La evaluación de los servicios gerontológicos: un nuevo modelo basado en la Atención Centrada en la Persona.

Artículo que describe un modelo innovador, el modelo ACP-Gerontología que permite evaluar residencias de personas mayores desde el enfoque de Atención Centrada en la PersonaThere has been a growing interest in the Person Centered Care (PCC) involving old people long term care as considered a strategic approach in social and sanitary services quality. Firstly, nuclear elements of this approach are described and it is emphasized the need of making them effective in gerontology services. It is recommended to define PCC relevant components in different facilities not only avoids fragmented applications of the model but allows progress assessment. Secondly, different PCC evaluation strategies developed to date are exposed (direct observation of care given, interviews and progress indicators). Finally, the PCC-gerontology model is described to be composed by 2 dimensions (personalized care and supportive surroundings) and an amount of 10 components. It is presented like a referent to guide the application of this approach in gerontology centers. An integrating model that pretends to overcome the limitations of isolated instruments use by incorporating both, different care actors opinions (recipients of care, families, professionals and directors/managers) and external evaluation carried by experts.

Multi-cell three phase ac-dc driver for HB-LED lighting applications

    Get PDF
High Brightness Light-Emitting Diodes (HB-LEDs) are becoming omnipresent across all aspects of illumination products, due to their incredible characteristics: efficiency, reliability, long lifetime, controllability, etc. This paper proposes power conversion topologies to drive medium to high power HB-LEDs in three phase power grids when these connection is available. For that reason, an evaluation of several drivers for medium to high power HB-LEDs in three-phase power grids is done. Moreover, a new topology is proposed which complies with IEC 1000-3-2 Class C requirements, achieves high Power Factor (PF), low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), as well as, the capability to have a flicker free behaviour while disposing of the bulk capacitor and having galvanic isolation. The HB-LED driver is based on a modular approach with several cells working together with their inputs connected to the three-phase network and their outputs connected in parallel generating a dc output. Each one of these cells is a DC-DC converter operating as a Loss Free Resistor (LFR). In order to validate the concept a prototype has been built by the use of flyback converters operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM). Furthermore, it operates in the full range of the European three-phase line voltage, which varies between 380V and 420V, and it supplies an output voltage of 48V with maximum power of 90 W.This work has been supported by the Spanish Government under Project MINECO-13-DPI2013-47176-C2-2-R, the Principality of Asturias under the “Severo Ochoa” grant BP14-140 and the Project FC-15-GRUPIN14-143 and by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grants

Influence of PM Coating on PM Magnetization State Estimation Methods Based on Magnetoresistive Effect

    Get PDF
Variable flux PMSMs (VF-PMSMs) are gaining importance, especially in automotive applications. The use of such machines will require the development of methods to estimate the permanent magnet (PM) magnetization state. PM magnetization state estimation methods reported in literature include BEMF and high frequency signal injection. One advantage of high frequency signal injection methods is that they can operate over the whole speed range, with practically no interference with the regular operation of the machine. Magnetization estimation using high frequency injection relies on the variation of the d-axis high frequency inductance with the saturation produced by the magnets. Alternatively, the changes of the magnet electrical resistance due to the magnetoresistive effect can also be used for this purpose. These methods have been tested with different materials, including NdFeB, AlNiCo and SmCo magnets. NdFeB magnets are usually protected from oxidation using NiCuNi coating. However, NiCuNi also shows magnetoresistance effect, and can affect therefore the performance of the method when used with magnets having NiCuNi coating. This paper studies the effects of PM coating on the performance magnetization estate estimation by means of high frequency signal using the magnetoresistance effect. The analysis will include NdFeB, AlNiCo and SmCo magnet

Synthesis of Functionalized Cyclopentene Derivatives from Vinyldiazo Compounds and Vinylazides through Sequential Copper-Promoted [3+2] Cycloaddition/Azide Rearrangement

    Get PDF
The reaction of vinylazides with alkenyldiazo compounds in the presence of [Cu(CH3CN)4][BF4] provided cyclopentene derivatives retaining the azide functionality. This process would involve a sequence comprising: 1) decomposition of the diazo component with generation of a copper alkenylcarbene species; 2) stepwise regioselective [3+2] cycloaddition; 3) allylic azide rearrangement. A broad range of substrates is compatible with this protocol. We have also shown that azide-containing cycloadducts can be efficiently converted to the corresponding amine and triazole derivatives
