Algae in the aerophytic habitat of Račiške ponikve cave (Slovenia)
In the cave entrance of Račiške ponikve, four selected sites with confluent algal growth and different sun irradiance levels were sampled for algological analysis. Altogether, 42 algal taxa were determined, with the highest proportion of cyanobacteria, 30 taxa (71%), followed by 8 taxa (19%) of Chlorophyta and 4 taxa (10%) of Chrysophyta. The favourable ratio of Oscillatoriales vs. Nostocales indicates that flora in Račiške ponikve cave is generally exposed to low photo flux. In the twilight zone of the cave, coccoid cyanobacteria prevailed. Moreover, at all sampling points algae characteristic of water and/or soil habitats were also identified besides typical aerophytic algae

Launching work orders into production of wood enterprise with the multi-criteria decision-making method
Quality information is crucial for planning and running of production in wood industry companies. Information of crucial importance is the following: quality in the production process according to work orders and types of product, the information on the missing materials i.e. constituent parts according to projects i.e. work orders and the information on launching work orders into production. The method of multi-criteria decision-making was used for determining the order of launching group products into production. We studied three main criteria: market factors, organisation-production factors and economic factors. For computer support, we chose the computer programme DEXi, which represents the framework of the expert system for multi-criteria decision-making
Comparison of forest machine cost calculation methods on the case of a cableway
The paper presents results of a comparison of seven different machine cost calculation methods presently used mainly in forest operations cost calculations. The compared methods have a common basis structure, but differ in methodology and item consideration. From the premise of equal inputs and byconsidering yearly productive time on the case of a cableway, the comparisonshows differences in machine costs and thus lesser comparability of machine economy per product unit. Input data for the comparison of cost calculation methods were acquired through machine calendar time monitoring andwork study. According to the compared calculation methods, the material costs per unit of wood extraction can differ by more than 50% in 1,000 machinehours. The major differences are due mainly to the different proceduresconsidering variable costs. The used calculation methods should be born in mind in economy criteria interpretation and particularly in view of competition on the single labour and services market
Dendrochronology and past human activity: a review of advances since 2000
Since 2000, important advances have been made worldwide in the dendrochronology of wood associated with past human activity and cultural heritage. This review summarizes this recent progress in regions with a longstanding tradition of using tree-ring methods, such as Europe and the USA,as well as others such as Asia where developments have been particularly rapid in recent years. The oldest wood generally originates from archaeological sites and the largest amount of wood for research comes from historical structures such as monumental and vernacular architecture. In addition to construction wood, wooden doors, ceilings, furniture, objects of art (such as panel paintings and sculptures), medieval books, musical instruments and boats can also be utilized. Dating is the first and crucial step of the research and is often difficult even in regions where dendrochronology has a long history of use. In addition to absolute dates, dendrochronology has provided extra information that has enhanced historical knowledge from other sources. Behavioral and environmental aspects, and dendroprovenancing are becoming major areas of research in regions with well-developed networks of reference chronologies and active cooperation among laboratories.
