    DETEKSI BAKTERI Salmonella DAN Shigella PADA MAKANAN BURGER DI SUNGAI RAYA DALAM PONTIANAK

    Burger is one of the food in Indonesia that consists of bread, meat, vegetables, sauce, and mayonnaise. This study aims to detect the bacterial presence from genus Salmonella and Shigella in burger food sold in Sungai Raya Dalam, Pontianak. Samples were collected from the location consist of cooked whole burger, precooked bread, postcooked bread, precooked burger meat, postcooked burger meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, sauce, and mayonnaise ware bought from six traders. Based on the research, sixty samples tested in Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) media showed that 28,33% samples was contaminated with by Salmonella and 3,33% samples was contaminated by Shigella, this showed that burger samples in Sungai Raya Dalam Pontianak could be contaminated by bacteria members of the genus Salmonella and Shigella and exceed the threshold that has been determined by SNI is negative / 25

    Kapang is one of microbes found in the air and can cause several diseases. This research aims to find out the kinds of air kapang that contaminated the reading corner in the library unit of Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak. This research was conducted from February to April 2017. The sampling method was non-volumetric air sampling and was identified by profile matching method. The result were analysed descriptively by providing pictures, table, and description. The result shows that there were 12 air kapang that are Aspergillus (In1), Aspergillus (In2), Aspergillus (In3), Aspergillus (In4), Aspergillus (In5), Aspergillus (In6), Cladosporium (In7), Curvularia (In8), Fusarium (In9), Fusarium (In10), Penicillium (In11) and Penicillium (In12). The Environment factors which influenced the existense of air kapang in the library unit of Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak were temperature of 26-360C, humidity 32-60% and light intensity of 82-116 lux

    Iced squeezed orange drinks is one one of processed drinks that made from orange. Good drinking water should not contain pathogenic bacteria or organisms that may harm human health. Coliform is one ofbacteria that may cause disease in humans and being used as indicator bacteria of pathogenic bacteria. This research was aimed to know the MPN value number of coliform bacteria and to identify the bacterial presence of genus Escherichia in iced squeezed orange drinks sold in Pontianak City. The sampling used random sampling method. MPN method was used in order to know the number of coliform in iced squeezed orange drinks in Pontianak City. MPN test result obtained the lowest index value of MPN/mL was 0,14/mL in sample in subdistrict Pontianak City and the highest index value in four subdistricts in Pontianak City was MPN/mL >24,00/mL. It was showed that five samples exceed normal limits in accordance with SNI standards SNI 01-3839-1995 based on Permenkes No 492/MENKES/per/IV/2010.     Rhizosphere bacteria is one of organism types ultilized mangrove forest as one of media for proliferation activity. The rizosphere bacteria has significant contribution on mangrove forest chemically, physically and biologically. The aim of this study is to investigate the types of rhizosphere bacteria at Avicennia mangrove forest region located in Terusan Village, Mempawah Hilir sub-district, West Kalimantan. To collect sample of study, purposive sampling is applied. Bacteria isolation is conducted by using Nutrient Agar (NA) and Pour Plate method. The findings indicate that five genus of rhizosphere bacteria are found at Avicennia mangrove forest region located in Terusan village, Mempawah Hilir sub-district, West Kalimantan, specifically Acinetobacter, Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Serratia and Vibrio

    The agroecosystem is an ecological system that exists within the agricultural environment and one of the natural systems that occur after it is formed by the human. The Dayak people plant local rubber and are left to grow without intensive care along with various types of pioneering plants, fruit trees and woody trees. The aim of the study is to determine the composition and vegetation. The method used in this study is purposive sampling. The results are that there are 36 species consisting of 33 genera and 23 families. Generally, there are 16 tree species, 17 pole species, 18 stake species, and 16 seedling species. The most dominant families in the Nanga Pemubuh Village in all growth rates comprise 3 families, namely Arecaceae, Dipterocaearpace, and Moraceae with each number including 4 types of vegetation. The diversity of vegetation species of rubber agroecosystem is rated as medium or stable values (H' tree = 2,339, H' pole = 2,294, and H' stake = 1,652). Uniformity of the vegetation species of rubber agroecosystem is relatively high 0.794-0.941 and there is no dominance (C) in all growth rates 0.107-0.224

    Yellow spinach (A. blitum L.) is a rarely cultivated plant in West Kalimantan. To overcome this situation, farmers can use Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF). This research aims to find out the effects of LOF from The Hulls of Mung Bean Sprouts towards the growth of Yellow Spinach Plant and to find out the concentration of LOF from The Hulls of Mung Bean Sprouts which generates the highest growth on yellow spinach plant. This research was conducted from February to April 2017 in Biology Laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty, Tanjungpura University Pontianak. This research used completely Randomized Design which consisted of 5 levels of treatment that are without LOF (control), LOF 55 (P1), LOF 60 (P2), LOF 65 (P3), and LOF 70 ml/L (P4). Each treatment was given 4 times so there were 20 units of experiment. The results show that the giving of LOF with 60 ml/L of concentration offered a significant effect towards all growth parameters. The optimum results of the average height of the plant was 20.17 cm, the number of leaves was 17.25, the shoot wet weight was 6.65 g, the shoot dry weight was 0.69 g, the root wet weight was 16 g, and the root dry weight was 9.50 g

    Basal stem rot is one of the diseases in siamese citrus (Citrus nobilis var. microcarpa) wich is caused by fungi Phytophthora sp. Im5. Phytophthora sp. Im5 growth can be inhibited by utilizing natural antifungi compounds deried from plant extracts. One of the plants that has potential to be antifungi is siamese citrus peel. This research aimed to find out the effect of ethanol extract in siamese citrus peel on inhibiting the growth of fungi Phytophthora sp. Im5. This research was conducted for 2 months from March to April 2017 in Microbiology Lab of Mathematics an Natural Science Faculty Tanjungpura University and in Plantation Processing Laboratory of State Polytechnic Pontianak. The research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments, namely control, siamese citrus extract 0,55 g/ml, 0,65 g/ml and 0,75 g/ml. The results show that the inhibition of the growth of fungi Phytophthora sp. Im5 with concentration of ethanol extract of 0,55 g/ml, 0,65 g/ml and 0,75 g/ml was not significantly different between treatments, but significantly different from control. A concentration of 0,55 g/ml is the best concentration to inhibit the growth of fungi Phytophthtora sp. Im5 with a percentage of inhibitory power of 78,41% and the activity level was very strong

    Jelantah is the residual waste of cooking oil. The disposal of untreated waste directly into the environment has the potential to promote damage such as water channels clogging and water body pollution. Form of waste treatment such as biodegradation can be done using potential bacteria such as Pseudomonas spp. which has been known for being effectively in decomposing organic waste. This study aimed to observe the ability of Pseudomonas sp. BOT4 in degrading jelantah with different nitrogen sources i.e. NaNO3 and yeast extract. This study was carried out from August to October 2018. The used cooking oil samples were homemade with deep frying method and the isolate samples were collected from used cooking oil-contaminated sewer water. Split plot design was used with time of incubation as main plots and nitrogen sources as subplots. The parameters observed were cell density and degraded oil weight. The results obtained stated that nitrogen sources of NaNO3 and yeast extract given optimum effect on cell density of Pseudomonas sp. BOT4 on day three each with OD600 value of 1,361 and 2,300. Nevertheless both nitrogen sources did not really give real effect on final weight of degraded oil, each with weight of 1,28 g dan 1,09 g

    Coliform bacteria can contaminate food and lead to intoxication causing symptoms of human digestive tract disorders. Food which is vulnerable to the contamination coliform bacteria is traditional food which is processed in a simple. One of Pontianak traditional food is sotong pangkong. The purpose of this research is to study the contamination of coliform bacteria on sotong pangkong sold on Jalan Merdeka, Pontianak. The research was conducted for three months from September to November 2016 it the Microbiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. This research was observative and descriptive in nature,the data were tabulated by presenting table. The result showed that the sample of sotong pangkong was contaminated by coliform bacteria in which the MPN values was above the maximum limit, except for sample which had been roasted from seller IV (1100 MPN/gram. Meanwhile the lowest contamination on the sample before-roasted sample was recorded from seller II by 11 MPN/gram. The bacteria contamination was above the limit of bacterial contamination based on BPOM No. HK.00.06.1.52.4011 Year 2009 by <3/gram

    Tea drinks are presumed to be contaminated by microbes. The presence of microbes can be one of the biological parameters that can determine whether food and drinks are worth to consume. This study was conducted to determine the value of microbial Total Plate Count (TPC) in tea drink samples sold in Pontianak city. The samples were obtained in six locations which were one cafe and five traditional markets. Samples taken were ice cubes, tea with ice cubes, and tea without ice cubes. Samples test was done in duplicate and the result stated that the lowest TPC were found in tea with ice cubes samples 22,6x102 CFU/ml, while the highest TPC were found in ice cubes samples is 32200x102 CFU/ml
