Die Konzeptualisierung eines solchen Lebensraums fängt seiner Meinung nach beim Planen und Bauen von Wohnraum in der Stadt an und mündet im Designen von öffentlichem Stadtraum. Dies wird Stadtplaner sowie Designer vor immense Herausforderungen stellen.
Eric Pfromm deals with the question of what a city worth living in is and how it will have to be designed in order to adjust adequately to constantly changing, globalised and dynamic life. In his opinion, the conceptualization of an environment like that starts with the planning and building of living space in the city and necessitates the design of public urban space. Get PDFStudentische Forschung kann am Institut für Volkskunde/Kulturanthropologie auch in studentische Lehre überführt werden. Im Sommersemester 2019 haben die Bachelorstudierenden Susanne Hochmann, Manuel Bolz und Thea Gatzke ein Studentisches Projektseminar (SPS) konzipiert und durchgeführt. Dabei haben sie Mode aus der Perspektive von Nachhaltigkeit – einem Imperativ für zukunftsorientiertes Handeln im Kontext von ressourcenschonendem Wirtschaften – unter die Lupe genommen. Die Kulturanalytikerin Stefanie Mallon hat das Seminar begleitet und reflektiert in ihrem Artikel ›Mode durchdenken – durch Mode denken‹ die weiterführenden Gedanken, die sie im Laufe des Semesters daran entwickelt hat.
At the Institue of Cultural Anthropology in Hamburg, it is possible to transfer student research into student teaching formats. Three bachelor students have designed and taught a student project seminar (SPS) in 2019. Their research focus was on fashion and sustainability – which can be considered an imperative for future oriented practice in the context of resource friendly householding. The cultural analyst Stefanie Mallon has supervised the seminar and reflects the insights, which she has had in the course of the semester
Teachers and researchers as co-designers? A design-based research on reading comprehension instruction in primary education
Get PDFInsights from scientific reading research only partially resonate in Dutch teaching materials for reading comprehension, and hence in the classroom. As an attempt to bridge the gap between science and educational practice, a design-based research was conducted in which four primary school teachers translated four researcher-provided design principles into practice. In two successive design cycles, the teachers designed and implemented lessons on informational text structures, under supervision of two researchers. The aim of the study was to gain insight into the viability of the design principles and into the level of support teachers need in order to become effective co-designers. Based on data from lesson artefacts, teacher logbooks, panel interviews and lesson observations, we found that the teachers experienced several implementation difficulties. These difficulties were partially due to the fact that there was a tension between two design principles, and that one design principle needed refinement. However, in most cases, the implementation difficulties could be explained by teachers’ limited pedagogical content knowledge. As a result, the teachers needed a high level of support, especially in text selection and revision. Teacher beliefs and habits also interfered with the implementation of the design principles, especially when it came to the importance of working with authentic texts, and teachers’ views on effective modeling.Our study raises questions about the feasibility of equal participation of researchers and teachers at the start of a DBR project, but also shows how DBR can successfully contribute to teacher professionalization if researchers provide adequate support throughout the design process

Get PDFDer Beitrag zielt darauf ab, die Dynamiken magischer und ästhetischer Affekterzeugung in ihrer Historizität und gattungsspezifischen Bedingtheit am Beispiel der französischen Pastorale zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts auszuloten und erklärbar zu machen. Die im frühneuzeitlichen Denken noch fest verankerte Magie stellt, so eine Leitthese, innerdramatisch ein historisches Erklärungsmuster bereit, nach dem die affektiven Figurenbeziehungen geschlossen und gelöst werden. Gemäß der zweiten These fungiert das Spektakel in theatralischer Perspektive als Bühnenzauber zur Hervorbringung der Affekte von Staunen und Bewunderung und somit als Katalysator ästhetischen Vergnügens bei den Zuschauern, die sich so in ihrer barocken Weltsicht bestätigt sehen.The paper aims to explore and explain the dynamics of magical and aesthetic generating of affects in their historicity and genre-specific conditionality using the example of the French pastorale at the beginning of the 17th century. In accordance with the leading thesis, magic, that is still firmly anchored in early modern thought, provides, on the inner dramatic level, a historical explanatory pattern for the conclusion and dissolution of affective relationships between characters. According to the second thesis, on a theatrical level, the spectacle functions as ‘stage magic’ to produce the affects of wonder and admiration and thus as a catalyst of aesthetic pleasure for the spectators who find themselves confirmed in their baroque world view

The authors employ Marianne Hirsch’s concept of ‘postmemory’ as an analytical tool that helps them locate the complex historical and emotional contexts from which this graphic novel receives its impulses. The concrete scenes from the novel are presented and subsequently related to the field of memory and postmemory scholarship. Wider critical debates on how aesthetic articulations of past atrocities influence the next generations of ‘victims’ and ‘perpetrators’ are examined, to ask: What does it mean to inhabit memories of ghostly narratives about perpetrators and how does it form a feeling of post-home

Get PDFSind die 1920er Jahre als eine Blütezeit der Rugby-Themenliteratur zu betrachten? Ob anerkannte Schriftsteller oder einfache Sportjournalisten, mehrere Autoren nutzten tatsächlich die Veröffentlichungsmöglichkeiten der damaligen Zeit, um Geschichten über Rugby zu erzählen. Abgesehen von ihrem anekdotischen oder werbewirksamen Charakter stellen diese Geschichten eine ausgezeichnete Informationsquelle dar, um die Demokratisierung eines Sports zu untersuchen, der sowohl in Paris als auch in den anderen französischen Großstädten die Erhabenheit des Spiels und die Eleganz seiner Talente förderte, jenseits von Rivalitäten und Verdachtsmomenten zur unerlaubten Bezahlung von Amateurspielern. Gleichwohl dient die Literatur der damaligen Zeit auch dazu, die Erfahrungen des Ersten Weltkriegs zu erzählen und zu reflektieren, was einige Schriftsteller dazu veranlasst hat, den Sport auf metaphorischer Ebene dem Krieg anzunähern, um die Bedeutung des „Großen Matches“ a posteriori neu zu hinterfragen. Die vorliegende Literaturanalyse soll einen neuen Einblick in die Geschichte des französischen Rugbys während der Goldenen Zwanziger gewähren.
Aus dem Französischem von Alfred Jürgens. Should we understand the 1920s as a golden age for rugby-themed literature? Indeed, whether they are recognised authors or simple sports journalists, several writers took advantage of the editorial opportunities of the time to tell stories about rugby. Beyond their anecdotal or promotional nature, these stories constitute a real source of information to study the democratisation of a sport which, in Paris as well as in France’s other major cities, encouraged the nobility of the game and the elegance of its champions beyond rivalries and other suspicions during a dispute over the policy of paying salaries to amateur players. However, since literature is also a means of expressing and questioning the experiences of the First World War, some novelists have metaphorically brought rugby and war closer together to better reinterrogate, a posteriori, the meaning of the "Great Match". The analysis of these literary pages aims to provide an original insight into the history of French rugby during the Roaring Twenties.
