The Effect of Addition Multi Nutrients Sauce Supplement in Ration on the Consumption of Ration, the Average Daily Gain, and the Conversion of Ration of Rambon Goats
This research aims to study the effect of addition Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) supplement in the ration on consumption of ration, the average daily gain (ADG), and conversion of ration of Rambon goats. The research was conducted for 60 days at the farmer of Adi Luwih Hamlet, Adi Jaya Village, TerbanggiBesar District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. The research was conducted experimentally using the Randomized Block Design method. Twelve male Rambon goats were grouped into four based on body weight and given three treatments, namely P0 (100% farmer ration), P1 (P0 + 5% MNS), and P2 (P0 + 10% MNS). The data obtained were analyzed for variance and further test of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that the addition of MNS 5% and 10% in the ration could increase the ration consumption and ADG of Rambon goats (P<0.05), otherwisw, it did not affect the conversion of ration in all treatments (P>0.05). The ADG and conversion of ration did not different between 5% and 10% MNS, but the ration consumption of 5% MNS was lower than 10% MNS (P<0.05). It was concluded that the addition of 5% MNS could increase body weight gain, but has not been able to increase the efficiency of the ratio
The Effect of Sugarcane Water Subtitution as a Candidate Substitute for Fructose in CEP Diluent on Spermatozoa Quality of Friesian Holstein Bull during Frozen Storage
Sugarcane water contains sucrose which function as an energy source to increase ATP and motility of sprematozoa. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sugarcane water substitution as a candidate for fructose substitute in CEP diluent on the sperm quality of Friesian Holstein (FH) bull in frozen storage. The type of research used was experimental research with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions, namely A (CEP); B (CEP without fructose + 15% sugarcane water); C (CEP without fructose + 20% sugarcane water); D (CEP without fructose + 25% sugarcane water); E (CEP without fructose + 30% sugarcane water). Parameters used were motility, viability, and membrane integrity of FH bull spermatozoa. The motility test was observed with a 400x magnification microscope. The viability test was carried out with eosin-negrosin dye and observed with a 400x magnification microscope. The membrane integrity test was carried out with HOST fluid and observed with a 400x magnification microscope. Data analysis used the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, then the One-Way ANOVA test and Duncan’s test. The result showed that the treatment with CEP diluent had the best results in maintaining the quality of spermatozoa during frozen storage with an average motility, viability and membrane integrity of 40,11±0,41%; 46,71±0,15% and 45,88±0,77% respectively
Anaerobic Fermentation of Kepok Banana (Musa Paradisiaca) Peels with Different Levels of Tapioca for Reducing Their Fiber Components
Banana peel is restricted to use as feedstuffs because it has a high crude fiber content. The reduction of crude fiber can be done by anaerobic fermentation such as silage making. Soluble carbohydrates are needed as an energy source for microorganisms in ensilage process. Tapioca is one of soluble carbohydrates that can be used to improve silage quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate effect of tapioca levels on the fiber fraction of kepok banana peel silage (Musa paradisiaca). A completely randomized design was used in this study, with 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely T0: without tapioca, T5: 5% tapioca, T10: 10% tapioca, T15: 15% tapioca. Variables observed were the content of NDF (%), ADF (%), hemicellulose (%), cellulose (%), and lignin (%).Collected data was analyzed by analysis of variance and if it had a significant effect, it was continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The results of analysis of variance showed that the level of tapioca had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on NDF, ADF, hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin. DMRT showed that the lowest NDF content was at T15 with an average of 48.06%, the lowest ADF was found at T15 with an average of 20.20%, the lowest hemicellulose was found at T15 with an average of 27.46%, the lowest cellulose was found at T10 with an average of 7.98% and the lowest lignin against T15 with an average of 12.09%. In conclusions, 1) Different levels of tapioca was can reduce ADF, NDF, hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin in kepok banana peel silage, 2) The use of 10% tapioca reduced the highest kepok banana peel silage fiber fraction
Effects of L-Carnitine and Fish Oil Supplementations in the Diet to Digestibility of Crude Fat, Fiber, and Feed Conversion in Native Chicken
The aim of this study was to find out the effect of L-carnitine and fish oils on crude fat and fiber digestibilities, and feed conversion in native chicken. This study used 100 Kampung chickens aged 20 weeks. Feed treatments were divided into four groups consisted of basal diet, basal diet supplemented by L-carnitine, basal diet supplemented by L-carnitine and Tuna fish oil, and basal diet supplemented by L-carnitine and Lemuru fish oil. The data observed in this study were crude fat consumption and digestibility, crude fiber consumption and digestibility, feed consumption, and feed conversion ratio (FCR). Those data were analyzed using analysis of variance and an orthogonal contrast test was applied to distinguish among groups. Statistical analysis showed that highly significant effects of L-carnitine and fish oils supplementation on crude fat and fiber consumptions, and crude fat digestibility were found in this study (P<0.01). Moreover, L-carnitine and fish oils supplementation in the diet significantly affected crude fiber digestibility, feed consumption, and FCR (P<0.05). In conclusion, supplementation of Tuna and Lemuru fish oils until 4% containing 30 ppm L-carnitine improved crude fat consumption, digestibilities of crude fat and fiber, and decreased crude fiber digestibility, feed consumption, and FCR
The Effect of Long Storage of Temperature Refrigerator to The Eksternal and Internal Quality of Herbal Egg Layer Second Phase
This study aimed to determine the effect of storage time at refrigerator temperature on the external and internal quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs. This research was conducted on May 21 – September 2021 at the Livestock Production Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 9 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication consisted of 3 eggs. The data obtained were analyzed for Analysis of Variance at the 5% level of significance, the results of the variance analysis were significantly different, the Least Significant Difference test was continued. The results of this study showed that the weight of herbal eggs decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increasing storage time, which was for 8 weeks ranging from 0.90% – 5.82%. Albumen index also decreased and the storage of herbal eggs for 0 weeks (0.073) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than storage for 1-8 weeks (0.061-0.036). Likewise, the yolk index in herbal egg storage for 0 – 1 week (0.420 – 0.411) was significantly higher (P<0.05) compared to storage for 2 – 8 weeks (0.388 – 0.358). On the other hand, the size of the air cavity diameter showed that the longer the storage time is increasing, which is for 8 weeks ranging from 1.409 cm – 3.058 cm. The quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs was classified as well based on the average HU value (52.25 – 72.55). Conclusion of this study were 1) the longer storage time at refrigerator temperature could decrease egg weight, albumen index, yolk index, air cavity diameter, and Haugh Unit and could increase the size of the air cavity diameter of second phase layer chicken herbal eggs; and 2) the quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs that were stored at refrigerator temperature for up to 8 weeks was classified as well based on the average HU valu
Comparison of Nutritional Value between Broiler Feather Flour and Fermented Broiler Feather Flour
The aim of this study was to acknowledge the change in the nutrient content of fermented feather flour use a mixture of yeast tape and yeast bread. Feather flour used is a waste broiler feather flour obtained from the Oesao Presidential Market, Kupang Regency. Trial method used was a direct methods and fermented result through proximate analysis would be compared with before fermented. The design used was complete randomized design with 2 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment tested were R0: Broiler feather flour without fermented and R1: fermented broiler feather flour used yeast tape and yeast bread. Variable observed were the change in nutrient content in form of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber and material extract without nitrogen feather meal after fermented. Statistical analysis showed significant result (P<0.05) on variables and fermented used yeast tape and yeast bread could increase crude protein and crude fat with could reduce content of crude fiber, carbohydrates and material extract without nitrogen feather meal. The conclusion of this study was yeast tape and yeast bread could increase the nutrients in feather flour that could be used as indgredients mixed diet
Identification of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) in Early Exon 10 of Follicle Stimulating Hormone Receptor (FSHR) Gene in Pesisir Cattle
The purpose of this study was to identify genetic diversity in the early exon 10 of the FSHR gene or follicle stimulating hormone receptor in Pesisir cattle. The blood samples used were 70 blood samples from female Pesisir cattle aged 2-5 years which were obtained from BPTU-HPT Padang Mengatas, West Sumatera. The isolated DNA was then amplified using a pair of primers L and R with PCR technique which produced a fragment with a length of 847 bp. The services of 1st Base Singapore are used for sequencing the amplified product. The results of the research on the identification of the early exon 10 FSHR gene in Pesisir cattle were found that there were 5 SNPs at positions --53T>C, +17A>G, +650C>T, +706A>C and +707 ins>A in some introns 9 to exon 10 first part. The results showed that the genotypic frequency of the Pesisir cattle population was in Hardy-Weinberg imbalance and polymorphisms were found in the early exon 10 FSHR gene diversity
Evaluation of Corn Fodder Hydroponic Nutrient Content As a Substitute of Forgive Livestock Feed
Hydroponic fodder is a forage that is cultivated hydroponically. Fodder hydroponic cultivation can be done only with liquid media, carried out in a controlled environment, and a short planting period. Wheat, barley, sorghum, and corn are cereal crops that can be cultivated hydroponically as animal feed. Corn is a cereal crop that is easily available in Indonesia. Corn seeds grown hydroponically will affect the nutrient content. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutrient content of corn fodder. This research uses literature study and experimental methods. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. Based on the proximate analysis of corn fodder, the crude protein content was 11.135%, crude fat content was 4.950%, ash content was 2.340%, crude fiber content was 15.210%, water content was 88.99%, Ca content was 0.440%, crude fiber content was 0.440%. P was 0.770%, NaCl content was 0.036%, Na content was 0.014%, and ME was 31.200 MJ/kg. In conclusion, this corn fodder can be used as a forage substitute for animal feed because it has a fairly good nutrient content
Demand Pattern Analysis of Broilers by Satay Madura Sellers in Bandar Lampung City
The purpose of this study is to determine the pattern of demand for broilers and the factors that influence the demand for broilers by Madura satay traders in Bandar Lampung City. This study uses a survey method. The sample is taken using a proportional random sampling technique with the number of respondents being 31 traders. Furthermore, the analytical method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) Regression method. The result of the research shows that the pattern of demand for broilers by Madura satay traders in Bandar Lampung City consists of the frequency of purchase, the average number of purchases, and the place of purchase. The frequency of purchases made by Madura satay traders is seven times a week with an average number of purchases of 31 kg per week. Then, the usual place to make a purchase is the chicken trader in the market. The factors that significantly affect the demand for broilers are the price of chicken, the price of peanuts, the price of charcoal, and the price of output
