire and math problems followed by semi-structured interviews to students who had finished. The results showed that the number of students with theoretical learning styles was the highest and students with active learning styles were the least. The results of the study also show that there are differences in mathematical communication in each learning style, but mathematical communication errors made by all types of learning styles are errors in writing formulas and conclusion sentence
PENGEMBANGAN LKPD STEM BERBASIS MIKiR MATERI PERISKOP
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pengembangan terhadap Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) dengan pendekatan STEM berbasis MIKiR untuk materi periskop di kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar dengan menggunakan model Plomp (2013). Tahapan pengembangan yang dilakukan dengan tiga fase: Preliminary Research Phase, Prototyping Phase, dan Assessment Phase. LKPD yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh tiga orang ahli yang terdiri dari ahli media dan ahli materi. Sedangkan kepraktisan dilihat dari angket respon peserta didik dan guru. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan angket. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan LKPD STEM berbasis MIKiR materi periskop dinyatakan sangat valid dengan persentase rata-rata 84,06%, dan produk dinyatakan sangat praktis persentase rata-rata 92,5%.This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet with a MIKiR-based STEM approach for periscope material in grade 5 Elementary School using the Plomp model (2013). The development stage is carried out in three stages: Preliminary Research Stage, Prototyping Stage, and Assessment Stage. The student worksheets that have been developed are validated by three experts consisting of media experts and material experts. Meanwhile, practicality can be seen from the questionnaire responses of students and teachers. The research data were collected by means of observation, interviews and questionnaires. Data processing in this study was carried out by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study showed that the MIKiR-based LKPD STEM periscope material was declared very valid with an average percentage of 84.06%, and the product was stated to be very practical with an average percentage of 92.5%. ANALISIS RESPON MAHASISWA TERHADAP PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN ETNOMATEMATIKA (POLA KAIN SASIRANGAN) PADA PEMBELAJARAN STRUKTUR ALJABAR
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas pembelajaran aljabar dengan menerapkan model discovery learning dengan pendekatan etnomatematika. Konsep etnomatematika yang dimaksud adalah dengan mengaitkan materi tentang grup dengan pola kain sasirangan yang merupakan kain khas dari Kalimantan Selatan. Respon mahasiswa atas proses pembelajaran tersebut diamati dari persepsi selama pembelajaran berlangsung dan hasil penilaian yang diperoleh setelah pembelajaran. Persepsi mahasiswa dirangkum melalui kuesioner yang didalamnya memuat komponen penilaian untuk dosen pengajar yaitu aspek pedagogis dan profesional, sedangkan tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa diukur melalui butir-butir pertanyaan yang memuat aspek afektif dan kognitif. Aspek psikomotorik dievaluasi melalui penilaian video pembelajaran yang dihasilkan mahasiswa. Efektivitas pembelajaran terukur melalui signifikasi peningkatan nilai ujian sebelum dan setelah metode pengajaran diterapkan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa peserta pembelajaran mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar dengan pendekatan etnomatematika telah memberikan peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa yang signifikan baik dari sisi kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik. Hal ini terukur dari respon mahasiswa dalam angket pembelajaran, bukti penyelesaian tugas video pembelajaran dan hasil nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa. Penilaian untuk dosen pengajar juga memberikan hasil yang positif dari sisi pedagogis dan sisi profesionalitas.Improving the ability of mathematical understanding can be conduted by building different learning nuances. If so far the learning process has focused more on the teacher/lecturer (teacher center), a solution is needed to improve student understanding, one of which is by applying discovery learning learning techniques, where students can find their own formulas in learning & reasoning. Along with the desire to raise cultural values in the learning process, the ethnomathematical approach to learning is one of the best solutions to motivate students. This method is a collaborative discovery learning model with an ethnomathematical approach. namely the sasirangan cloth. After taking an ethnomathematical approach in the learning process, especially on topic of special groups, students are asked to provide an assessment of the learning process. The implementation of the Algebraic Structure learning course with an ethnomathematical approach has provided a significant increase in student abilities in terms of cognitive, affective and psychomotor. This is measured from student responses in learning questionnaires, evidence of completion of learning video assignments and the test results. PENGARUH PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI MATEMATIS SISWA
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengevaluasi pengaruh dari penerapan PBL pada kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) matematis siswa, meliputi kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, pemecahan masalah, dan penalaran. Systematic literature review (SLR) digunakan sebagai metode dalam penelitian ini, melalui pencarian pada database google scholar, semantic scholar, ERIC, DOAJ, science direct, atlantis press, dan IOP science dari tahun 2013 hingga 2021, sehingga menghasilkan 78 studi primer yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi yang ditetapkan. Setiap artikel didata lalu diklasifikasikan berdasarkan judul, tahun studi, jenjang pendidikan, ukuran sampel, dan jenis HOTS untuk dilakukan analisis satu per satu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL memberikan efek positif terhadap HOTS matematis siswa apabila dalam proses pembelajaran diterapkan kegiatan belajar berbasis masalah yang berpusat pada siswa dengan guru berperan sebagai fasilitator, serta melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan penemuan mandiri melalui kolaborasi antar siswa dalam kelompok kecil untuk memecahkan masalah secara representatif. Sehingga PBL cocok diterapkan untuk mencapai tujuan dan urgensi dari pembelajaran khususnya dalam meningkatkan HOTS matematis siswa. Temuan penelitian ini juga berkontribusi memberikan informasi yang berkaitan dengan tren dan heterogenitas penelitian terkait implementasi PBL terhadap HOTS matematis di Indonesia sehingga diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi maupun ide untuk penelitian selanjutnya. AbstractThis study aims to describe and evaluate the effect of the application of PBL on students' mathematical higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), including critical, creative, problem solving, and reasoning abilities. Systematic literature review (SLR) was used as a method in this study, through searching the database on Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, ERIC, DOAJ, Science Direct, Atlantis Press, and IOP Science from 2013 to 2021, resulting in 78 primary studies that met the specified inclusion criteria. Each article was recorded and then classified by title, year of study, education level, sample size, and type of HOTS to be analyzed one by one. The results showed that PBL had a positive effect on students' mathematical HOTS if in the learning process student-centered problem-based learning activities were applied with the teacher acting as a facilitator, and involving students in independent discovery activities through collaboration between students in small groups to solve problems representatively. So that PBL is suitable to be applied to achieve the goals and urgency of learning, especially in increasing students' mathematical HOTS. The findings of this study also contribute to providing information related to trends and heterogeneity of research related to the implementation of PBL on mathematical HOTS in Indonesia so it’s expected to be a recommendation and idea for further research. ANALISIS LITERASI MATEMATIS KEISLAMAN MAHASISWA TADRIS MATEMATIKA DITINJAU DARI TIPE KEPRIBADIAN KEIRSEY
This study aims to determine the relationship between Islamic mathematical literacy level and Keirsey personality type (Artisan, Idealist, Guardian, and Rational) in prospective mathematics teacher students, Teacher Training Faculty of IAIN Kediri. In addition, this study also aims to describe the Islamic mathematical literacy ability of prospective mathematics teacher students at the Teacher Training Faculty of IAIN Kediri, in terms of Keirsey's personality type. This research design uses a mixed-methods approach. In the quantitative approach, the type of research is correlational with a total sample of 151 students. While in the qualitative approach, the respondents used were 4 students who represented each Keirsey personality type. Sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling. There is no relationship between the level of mathematical literacy with Keirsey's personality type in prospective mathematics teacher students at the Teacher Training Faculty of IAIN Kediri. The correlation between personality type and the level of Islamic mathematical literacy of prospective mathematics teachers at IAIN Kediri was obtained with a significance of 0.22986. This means that the strength of the relationship between the two variables is included in the weak category. In the process of formulating context mathematically, there is no difference between research subjects in all personality types. All subjects can formulate context, understand, and translate problems into mathematical language or appropriate representations. In the process of using concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning, the findings show that subjects with rational personality types are able to determine strategically in the use of mathematical concepts and are successful compared to other personality types. In the process of interpreting, applying, and evaluating the results, the findings show that subjects with rational and idealistic personality types can check the reasonableness of the solution. PENGEMBANGAN MODUL TRIGONOMETRI UNTUK MENGEMBANGKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA
Problem-solving is one of the most important abilities possessed by prospective mathematics teacher students. One way to develop student problem-solving abilities is to use learning models designed to develop problem-solving abilities. This study aims to develop a trigonometry module to develop valid, practical, and effective mathematics education student problem-solving abilities. This research is a research development (Research & Development). This study develops a trigonometric course module using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The instruments used consisted of validation sheets filled out by experts in the field of mathematics education, student practicality assessment sheets, and learning outcomes tests with problem-solving questions. The quality of the developed modules is viewed from the aspects of validity, aspects of practicality, and aspects of effectiveness. The result is that the module is included in the valid category, with a high practicality value. The aspect of effectiveness based on test learning outcomes with problem-solving problems has increased from the results of the pretest and posttest. The result of the development in this study is the product of a trigonometric course learning module that is valid, practical and effective, and suitable for use by mathematics education students. The contribution of this research is that this module can be used during Trigonometry lectures
ANALISIS KESALAHAN-KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM TES KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF MATERI PECAHAN BERDASARKAN ANALISIS NEWMAN
Kemampuan berpikir kreatif merupakan kemampuan yang diperlukan di abad 21 sehingga kemampuan tersebut merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan. Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang kesalahan siswa dalam menjawab soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada materi pecahan berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan yang mungkin dilakukan siswa terkait soal-soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif materi pecahan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 13 siswa SMP di Pagaralam yang berada di kelas VII. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah descriptive-qualitative. Dalam hal ini, instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal-soal esai tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan indikator-indikator yaitu kelancaran, fleksibilitas dan kebaruan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam Reading, Comprehension, Transformation, Process Skill, dan Encoding berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa kesalahan dalam reading menyebabkan siswa tidak mencapai indikator kelancaran dengan maksimal. Kesalahan pada comprehension menyebabkan siswa tidak dapat mencapai indikator fleksibelitas dengan maksimal. Selain itu, pencapaian pada indikator kebaruan perlu didukung oleh kemampuan siswa untuk menjawab soal tanpa melakukan.kesalahan
DESIGN MATHEMATICS PROBLEM SOLVING TASKS : STUDENTS RESPONSE
Problem solving is an important part of learning mathematics, but the problem solving ability of students in Indonesia is still low. This study develops problem solving tasks in an Islamic context for junior high school students. Practicality was obtained through test questions on one-to-one and small groups of 22 (twenty two) students from several cities in Indonesia as well as analysis of student work results, questionnaires and interviews. The results of data analysis indicate that practicality Islamic context problem tasks have been obtained and have high validity and reliability so that the questions are feasible to use
