Consumer behavior in Augmented Reality : Research landscape and future research
Augmented Reality (AR) integrates virtual content into consumers’ perceptions of the real world. By creating an immersive and engaging experience for customers, AR has received increased attention in marketing research and practice and becomes even more relevant due to the current Metaverse trend. However, to unlock the full potential of consumer AR, among others in the context of customer centricity, knowledge of AR experiences needs to be enhanced. This article addresses this issue by contrasting different definitions of AR from various research streams, comparing AR to other exciting media formats and depicting its unique possibilities. Further, an overview of the challenges on consumer behavior in AR that need to be addressed is provided - as AR is a fundamentally different concept from what is found in other media formats, new variables and challenges arise

Evolution of bed-based sensor technology in unobtrusive sleep monitoring: a review
With the emergence of new sensor technologies, such as fiber optic sensors (FOSs), compared to traditional mechanical sensors, unobtrusive sleep monitoring has been a research focus for decades. This work aims to provide a guide to current bed-based sensor technologies with diverse applications in various settings. We conducted a retrospective literature review, summarizing the state-of-the-art research over the past decade on non-contact bed-based sensor technology in sleep monitoring. We developed a three-category terminology: unobtrusive sensor technology, application, and subject. A total of 263 unique articles were acquired from three databases and screened for relevance, resulting in 21 papers selected for in-depth analysis. The findings revealed eight types of sensors: six mechanical sensors (pressure, accelerometer, piezoelectric, load cell, electromechanical film (EMFI), and hydraulic) and two FOSs (fiber Bragg grating and microbend FOS) that are integrated with or positioned under the bed at three levels of unobtrusiveness. We identified 15 parameters, with heart rate (HR) (14) and respiratory rate (RR) (13) being the most frequently measured. These parameters are generally categorized into three applications: disease-related diagnosis (18), general sleep analysis (9), and general well-being (11). The results indicated that sleep apnea (5) and insomnia (2) were the most frequently detected sleep disorders. Additionally, 59.1% (13) of the systems were tested in a lab environment, with only one undergoing clinical trials. In summary, there is a clear lack of convincing proof of the systems’ effectiveness in continuous in-home sleep monitoring
Einfluss auf Religiosität? : Auswirkungen der Wahlmöglichkeit zwischen Ethik- und Religionsunterricht
Die Teilnahme am verpflichtenden Religionsunterricht in der Schule kann nachhaltige Auswirkungen auf das Leben von Schuler:innen haben. Seit den 1970er Jahren haben die deutschen Bundeslander zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten den verpflichtenden Religionsunterricht an offentlichen Schulen abgeschafft und durch eine Wahlmoglichkeit zwischen Ethik- und Religionsunterricht ersetzt. Unsere Studie zeigt, dass die Reformen nicht nur zu einer geringeren Religiositat der Schuler:innen im spateren Leben fuhrten, sondern auch traditionelle Einstellungen zu Geschlechterrollen verringerten sowie Erwerbsbeteiligung und Einkommen erhohten. Hingegen beeinflussten die Reformen nicht die Lebenszufriedenheit oder ethisches Verhalten wie etwa ehrenamtliches Engagement

Um die Klimaneutralität bis 2045 erreichen zu können, sollen Solaranlagen laut dem Erneuerbaren-Energien-Gesetz 2023 zunehmend in die Verteilnetzebene integriert werden. Solaranlagen sind wetterabhängig, tragen daher zu einer fluktuierenden Erzeugung bei. Im Gegensatz zu konventionellen Kraftwerken sind Solaranlagen nur bedingt steuerbar und sehr volatil in der Einspeisung. Aus diesem Grund sehen sich Verteilnetzbetreiber gezwungen, eine aktivere Rolle im Engpassmanagement zu übernehmen. State of practice and challenges of issue management for component-based and service-oriented systems : an empirical study
Modern software systems often consist of independently developed components, e.g., libraries or (micro-)services, that can be combined to form a larger architecture. Many of these components are developed externally, i.e., in other projects by other teams, which is particularly the case in service-oriented architectures. Even though the components are independently developed, bugs may arise that propagate along the call chains, which sometimes negatively affect the calling components. However, as such components are typically managed in separate issue management systems (IMS), identifying that a downstream component is affected by an upstream component’s issues is complex and time-consuming. Even though some scientific works and IMS forums discuss how to manage such cross-component issues, there is no systematic study on the state of practice and the challenges of issue management when different components are affected. Therefore, this study aims to determine which types of components are usually included in modern software projects, how developers identify and manage issue propagation between components, and how often they face such propagations. To get these insights, we conducted an empirical study through a questionnaire with 64 industry experts and open-source contributors and interviewed seven of them. Our key takeaways help researchers and software engineers to understand possible impacts and to improve cross-component issue management. Digital twin based online material defect detection for CNC-milled workpieces
Reliable lot size one capable online quality monitoring for CNC machined parts remains elusive. To address this challenge, the proposed approach aims to bridge the current gap in research by developing a cost-effective and reference-independent monitoring concept for material defect detection in CNC-machined parts. This paper presents a novel digital twin-based method, utilising machining vibrations and a g-code-based encoding of the cutting process. The objective is to detect material defects, such as blowholes, without the need for individual workpiece references. The proposed method aims to reduce barriers to entry, minimise waste, and enhance machine productivity by enabling automated early online quality control. To develop and validate the model, a dataset combining machining vibration with technological context data such as chip-shape is generated. The feasibility and potential of the approach is demonstrated in a job shop setting on a 3-axis CNC mill
