    Eine Flexibilisierung der elektrischen Netze, insbesondere der Niederspannungsnetze, beschäftigt immer mehr Verteilnetzbetreiber rund um die Welt. Ein wesentlicher Grund hierfür ist die schnelle Integration von dezentralen elektrischen Erzeugungsanlagen, um die Energiewende zu ermöglichen. Dieser Teil der Publikationsreihe zu Forschungen am Reutlinger Energiezentrum REZ hinsichtlich der Automatisierung von Kabelverteilern und der Trennstellenverlagerung beschäftigt sich mit den Ergebnissen der verschiedenen Simulationen

    AI-supported diagnostic of depression using clinical interviews : a pilot study

    For collision and obstacle avoidance as well as trajectory planning, robots usually generate and use a simple 2D costmap without any semantic information about the detected obstacles. Thus a robot’s path planning will simply adhere to an arbitrarily large safety margin around obstacles. A more optimal approach is to adjust this safety margin according to the class of an obstacle. For class prediction, an image processing convolutional neural network can be trained. One of the problems in the development and training of any neural network is the creation of a training dataset. The first part of this work describes methods and free open source software, allowing a fast generation of annotated datasets. Our pipeline can be applied to various objects and environment settings and is extremely easy to use to anyone for synthesising training data from 3D source data. We create a fully synthetic industrial environment dataset with 10 k physically-based rendered images and annotations. Our dataset and sources are publicly available at https://github.com/LJMP/synthetic-industrial-dataset. Subsequently, we train a convolutional neural network with our dataset for costmap safety class prediction. We analyse different class combinations and show that learning the safety classes end-to-end directly with a small dataset, instead of using a class lookup table, improves the quantity and precision of the predictions

    Im Kontext der digitalen Transformation des 21. Jahrhunderts erforscht diese Arbeit die Entwicklung von traditionellen, hierarchisch organisierten Wertschöpfungsketten hin zu dynamischen, vernetzten Multi-Akteur-Konstellationen. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf der Identifizierung und Analyse geeigneter Governance-Mechanismen, die für den Erfolg sowohl einzelner Partner als auch des gesamten Wertschöpfungssystems entscheidend sind. Durch eine Kombination aus umfassender Literaturrecherche und Experteninterviews wurden im Rahmen einer Studie die Beziehungen zwischen Wertschöpfung, Vernetzung und Governance untersucht. Diese hebt die Bedeutung von Transparenz, Motivation und Vertrauen in diesen vernetzten Systemen hervor und diskutiert den Einsatz von Technologien zur Gewährleistung effektiver Governance. Technologien können verwendet werden, um Datensicherheit durch die Nachvollziehbarkeit und Unveränderlichkeit der Daten zu schaffen. In der Literatur wird dargestellt, dass es keine universellen Lösungen gibt, sondern dass individuelle, situative Ansätze erforderlich sind, die juristische Expertise und Technologieeinsatz miteinander verbinden. Die Ergebnisse der Studie deuten darauf hin, dass Kunden zunehmend zu integralen Bestandteilen vernetzter Wertschöpfungssysteme werden, wobei Datenschutz, Gesetze und Richtlinien, Exit-Pläne, Verwertungsrechte sowie die Herausforderungen internationaler Vertragsverhandlungen zentrale Rollen spielen. Die Arbeit liefert wichtige Erkenntnisse über die Notwendigkeit einer kontinuierlichen Anpassungsfähigkeit an sich stetig verändernde Rahmenbedingungen

    A human-centric preference-based workforce dispatching with machine learning using the example of an assembly process

    Human-centric in the context of Industry 5.0 aims to support and empower workers. This paper presents a human-centered approach to workforce dispatching. Thereby, workers’ preferences, skills, availability, and individual strain in the task are considered. To do this, the strain of the workers in the task is predicted using Machine Learning. In this way, the strain on the worker can be reduced by raising autonomy and production can be adapted to the worker’s needs. The practical implementation and evaluation are done in a logistics learning factory

In der Hochschulföderation Süd-West (HfSW) haben fünf Partnerhochschulen einen digitalen Übungsaufgabenkatalog Physik entwickelt. Dieser wurde an den Partnerhochschulen mehrfach erprobt und liegt jetzt als freies Lern- und Lehrmaterial (Open Educational Ressource OER) für Lehrende aus Hochschule und Schule vor. Der Aufgabenkatalog und Ergebnisse aus der Erprobung werden in diesem Beitrag vorgestellt

    Analytical methods for protein kinase and inhibitor screening including kinetic evaluation

    Protein kinases promote cell processes such as cell growth and proliferation similarly in tumor cells and healthy cells. Pharmaceutical research aims at developing small molecules that inhibit tumor growth binding in the ATP-binding pocket of specific protein kinases. To understand the specificity of the inhibitor, thermodynamic and kinetic data of the kinase-inhibitor binding process are important. A broad range of analytical methods may investigate the interactions between protein kinases and inhibitors. Today, however, there is no comprehensive strategy to provide information on both specificity screening and binding kinetics. The purpose of this review is to summarize analytical methods used not only to monitor the protein kinase inhibition, but also to provide kinetic and thermodynamic data on the basis of screening applications. A focus is set on optical biosensing as the most promising techniques. We discuss, that intelligent combinations of methods can provide comprehensive information on protein kinases interacting with inhibitors

    Fostering digital competences : a modular system and practical training for digital twins

    Digital twins enable real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization, thus enhancing efficiency and productivity in future factories. Nevertheless, the effective integration and innovative future utilization requires the broad acceptance and understanding among non-IT-related groups. This paper presents a practical training program that provides detailed guidance on how to create digital twins from real world data. It consists of modules utilizing 3D models in Unity with associated code, MQTT connectivity and network addressability. The integration of real-world data combined with a user interface that displays values in an integrated space enhances the overall usability. This integrative approach based on low-cost hardware and open source software makes the technology accessible to a wide audience and opens up new opportunities for advances in related higher education and employee training

    In dieser Arbeit wird eine Methode vorgestellt, welche eine erfahrungsbasierte Schaltungstopologieauswahl aus einer Wiederverwendungsbibliothek mit mathematischen Optimierungsverfahren verknüpft. Diese Lösung bietet die Vorteile einer vergleichsweise schnellen, auf die Spezifikation angepassten Schaltungstopologieauswahl unter „siliziumgeprüften“ Schaltungen. Weiter bietet sie die Möglichkeit die ausgewählten Schaltungen problemspezifisch anzupassen (Dimensionierungsvorgang). Anders als bei modellbasierten Methoden erfolgen die Auswahl und die Anpassung mit der hohen Genauigkeit eines SPICE-Simulators

    Three-dimensional (3D) surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrates for sensing low-concentration molecules in solution

    The use of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) in liquid solutions has always been challenging due to signal fluctuations, inconsistent data, and difficulties in obtaining reliable results, especially at very low analyte concentrations. In our study, we introduce a new method using a three-dimensional (3D) SERS substrate made of silica microparticles (SMPs) with attached plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs). These SMPs were placed in low-concentration analyte solutions for SERS analysis. In the first approach to perform SERS in a 3D environment, glycerin was used to immobilize the particles, which enabled high-resolution SERS imaging. Additionally, we conducted time-dependent SERS measurements in an aqueous solution, where freely suspended SMPs passed through the laser focus. In both scenarios, EFs larger than 200 were achieved, which enabled the detection of low-abundance analytes. Our study demonstrates a reliable and reproducible method for performing SERS in liquid environments, offering significant advantages for the real-time analysis of dynamic processes, sensitive detection of low-concentration molecules, and potential applications in biomolecular interaction studies, environmental monitoring, and biomedical diagnostics
