ANALISIS KETAHANAN MINYAK DI 15 NEGARA PENGIMPOR MINYAK TAHUN 2010
Energy security is defined as the ability of an economy to provide sufficient, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy services so as to maintain a maximum welfare of the state. Despite the widespread use of the energy security concept, it doesn’t have a regular indicator to measure energy security; so this causes bias in determining the direction of energy policy. Oil Vulnerability Index _OVI) could be used as an indicator which can assess energy security, particularly in oil. This study aims to estimate oil security in 15 oil importer countries in 2010 using OVI. The results show that most countries have oil security problem. Asia is the region that has low level of oil security than other regions. Indonesia is one of the countries that has low level of oil security. KONSUMSI BBM PREMIUM DI INDONESIA DAN FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHINYA
This study examines the factors that & determine \u27premium\u27 petroleum demand in Indonesia, focusing on the period of 1980-1995. Employing a logarithmic model this study also measures price-elasticity, income-elasticity, and the cross-elasticity of premium petrol with lubricants. It is found that the demand is inelastic towards income, inelastic towards price, and that lubricants arc strong complementariness for premium petrol. Thus it can be concluded that premium petrol is a normal good (neither superior nor inferior), a relatively basic need with little or no substitutes and its demand is complementary with the demand or lubricants. Since premium petrol is a basic need for Indonesian people Government with almost no substitutes, the should not take rash steps that would cause the price of petrol apparent that if Indonesia would like to re4uce the consumption of premium petrol, price policies would not be very effective as price-elasticity is low. Non-price policies, eg., introduction of alternative energy, would probably be more potent

Barrier option is non-standard option because it has more complicated payoffs than the standard European and American option and has different activation or expiration mechanism with standard option
PARADIGMS OF DEVELOPMENT IN ASIA-PACIFIC: CONTINUING DEBATES
There are four kinds of investment funds: Money Market Investment Funds, Income Investment Funds, Balanced or Discretionary Investment Funds and Equity Investment Funds which can give flexibility to investors, because each investment fund has different risks and rate of return. Investors who invest in Equity Investment Funds would expect higher returns over the long term but experience greater price variability than those who invest in the Balanced or - Income Investment Funds. It is important to evaluate performance of mutual funds based on risk and return analysis. The risk adjusted return approaches are Sharpe Ratio,\u27 Treynor Ratio, Jensen\u27s Differential Return.Research was carried out by investigating the daily fluctuation of Net Asset Value within 119 of Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE) working days over 21 investment funds which had been issued before February 1997. The result shows that Balanced Investment Funds has lower risk compared to Equity\u27 Investment Funds, but has the highest average rate of return among them.- Hypothesis testing (at 95% confidence level) shows that Income Investment Funds, Balanced Investment Funds and Equity Investment Funds have—\u27 significant risk differentiation but have no significant average rate of return\u27 - differentiation. Performance based on Sharpe Ratio, Traynor Ratio, and Jensen\u27s Differential Return shows that Balanced Investment Funds is better than Equity Investment Funds. This is due to not only to the high rate of return but also to the lower variability of the return of fixed income securities, money market instrument as well as bonds. These intriguing results implied that fund managers could enhance investment fund return by diversifying across both fixed income securities, money market instruments, bonds and stocks. Clearly to say, a judicious mix of deposits, bonds, and stocks over time could be used as a means to potentially rise investment funds return while also reducing risk. This research is a preliminary one and is done in short period of time so that it may only give phenomenon in the short run
