Perkembangan Islam dan Praktek Islam dalam Selebaran Film Indonesia di Era Soeharto (1966-1998)
Full text linkUsing a corpus of 300 film flyers issued between 1966 and 1998, this article examines how Islam was depicted in advertisements for Indonesian films under the Suharto government. It finds that, although explicit symbols of Islamic religiosity were generally not included in film flyers, such depictions could still be found, both in flyers for films intended to preach Islamic values as well as in flyers for films with more general themes. Markers of Islam identified include turbans, skullcaps, headscarves, language, the Qur\u27an, prayers, prayer beads, mosques, and the Kaaba, all of which were used to portray an Islamic identity that was in some ways highly normative while in other ways quite diverse. Though these flyers tempered the exclusivity of Islamic identity, they are also indicative of the religion\u27s special position in contemporary Indonesian popular discourse. The use of these markers, thus, underscores the dynamicity and fluidity of discourse on Islamic identity in Suharto-era Indonesia and emphasizes the need to recognize the contributions of popular culture to national discourse of identity, religious or otherwise

Full text linkThis study discuss the tendency of broadcast media commercialization in the four newly industrialized countries in Asia, which are known as NICs (Newly Industrialized Countries) consisting of Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong. The objective of this study is to find out the characteristics of the commercial media in Asia along with the trend and limitation. Which are any changes directly or indirectly in the form of broadcasting in the Asia that much influence on the political and social system. In addition to discussing the state of the four NICs (Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong), the study will also discuss other Asian countries in general. In simple terms this study assumed that: (1) the tendency of media liberalization and rules on the Asian NICs that have made great contributions for creating media commercialization. (2) The most important of the commercialization of the media against the political and social system is that the commercialization of the media can be an alternative or indirectly be the way for the success of democratic media, which would be the first step for the creation of political and social democracy in Asia

Full text linkAbstract: Study entitled \u27Study of Comparative Analysis Between Ta\u27wil And Hermeneutics In the interpretation of the Qur\u27an\u27 provides an overview to the Muslims, that the ta\u27wil and hermeneutics is something different. Both etymologically,epistemology, historical and applicative methods as interpretations of the al-Qur’an.Ta\u27wil is the most important part in understanding the Qur\u27an, while hermeneutics is a tool to interpret and understand the bible. By prioritizing hermeneutics in the interpretation of the al-Qur’an is not able to reach what is revealed by Allah in the Qur\u27an. Because hermeneutics is not a perfect method applicable if forced to the Qur\u27an that the original source of Allah SWT, with a language so have a high level of literary taste. Match between ta\u27wil and hermeneutics is not appropriate, because both come from different sources. And is ultimately resulting in the quality of the interpretation is different

On the other side, the term communication is more familiar. Though, their assumption refers to the instruments likes telephone, handy talky, etc. Even television, radio and newspaper haven’t categorized as the media for communication. Commonly, from the definition of the two terms – dakwah and communication – have some similarities, yet few differences. Most of them just put the value of academic and forget the obligations and responsibilities as a volunteer custodian of Islamic Civilization in the community. Critical thinking skills in addressing any problems in society increasingly minimal. Hence the need for mental revitalization and strategy in delivering propaganda in society. Hone back critical thinking skills and the ability to write expected to answer the social problems caused by various factors. This effort is expected to also not just limited discourse, but no real steps from the Faculty of Dakwah itself to the revitalization of mental and propaganda strategy

DULMULUK: THE TRADITIONAL DRAMA OF PALEMBANG SOUTH SUMATERA
Full text linkArtikel ini tentang dulmuluk sebagai drama tradisional dan pementasan seni yang ada di palembang Sumatera Selatan. Dulmuluk mulai dikenal sejak awal abad 20 sampai sekarang. Penulis tertarik menulis tema ini karena pementasan Dulmuluk berbeda dengan pementasan ketoprak atau ludruk dari daerah Jawa. Dulmuluk hanya menceritakan cerita seorang raja yang bernama Abdul Muluk, sedangkan ketoprak atau Ludruk menceritakan bermacam-macam cerita rakyat atau legenda. Masyarakat Palembang meyakini bahwa cerita Dulmuluk diperkenalkan oleh Raja Ali haji dalam bukunya “Kejayaan Kerajaan Melayu” pada tahun1845. Buku ini menceritakan sejarah “raja Abdul Muluk”. Cerita ini pernah menjadi cerita yang sangat populer d Palembang dan Malaysia. Namun, kepopuleran cerita ini berangsur menghilang. Tulisan ini akan mendiskusikan tentang sejarah dulmuluk, biografi Raja Ali Haji, perkembangan Dulmuluk dan peranannya terhadap kesusastraan Indonesia
