    The Red betel (Piper crocatum Ruiz.) is one of the types of plants that can be used as a medicinal plant. The Red betel plant can be propagated through cuttings, but the ability of the Red betel leaves to stem cuttings rooted very low. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the concentration of soaking onion extract and coconut water towards the growth of the stem cuttings of red betel. This study used a randomized complete design (RAL) factorial with two levels, namely the first  factor extract of onion (B)  that consists of 4 concentrations, namely control (0%), B1 (2,5%), B2 (4%), and B3 (5.5%). The second factor is cocnut water (K) consisting 0f 4 concentrations of control (0%), K1 (15%), K2 (20%) and K3 (25%), retrieved 16 combination treatments 3 replications  to obtain 48 units of the experiment. The results showed that the combination of onion extract 5.5% + 25% coconut water shows most good for the number of leaves, plant height, wet weight of heading, the heading dry weight, root weight of wet and dry weight of roots

    Red Arowana fish (Scleropages formosus) was known for their bright color. The color patterns were formed by the first and second ring of the scales. This research aims to examine the brightness level of S. formosus scales based on their age. Nine individuals of S. formosus were divided into 3 groups according to their age (1 year, 2 years and 3 years old). Samples consisted of 5 scales were collected from caput, dorsal, and caudal, respectively. The brightness level of the scales were measured by comparing them towards a modified color scaling paper. There were increase in brightness level of the first ring (17,93%) and the second ring (11,47%) of the scales. The brightness level of the scales were also found to be increased along with the fish age

    Freshwater crabs have an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. The purpose of research is to know the freshwater crabs and habitat characteristics of Cabang Panti Research Station in Gunung Palung National Park, Kayong Utara Regency. We use a purposive Random sampling and hand collecting methods to inventory of the freshwater crabs. The Cabang Panti Research Station has a three species of freshwater crabs, namely Parathelphusa maindroni, Terrathelphusa sp. and Isolapoamon spatha. Parahelphusa maindroni is the most abundance in freshwater swamps and alluvial habitat

    Lakum fruit (Cayratia trifolia L.) is one of the plant which is predicted to have antioxidant activity. The aim of present study is to investigate the presence of phytoconstituents in the different fractions like ethyl acetate, methanol and n-hexane of lakum fruit extract. The fruit was extracted using methanol solvent. The result of fractionations showed that the ethyl acetate fraction have yield of 19,7%, while the methanol fraction have yield of 16,8% and the n-hexane fraction have yield of 2,26%. The ethyl acetate and methanol fractions were showing alkaloids and phenolic compounds, while n-hexane fraction only show alkaloids

    The population of frogs in Gunung Palung National Park is indicating a decline due to habitat degradation and hunting. The aim of this research is to determine the species of Anura at five habitat with using Complete Species Inventories (CSI) method combined with Time Search method. The study found 27 Anura species included in 6 families namely Megophryidae (Megophrys nasuta), Bufonidae (Ansonia sp. and A. spinulifer), Microhylidae (Microhyla malang, and M. perparva), Ranidae (Meristogenys jerboa, M. whiteheadi and Staurois guttatus), Dicroglossidae (Limnonectes leporinus and L. kuhlii), and Rhacophoridae (Kurixalus appendiculatus, Rhacophorus sp., R. gauni, and R. pardalis)

    Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is a type of legumes from leguminoceae familly which is beneficial to decrease blood pressure and control body metabolism system. Bean can grow well on rich soil which contains much humus. This research aims at identifying the effect of Nipah banana’s skin waste towards the vegetative growth of bean. The research was conducted for thee months since Febuary to April 2017. It was carried out in a lab of biology deapartment, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura Universty. The research employed completely randomized design ( RAL). It consisted of six level of concentration, such as control (P0) 0 (P1) 12.5 (P2) 25 (P3) 37.5 (P4) 50 (P5) 62.5g. They ware carried out with three repetitions so they could gather 18 experimental units. Providing bean with the banana’s skin waste could give a clear effect towards the plant’s heights, gross weight, and dry weight. Using the banana’s skin waste whice has 50g concentration provides the best resulty for the plant’s height (141.30 cm), the number of leaf (37.67 leaves), and dry weight (12.54 g)

    Dragonflies are one of the odonata order insects used as predators and bioindicators. The existence of a dragonfly is influenced by various types of habitat. Cabang Panti Research Station is a research station located in area of Gunung Palung National Park which has an area of 2,100 ha and has different type of habitat. This research is to know types of dragonfly at Cabang Panti Research Station. This research was conducted in four habitat types is freshwater swamp, alluvial, lowland sandstone and lowland granite. The catching of samples was done by using insect net. Dragonflies found in Cabang Panti Research Station is 787 individuals, two suborders, eight families, 10 genera and 15 species. Two suborders found is Zygoptera and Anisoptera, the eight families is Aeshnidae, Calopterygidae, Coenagrionidae, Chlorocyphidae, Euphaeidae, Libellulidae, Megapodagrionidae, and Platycnemididae. The most commonly species found of dragonflies are Euphaea subcostalis (275 individuals or 34.94%), Euphaea impar (160 individuals or 20.33%) and Rhinagrion borneense (78 individuals or 9.91%) whereas species found are Amphicnemis gracillis (1 individual or 0.12%) and Elattoneura analis (2 individuals or 0.25%)

    Cellulolytic bacteria were a group of bacteria involved in coffee fermentation in the digestive tract of civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). The aim of this research was to detect the presence of cellulolytic bacteria isolated from civet feces. This research was conducted from December 2015 to February 2016. Samples of civet feces were collected from Bandung Zoo. Bacteria were isolated from civet feces and screened for cellulolytic activity in Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) media. Positive result for cellulose producing activity was indicated by the formation of clear zone around the colony. Characterization of the isolated bacteria was done based on macroscopic and microscopic observations followed by biochemical test. A total of 9 genera of cellulolytic bacteria were identified from the civet feces samples, such as Xylophilus (BSKL 1), Caryophanon (BSKL 2), Aeromicrobium (BSKL 3), Exiguobacterium (BSKL 4, BSKL 11), Brochotrix (BSKL 5), Alcaligenes (BSKL 6), Alteromonas (BSKL 7), Halomonas (BSKL 8), Chromobacterium (BSKL 9), Corynebacterium (BSKL 10, BSKL 13), Cellulomonas (BSKL 14) and BSKL isolates 12

    Acacia (Acacia mangium Wild.) have alelokimia compound that can suppress the growth of the plants that it can be used as bioherbicide. This aimto study determined the concentration of the methanol extract of leaf of acacia capable of inhibit the germination and growth of weed, purple maman (Cleome rutidospermae DC.) and grass grinting(Cynodon dactylon L.). This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) with five replication and five treatment consist of control, concentrationmethanolextract0.2; 0.4; 0.6 and 0.8 g mlˉ1.Resultshowed that the methanol extract of leafacacia with a concentration of 0.4 g mlˉ1able to inhibit germinationpurple maman and grass grinting.     Cavendish banana (Musa acuminata L.) is classified into Musaceae Family which is originally from Southeast Asian. The superiority of this banana is its size which is bigger and it has 10 hand of bananas. The addition of growth regulator (zpt) in the tissue culture medium is a vital component in the process of the growth and the development of the plants in vitro. This research aims at identifying the influence of NAA and coconut water toward the multiplication of cavendish banana through in vitro. The research was conducted for three months since January to March of 2017 in the local Laboratory of Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of Aloe Vera Agribisness Centre (AVC) at Agriculture, Fishery, and Forestry Agency of the Pontianak, North Pontianak sub-district. The research empoyed a completely randomised design with four level factors of NAA (N) with concentration of 0 M (N1), 10-7 M (N2), 5x10-6 M (N3), 10-6 M (N4) and coconut water (A) with concentration of % (A1), 10% (A2), 15% (A3) and 20% (A4). The results show that the single N2 treatment could gain the average rates of crown and leaves by 9.33 and the treatment of N4A2 could provide the average rate of shoot by 1,33
