No full textMarketing, Eco-tourism Interest and Visitors\u27 Interest This research aims to analyze the potential of ecological tourism interest in Cipta Gelar Traditional Village West Java Indonesia and determine interest factors that have implication on visit intention domestic visitors. This research used survey, observation and indepth interview of stakeholders. Factor analysis used to analize interest factors toward ecological tourism that have implication on visit intention of domestic visitors. Three factors was formed there are Adventure and Culture factors, Tourism Interest and Natural Beauty, and History and Social Values. From those three factors, it is only factor 1 and 3 that imfluence on visit intention with correlation value among factors more than 0,5 there are 0,641 and 0,705. Meanwhile, factor 2 has value less than 0,5 that is 0,402. It has correlation with another factors that is not included in this research.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i2.541

No full textThe Impact of Trade Globalization on Welfare in Moslem CountriesThis study aims at examining the impact of trade globalization on walfare level in the Moslem countries. Our welfare variable was measured using maqashid sharia approach, namely care of religion (proxied by conflict intensity), care of the soul (proxied by death rate), care of intellect (proxied by education participation rate), care of the offspring (proxied by population rate) and care of the treasure (proxied by GDP per capita). Meanwhile, trade globalization was proxied by trade openness. In addition to completed analysis, we also employed inflation and exchange rate as additional control variables. Our empirical model used panel data model consisting 9 moslem countries over 1980-2011. This study verified that trade openness has significantly positive effect on welfare indicators, such as population rate, education participation rate, GDP per capita, and death rates decline in the Moslem countries. Our estimation also found that inflation and exchange rate appear to be significantly affecting almost all welfare indicators used in analysis.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i1.4764

No full textImplementation of Enterprise Risk Management and Firms\u27 Value at Construction and Property SectorsThe objective of this study is to emphasize the effect of enterprise risk management (ERM) and control variable i.e: firm size, leverage, profitability, sales growth, shares volatility, and dividend policy toward firm value. This research employs multiple regressions as tool of analysis. The object of this research is construction and property firms that listed on BEI in period 2012-2014. The result of this research showed that ERM and control variable have a significant effect on firm value. However, partially, ERM doesn’t have significant effect on firm value. Further more leverage and sales growth variable have significant effect on firm value. No full textDeterminants of Customer Satisfaction at Pertamina\u27s Lubricants ProductLubricant industry is one of the strategic industries in around the world. The potential of the lubricant industry in Indonesia grows rapidly along with the increasing demand and the number of a vehicle from year to year. This study aims to analyze factors that influencing customer satisfaction Pertamina Lubricants product and measure how far the customer satisfaction level of its product. This study observed eight categories of Pertamina Lubricants product, with quota sampling technique where each category of the product taken 30 samples, so the total number of the sample are 240 respondents. Multiple linear regression and customer satisfaction index were used in this study. The study finds brand popularity has the most significant effect on customer satisfaction, followed by price and durability. Customer satisfaction level stands at 78 percent, which means belongs in the satisfied category. Managerial implications of this study provide strategies for Pertamina Lubricants to improve their business performance and to increase the level of customer satisfactionDOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i1.4309

The aim of this research is to examine the factors that influenc the profitability in Islamic rural banks. The methods that used in this research is multiple regression. The result shows that only efficiency operational ratio (BOPO) and non-performing finance (NPF) that had impact on profitability. The profitability measured by return on asset (ROA). Otherwise, financing to deposit ratio (FDR) and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) doesn’t had an impact on Islamic rural bank’s profitability. The entire of operating expense is taken from the zakat and infaq funds collected. The Zakat Core Principles are a starting point for the frameworks and standards of zakat-based governance best practices. The Zakat Core Principles is mainly aimed to improve the quality of the zakat systems by identifying such weaknesses in the existing of supervision and regulation. This study try to prioritize the Principles of ZCP and also the essential criteria from each level using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).There are five core principles of charity principle, consisting of: regulation, supervision, collection and disbursement management, risk management, and audit and transparency. No full textThe Stock Portfolios\u27 Performance of Food, Property, and Mining IndustryThis research aimed to analyze the Portfolio\u27s performance of food industry, property, and mining. There are three parameters, namely: Sharpe Performance, Traynor Performance, and Jensen Performance. The three performance measurements assume that there is a linear connection between the return portfolios with the return of some market index. During the period, 2009 to 2013, and the mining and gas sub-sector are more productive than the other sub-sectors. The mining sector is better than the Property Sector and the Food Sector. Then based on the method of Jensen ALPHA it showed the highest performance group of mining stocks, in proportion to the risk which is also very high. The study suggests that the existing has to be maintained and further improved so that the mission to develop sources of potential energy into a profitable investment portfolio can sustain.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i2.535

No full textFinancial Performance and Stock Return: Study at Insurance Companies Listed in The Indonesian Stock ExchangeMuch of the literature said that financial performance had an effect on the stock return, including in insurance company. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of financial performance to stock return of insurance company that listed in Indonesia stock exchange. This research is using multiple regressions as analysis technique. The results showed that all the variables simultaneously had an effect on the stock return. By partially showed that Price Book Value, Incurred Loss Ratio, Premium Growth Ratio, and Total Asset Turnover has no significant influence on the stock return. While Return on Equity has significant positive influence on the stock return and Debt on Asset Ratio, Net Profit Margin has significant negative influence on the stock return.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i1.472
