Batak in Semarang is minority, but it doesn t mean omitting its indigenous culture because of their settlement in new place, which is in Semarang. Three steps analysis by Faircough are text analysis, discourse practice analysis, and sociocultural analysis. The texts have been analyzed by linguistic, grammar and vocabulary. Discourse practice analysis related to production and consumtion process. Sociocultural analysis related to outside elements of the texts. The researcher collected data by text analyzed and interviewed a journalist and the editor in chief of Suara Merdeka. The study has been done in Semarang.This research found that Suara Merdeka wrote the text about this case very carefully. There was a special agenda setting to write about it. It is concluded that in the process of communication that exist within this group, all members adhere only to a person who is considered as a senior. Trends goes to coffee shop by teen nowdays be assumed as teen s activity to follow modern life style and it does to complete needs of self actualization. It was concluded that the phenomenon of teenage habit to go to the coffee shop is an adolescent self-actualization behaviors performed by following a growing trend.
