PENGARUH JENIS PENGOLAHAN DAN LAMA PEMERAMAN TERHADAP KANDUNGAN FRAKSI SERAT PELEPAH KELAPA SAWIT
Pemanfaatan pelepah kelapa sawit sebagai pakan terkendala karena tingginya kandungan lignin. Jenis pengolahan dan lama pemeraman yang berbeda diharapkan dapat menurunkan kandungan fraksi seratnya terutama kandungan lignin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fraksi serat pelepah kelapa sawit dengan jenis pengolahan dan lama pemeraman berbeda. Penelitian mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor masing-masing dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 27 unit perlakuan. Faktor A adalah jenis pengolahan: A1 pengolahan secara kimia (penambahan urea 5%); A2 pengolahan secara biologi (penambahan eksreta 10%); A3 pengolahan secara kimia + biologi (penambahan 5% urea + 10% eksreta). Faktor B adalah lama pemeraman: B1 pemeraman 7 hari; B2 pemeraman 14 hari; B3 pemeraman 21 hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (Analysis of Variance/ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis pengolahan, lama pemeraman dan interaksi antara jenis pengolahan dengan lama pemeraman menurunkan kandungan selulosa dan hemiselulosa dan lignin serta meningkatkan kandungan NDF dan ADF. Perlakun terbaik adalah kombinasi pengolahan secara kimia + biologi (penambahan urea 5% dan eksreta 10%) dengan lama pemeraman 21 hari karena menghasilkan kandungan ADL terendah yaitu 18,94%. ANALISIS PENDAPATAN DAN TINGKAT KESEJAHTERAAN RUMAH TANGGA PETERNAK SAPI POTONG KELOMPOK TERNAK LIMOUSIN DESA ASTOMULYO KECAMATAN PUNGGUR KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TENGAH
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan peternak sapi, pendapatan rumah tangga peternak sapi dan tingkat kesejahteraan peternak sapi anggota Kelompok Ternak Limousin. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja pada Januari-Februari 2019 di Desa Astomulyo, Kecamatan Punggur, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah, menggunakan metode survei. Ada 45 responden yang diambil dengan menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis pendapatan (Revenue-Cost Ratio-R/C), analisis pendapatan rumah tangga, dan tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga peternak berdasarkan kriteria Badan Pusat Statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan rata-rata peternak berdasarkan biaya tunai dan total biaya sebesar Rp138.882.134,78 per tahun dan Rp132.405.206,29 per tahun. Usaha ternak sapi layak dan menguntungkan karena memperoleh rasio penerimaan dengan biaya tunai dan total biaya lebih dari satu (R/C>1) yaitu 1,44 dan 1,41. Usaha ternak sapi memberikan kontribusi terbesar pada pendapatan rumah tangga sebesar 94,38%, sedangkan sisanya berasal dari kegiatan usahatani (on farm), kegiatan yang masih ada kaitannya dengan pertanian (off farm), dan kegiatan non pertanian (non farm). Berdasarkan kriteria BPS bahwa 91,11% rumah tangga peternak di Desa Astomulyo berada dalam kategori sejahtera. Kata kunci : Analisis pendapatan, Kesejahteraan rumah tangga, Peternak sapi potong
PENGARUH PEMBERIAN SUPLEMEN TEPUNG TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) TERHADAP KONSUMSI PROTEIN KASAR, KECERNAAN PROTEIN KASAR DAN PRODUKSI PROTEIN SUSU PADA SAPI PERAH LAKTASI
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian suplemen tepung temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb) terhadap konsumsi PK dan produksi protein susu sapi perah laktasi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor sapi perah Friesian Holstein (FH) dengan pengelompokan berdasarkan produksi susu yang ada di KTT Wahyu Agung, Getasan. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 perlakuan dan 6 kelompok berdasarkan produksi susu. Perlakuan yang diterapkan yaitu T0 = sebagai kontrol, T1 = suplemen temulawak 1% kebutuhan BK. Parameter yang diamati meliputi jumlah konsumsi protein kasar pakan, kecernaan protein kasar dan produksi protein susu. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam taraf signifikan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan konsumsi protein kasar T0 sebesar 1,589 kg/ekor/hari, T1 sebesar 1,599 kg/ekor/hari, kecernaan protein kasar T0 sebesar 72,70%, T1 sebesar 75,68% dan produksi protein susu T0 sebesar 0,210 kg/ekor/hari, T1 sebesar 0,205 kg/ekor/hari. Hal tersebut menunjukkan pemberian suplemen tepung temulawak 1% kebutuhan BK tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi protein kasar, kecernaan protein kasar dan produksi protein susu. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah penambahan suplemen temulawak sebanyak 1% kebutuhan BK belum mampu meningkatkan konsumsi protein kasar, kecernaan protein kasar dan produksi protein susu sapi perah laktasi. PENGARUH LAMA PENYIMPANAN TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK DEDAK PADI
The study aimed to determine the effect of storage time on the physical characteristics of rice bran. The study was carried out by the experimental method using a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used were the length of storage, namely 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks. The variables observed were the physical properties of rice bran which included specific density, bulk density, and compact bulk density and moisture content. The collected data was analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan’s test. The results showed that the storage time from week 0 to week 4 did not have a significant effect on the specific density, bulk density, and compact bulk density. The treatment of each other had a significant effect (P <0.05) increasing the rice bran moisture content. It was concluded that the length of storage increased the moisture content with the regression equation y = 1.0963X + 8.728 with R2 = 0.7602, r = 0.8719, but did not affect the physical characteristics of rice bran. EFEKTIVITAS PENAMBAHAN EKSTRAK MESOCARP Borassus flabellifer PADA PENGENCER BELTSVILLE THAWING SOLUTION TERHADAP VIABILITAS SPERMATOZOA ASAL KAUDA EPIDIDIMIS BABI
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of adding various concentrations of palm fruit mesocarp (Borassus flabellifer) extract to Beltsville Thawing Solution (BTS) diluents on the viability of swines cauda epididymis spermatozoa at 13°C for 4 days. During the storage period, the metabolic activity of spermatozoa will produce free radicals which can reduce spematozoa viability. Borassus flabellifer mesocarp extract contains antioxidants that can counteract free radicals. Testicular and epididymal samples from the 3-4 years old Duroc Landrace Swine Crossbreed. Swine cauda epididymis were obtained from the Oeba Abattoir, Kupang. Cauda epididymis spermatozoa were collected using a combination of incision, rinsing and suppression methods then collected and diluted using BTS and divided into four groups to be given various concentrations of Borassus flabellifer mesocarp extract (K0: without extract; K1: 0.01%; K2: 0.03%; and K3: 0.05 %) and preserved at 13°C for 4 days. Evaluation of spermatozoa viability was carried out microscopically. The results of cauda epididymis sperm viability were K0 = 43.57%; K1 = 54.81%; K2 = 50.52%; and K3 = 49.95%. Analysis of variance showed that the addition Borassus flabellifer mesocarp extract gave a significant difference (P> 0.05) to spermatozoa viability. The Duncan region test showed a significant difference (P <0.05) between treatment K1 with treatments K0, K2 and K3 on the viability of spermatozoa. The conclusions of this study was the addition of Borassus flabellifer mesocarp extract at 0.01% concentration was the most appropriate dose to maintain the viability of swine cauda epididymis spermatozoa. PERENCANAAN LANSKAP KAWASAN PENERAPAN INOVASI TEKNOLOGI PETERNAKAN PRUMPUNG BERBASIS RAMAH LINGKUNGAN
The needs of animal protein especially of meats, is increasing from year to year in line with the rising numbers of people as well as an enhanced awareness of Indonesian people about fulfilling the nutrition. One of the efforts can be done to get fresh meat for consumption at their own volition was by raising the standard of the population and productivity of low class ruminants to set up their cattle on a more sustainable path. The purpose of this activity was proposed the framework for the landscape of a planning at the office of KAPITAN that serves as a means of the dissemination of technological innovations, a place to conduct field studies and mean engineering technology and shall be promulgated by the application of the concept of GFP. Material and methode to materialize this needs to be a manual the cultivation of its beef cattle (Good Farming Practices). The concept of GFP is the application of the efficiency of production with must pay attention to the environmental factors in the business of a farm. Several factors that must be considered include cattle that are reared, feed given, the management of the cost of maintenance, left the care of his facilities as well as the surrounding environment. EVALUASI SISTEM MANAJEMEN USAHA PEMBIBITAN SAPI BALI TERINTEGRASI DENGAN PERKEBUNAN KELAPA SAWIT DI KABUPATEN PASAMAN BARAT, PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT
The research objective was to evaluate: 1) Implementation of integration of Bali cattle and oil palm plantations; 2) Obstacles faced in implementing the integration of Bali cattle with oil palm plantations. The study was conducted in Pasaman Barat District, which received assistance of fund from Directorate General of Animal Husbandry in 2012 in the project of integration of beef cattle with oil palm plantation. The method used were survey method, direct observation and using questionnaire. Respondents involved were members of farmer-group who carried out the integration of Bali cattle and palm oil plantation program as many as 56 people from four groups. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and comparing the results obtained with the objectives of the integration program itself. The results showed that the effort to integrate Bali cattle with oil palm plantation business was not optimal. The feedstuff given to cattle were superior grass and field grass originating from oil palm plantations. However, oil palm fronds and leaves have not been utilized, and palm oil industry waste in the form of palm mud, fiber palm oil, and palm kernel meal have not been used optimally as well. Utilization of cattle feces as fertilizer for oil palm plants has been used in several groups, but still in the form of untreated fertilizers. The obstacles faced in implementing this integration system are such as the lack of knowledge of farmers about integration, and the mastery of livestock waste processing technology and waste from oil palm plantations is still low, so that the application of integration has not been optimally carried out.
