K.H. Muhammad Nuh and the Role of Islamic Cultural Development in Cilongok 1900-1986
K.H. Muhammad Nuh memiliki peran dalam pengembangan kebudayaan Islam di Cilongok dari tahun 1900-1986. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan serta peran K.H. Muhammad Nuh terhadap kebudayaan Islam di Cilongok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah sejarah lokal. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan langkah-langkah penelitian dengan beberapa tahapan yang meliputi: Heuristik, Verifikasi, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa setelah kedatangan K.H. Muhammad Nuh datang pada tahun 1936 ke Cilongok yang berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan kebudayaan Islam. Kedatangan K.H. Muhammad Nuh memberikan peran yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan kebudayaan Islam yang semakin meluas. Melalui dakwah yang disebarkan oleh K.H. Muhammad Nuh berpengaruh baik bagi masyarakat sekitar sampai membangun lembaga pendidikan Islam yang diikuti oleh masyarakat sekitar dan dua santri pengikut K.H. Muhammad Nuh. Setelah itu, setiap bulan Ramadhan banyak santri berdatangan dari daerah lain hingga berubah menjadi Pondok Pesantren Darul Hikmah sampai sekarang. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini ialah K.H. Muhammad Nuh memegang peran yang kuat dalam mengembangkan kebudayaan Islam di Cilongok.K.H. Muhammad Nuh played a role in the development of Islamic culture in Cilongok from 1900-1986. The purpose of this research is to determine the development and role of K.H. Muhammad Nuh towards Islamic culture in Cilongok. The research method used is local history. In this research, researchers used research steps with several stages including: Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation, and Historiography. The results of this research show that after the arrival of K.H. Muhammad Nuh came to Cilongok in 1936 and had an influence on the development of Islamic culture. The arrival of K.H. Muhammad Nuh played a significant role in the increasingly widespread development of Islamic culture. Through the da\u27wah spread by K.H. Muhammad Nuh had a good influence on the surrounding community and even built an Islamic educational institution which was attended by the surrounding community and two students who were followers of K.H. Muhammad Nuh. After that, every month of Ramadhan many students came from other areas until it became the Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School until now. The conclusion in this research is that K.H. Muhammad Nuh played a strong role in developing Islamic culture in Cilongok
Pesijuk as a Manifestation of Divine Light: An Analysis of Illuminationist Philosophy on the Spiritual Tradition of the Gayo Community
Penelitian ini menelaah tradisi Pesijuk dalam kehidupan masyarakat Gayo di dataran tinggi Aceh melalui pendekatan Filsafat Iluminasi yang digagas oleh Suhrawardi. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkap dimensi metafisis dan spiritual yang terkandung dalam tradisi Pesijuk, yang selama ini cenderung dipahami secara sempit sebagai kegiatan seremonial budaya. Dengan menerapkan metode kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan dan analisis filosofis, penelitian ini menafsirkan makna simbol-simbol seperti beras, tepung tawar, dan air bunga dalam bingkai konsep hierarki cahaya (nur al-anwar) serta pengetahuan hadir (al-ilm al-hudhuri) menurut Suhrawardi. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan bahwa Pesijuk tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai praktik sosial dan adat, tetapi juga mengandung nilai-nilai pencerahan batin dan penyucian spiritual yang menghubungkan manusia dengan realitas metafisik. Melalui simbolisme cahaya dan kesejukan batin, Pesijuk menjadi sarana reflektif bagi masyarakat Gayo dalam meraih keseimbangan antara dunia material dan spiritual. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pesijuk merupakan bentuk ekspresi religio-kultural yang memadukan kearifan lokal Gayo dengan prinsip-prinsip iluminasi dalam filsafat Islam, sekaligus merepresentasikan model spiritualitas kontekstual yang tumbuh dan berakar dalam tradisi keislaman Nusantara.This research explores the Pesijuk ritual of the Gayo community in the Aceh highlands through Suhrawardi’s Illuminationist philosophical framework. The study aims to uncover the deeper metaphysical and spiritual significance of Pesijuk, which is often perceived merely as a cultural or traditional ceremony. Employing a qualitative library research design combined with philosophical interpretation, the study examines symbolic elements such as rice, flour, and flower water within Suhrawardi’s theories of the hierarchy of light and presential knowledge. The analysis reveals that Pesijuk transcends its ritualistic and social dimensions, functioning instead as a spiritual process of purification and enlightenment that unites the material and transcendent realms. Ultimately, this study concludes that Pesijuk represents a harmonious integration between Gayo’s indigenous wisdom and the divine illumination inherent in Islamic philosophy, serving as a vibrant example of contextualized spirituality that reflects the dynamic synthesis of culture and faith within the Indonesian archipelago
Representasi Trauma dan Makna Rumah dalam Film Rumah untuk Alie (2025): Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes
The film Rumah untuk Alie (2025) is an Indonesian family drama that highlights issues of domestic violence, bullying, and the psychological trauma experienced by a teenage girl who is blamed for her mother’s death. This study aims to analyze the representation of trauma and the meaning of “home” in the film through Roland Barthes’ semiotic framework, which consists of three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The research method employs a qualitative-descriptive analysis with data collected from observations of the official trailer, published synopses, promotional materials, media, and media reviews. The findings show that the home functions not merely as a physical space but as a symbolic site of deep trauma for the character Alie. At the denotative level, the home appears as the primary setting for verbal and physical violence perpetrated by her father and brothers. At the connotative level, the home generates metaphorical meanings related to emotional wounds, gendered injustice, and psychological pressure within a patriarchal family structure. At the mythic level, the film deconstructs and critiques cultural assumptions about the home as the safest place and the idealization of the harmonious family. The study concludes that Rumah untuk Alie illustrates how domestic violence becomes embedded through everyday symbols and underscores the necessity of emotional support
Anak Perempuan sebagai Agen Perubahan: Analisis Multidimensi dari Perspektif Agama, Feminisme, dan Realitas Sosial
Abstract
This study examines the role of girls in the family from the perspective of Islam, feminist theory, and modern empirical research, as well as the factors that influence changes in gender dynamics in modern families. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes religious texts such as Surah An-Nisa verses 11-12, Simone de Beauvoir\u27s feminist theory, and the results of empirical research related to women\u27s contributions to the family. The results show that the role of girls is multidimensional, covering domestic, economic, and social aspects. From an Islamic perspective, the principle of justice in the distribution of inheritance and the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW emphasize the importance of women\u27s rights. Feminist theory offers a critique of patriarchal structures that underestimate the potential of girls, while empirical research shows their real contribution to family resilience. Factors such as reinterpretation of religious values, globalization, education, economic roles, and media representation are the main drivers of changes in gender dynamics. Historical Tour of Petilasan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang’s at the Muara Binuangeun in Lebak-Banten
Petilasan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang di Muara Binuangeun dapat berpotensi sebagai wisata religi yang menarik untuk dikunjungi. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang keberadaan Petilasan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang serta mengungkap memory dan cerita yang ada di masyarakat seputar kedatangan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang di Muara Binuangeun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah dengan pengumpulan sumber berupa kisah atau cerita yang berkembang di masyarakat, memory kolektif, studi literatur, serta pengamatan potensi wisata di kawasan ini. Hasil penelitian ini diantaranya mendeskripsikan bahwa berdasarkan cerita rakyat yang beredar, kedatangan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang ke kawasan pesisir Muara Binuangeun merupakan titik awal masuknya Islam di daerah tersebut. Hal tersebut diperkuat oleh adanya situs petilasan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang yang merupakan hasil penelusuran para keturunannya yang berasal dari Cirebon. Penemuan situs di Kampung Kembang Ranjang (salah satu perkampungan di Muara Binuangeun) tersebut melibatkan 40 ulama Cirebon untuk mengungkap keterkaitan situs tersebut dengan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang. Kini, situs tersebut ramai dikunjungi, dan beberapa pihak meyakini situs tersebut merupakan Makam sesungguhnya dari Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan kepada pembaca terkait wisata sejarah Petilasan Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang yang terdapat di Muara Binuangeun, Lebak-Banten. The Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang shrine in Muara Binuangeun has the potential to become an interesting religious tourism destination. This study examines the existence of the Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang shrine and uncovers the memories and stories that exist in the community surrounding the arrival of Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang in Muara Binuangeun. This study uses a historical research method by collecting sources in the form of stories or tales that have developed in the community, collective memory, literature studies, and observations of tourism potential in this area. The results of this study include describing that based on circulating folklore, the arrival of Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang to the coastal area of Muara Binuangeun was the starting point for the entry of Islam in the area. This is reinforced by the existence of the Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang shrine site which is the result of tracing by her descendants who came from Cirebon. The discovery of the site in Kampung Kembang Ranjang (one of the villages in Muara Binuangeun) involved 40 Cirebon scholars to uncover the site\u27s connection to Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang. Today, the site is widely visited, and some believe it to be the actual tomb of Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang. This research is expected to broaden readers\u27 understanding of the historical site of the Nyi Mas Ratu Subang Larang site in Muara Binuangeun, Lebak, Banten
Tradisi Toron Tana Di Bangkalan : Antara Priayi dan Rakyat Biasa
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna simbolik dan perbedaan pelaksanaan tradisi Toron Tana dalam masyarakat Madura, khususnya di Bangkalan, dengan menyoroti perbedaan antara kalangan priyayi dan rakyat biasa. Ruang lingkup penelitian mencakup aspek simbolik ritual, struktur sosial pelaku tradisi, serta fungsi tradisi dalam menjaga identitas dan kohesi sosial masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh wawancara dengan masyarakat setempat, serta studi pustaka terhadap referensi yang relevan. Analisis data menggunakan perspektif fungsionalisme struktural Émile Durkheim untuk memahami fungsi sosial tradisi Toron Tana dalam konteks masyarakat Madura. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat perbedaan bentuk dan kemeriahan pelaksanaan antara kalangan priyayi dan rakyat biasa, inti makna tradisi tetap dipertahankan. Tradisi ini berfungsi sebagai media transmisi nilai-nilai kultural dan spiritual, memperkuat solidaritas sosial, serta mereproduksi struktur sosial secara berkesinambungan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa tradisi Toron Tana bukan hanya warisan budaya, melainkan juga instrumen penting dalam menjaga integrasi sosial dan identitas kolektif masyarakat Madura di tengah dinamika perubahan zaman.

This study aims to examine the symbolic meaning and differences in the implementation of the Toron Tana tradition in Madurese society, especially in Bangkalan, by highlighting the differences between the priyayi and ordinary people. The scope of the study includes the symbolic aspects of rituals, the social structure of the tradition actors, and the function of tradition in maintaining the identity and social cohesion of the community. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews with local people, as well as literature studies of relevant references. Data analysis used Émile Durkheim\u27s structural functionalism perspective to understand the social function of the Toron Tana tradition in the context of Madurese society. The results of the study show that although there are differences in the form and excitement of the implementation between the priyayi and ordinary people, the core meaning of the tradition is maintained. This tradition functions as a medium for transmitting cultural and spiritual values, strengthening social solidarity, and reproducing social structures continuously. The conclusion of this study confirms that the Toron Tana tradition is not only a cultural heritage, but also an important instrument in maintaining social integration and the collective identity of the Madurese community amidst the dynamics of changing times
Kebijakan Presiden Prabowo Subianto Pada Bencana Ekologis Di Aceh, Sumatera Utara Dan Padang Dalam Perspektif Nilai-Nilai Politik Islam
Artikel ini menganalisis proses pengambilan kebijakan Presiden Prabowo Subianto dalam menanggapi bencana ekologis banjir dan tanah longsor di Sumatera Utara, Aceh, dan Padang (Sumatera Barat) pada akhir 2025 dari perspektif nilai-nilai politik Islam. Dengan menggunakan kerangka Maqasid al-Shariah dan prinsip etika Islam seperti keadilan (adl), kepedulian sosial (maslahah), amanah (tanggung jawab moral), syura (konsultasi), serta perlindungan lingkungan (hifz al-bi’ah), artikel ini mengkaji bagaimana nilai-nilai tersebut tampak dalam proses kebijakan publik yang diambil pemerintah Indonesia. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan darurat mencerminkan beberapa nilai politik Islam secara implisit, seperti prioritas kesejahteraan masyarakat, tanggung jawab moral pemimpin, serta kesadaran ekologis terkait faktor penyebab bencana. Namun, terdapat juga tantangan dalam implementasinya, termasuk kritik publik mengenai sensitivitas sosial dan penetapan status bencana nasional. Artikel ini memberikan wawasan tentang hubungan antara nilai moral Islam dan praktik kebijakan negara dalam konteks krisis ekologis yang kompleks.This article analyzes President Prabowo Subianto\u27s policy-making process in response to the ecological disasters of floods and landslides in North Sumatra, Aceh, and Padang (West Sumatra) in late 2025 from the perspective of Islamic political values. Using the Maqasid al-Shari\u27ah framework and Islamic ethical principles such as justice (adl), social concern (maslahah), amanah (moral responsibility), shura (consultation), and environmental protection (hifz al-bi\u27ah), this article examines how these values are manifested in the Indonesian government\u27s public policy process. Findings indicate that emergency policies implicitly reflect several Islamic political values, such as prioritizing public welfare, the moral responsibility of leaders, and ecological awareness regarding disaster-causing factors. However, there are also challenges in their implementation, including public criticism regarding social sensitivity and the declaration of a national disaster status. This article provides insight into the relationship between Islamic moral values and state policy practices in the context of a complex ecological crisis
Nilai Feminisme Islam pada Novel Biografi Syekhah Rahmah El-Yunusiyyah Perempuan yang Mendahului Zaman karya Khairul Jasmi
This research discusses the development of feminism in Indonesia with a focus on the contributions of female figures such as Raden Ajeng Kartini and Sheikhah Rahmah El-Yunusiyyah. Since ancient times, Indonesian women have been fighting for human rights, which was marked by the first women\u27s conference in Yogyakarta in 1928. The first women\u27s conference in Yogyakarta in 1928. In this context, the biographical novel “Perempuan yang Mendahul Zaman” by Khairul Jasmi takes center stage, depicting the life journey of Rahmah, who founded the special school for women and played a role in the struggle for Indonesian independence. There is no distinction in any aspect. Women have the right to get education, especially since women for future generations are the first madrasah. For future generations is the first madrasa. Women have the right to choose and give birth to a smart and respected generation respected. The purpose of this research is to describe the values of Islamic feminism contained in the novel. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique is read and write. The results of the analysis show that Rahmah is an Islamic figure who has a very large role in the field of education and women\u27s empowerment. The existence of various Islamic feminism data taken from the thoughts of Hussein Muhammad shows that there are Islamic feminism values in the novel Perempuan yang Mendahului Zaman by Khairul Jasmi. The Traces of Islamization and Cultural Acculturation in the Sultanate of Palembang
Peradaban era kesultanan Palembang memiliki proses perjalanan sejarah yang panjang. Mulai dari masa kejayaan Sriwijaya, runtuhnya Sriwijaya, masa perdagangan Palembang sebagai pusat, masa kesultananan Palembang hingga masuk pada kolonial Belanda. Islam masuk ke Palembang pada abad ke-16 dan berkembang pesat, mengubah tatanan sosial dan politik masyarakat setempat. Artikel ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan prosedur dan teknik deskriptif, yang berfokus pada sumber data dari kepustakaan, terutama literatur yang relevan untuk objek yang diteliti. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Transformasi pada era kesultanan Palembang ini mencerminkan dinamika sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya yang diwarnai oleh interaksi antara pengaruh global dan tradisi lokal, dan menjadikan Palembang sebagai salah satu pusat peradaban Islam yang penting di Indonesia.The civilization of the Palembang Sultanate era underwent a long historical journey, beginning with the golden age of Srivijaya, the fall of Srivijaya, Palembang\u27s prominence as a trade center, the era of the Palembang Sultanate, and eventually the arrival of Dutch colonial rule. Islam was introduced to Palembang in the 16th century and quickly flourished, transforming the social and political structures of the local community. This article employs qualitative descriptive research with descriptive procedures and techniques, focusing on data sourced from literature, particularly relevant works addressing the subject of study. The findings reveal that the transformation during the Palembang Sultanate era reflects the social, economic, and cultural dynamics shaped by interactions between global influences and local traditions, establishing Palembang as one of the significant centers of Islamic civilization in Indonesia
Jaringan Ulama Nusantara Dengan Kawasan Islam Internasional:Pemikiran, Keilmuan, Sanad, Dan Kiprah Bagi Islam
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji corak pemikiran ulama Nusantara, garis sanad keilmuan, serta kiprah mereka di kancah internasional. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga berupaya memberikan gambaran mengenai perkembangan tradisi keilmuan Islam di Nusantara dan peran penting para ulama dalam membangun peradaban Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan menelaah berbagai teks dan manuskrip terkait sejarah perkembangan Islam dan tokoh-tokoh ulama Nusantara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran ulama Nusantara bersifat moderat (wasathiyah), toleran (tasamuh), dan terbuka terhadap budaya lokal, sehingga melahirkan konsep Islam Nusantara yang menonjolkan nilai-nilai harmoni sosial. Tradisi sanad keilmuan yang kuat dan terhubung hingga pusat-pusat ilmu Islam di Makkah dan Madinah menjadi landasan penting dalam menjaga kemurnian ajaran Islam serta membentuk karakter santri yang berwawasan luas. Selain itu, peran ulama Nusantara di tingkat internasional juga sangat berpengaruh, terlihat dari tokoh-tokoh seperti syekh Ahmad Khatib Al-Minagkabawi, Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani, dan Syekh Muhammad Yasin Al-Fadani yang dikenal sebagai ulama besar dan penulis karya rujukan di berbagai negara. Kontribusi global ini terbukti melalui karya seperti Sabilal Muhtadin (rujukan fikih asia Tenggara), Nuruzh Zhalam (teks akidah utama), dan Manhaj Dhawi al-Nazhar (dicetak ulang di Beirut dan dipelajari di dunia Arab). Dengan demikian ulama Nusantara memiliki peranan besar dalam membentuk wajah Islam yang damai di Indonesia sekaligus memberikan kontribusi berharga bagi perkembangan peradaban Islam dunia.
This study aims to examine the characteristics of the thinking of Nusantara scholars, their scholarly lineage, and their activities on the international stage. In addition, this study also seeks to provide an overview of the development of Islamic scholarly traditions in the Nusantara and the important role of scholars in building Islamic civilization. The method used is a literature study by examining various texts and manuscripts related to the history of the development of Islam and the figures of Nusantara scholars. The results of the study show that the thinking of Nusantara scholars is moderate (wasathiyah), tolerant (tasamuh), and open to local culture, giving rise to the concept of Islam Nusantara which emphasizes the values of social harmony. A strong tradition of scientific sanad connected to the centers of Islamic learning in Mecca and Medina is an important foundation for maintaining the purity of Islamic teachings and shaping the character of santri with broad knowledge. In addition, the role of Nusantara scholars at the international level is also very influential, as seen in figures such as Sheikh Ahmad Khatib Al-Minagkabawi, Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani, and Sheikh Muhammad Yasin Al-Fadani, who are known as great scholars and authors of reference works in various countries. This global contribution is evident in works such as Sabilal Muhtadin (a reference on Southeast Asian fiqh), Nuruzh Zhalam (a major text on aqidah), and Manhaj Dhawi al-Nazhar (reprinted in Beirut and studied in the Arab world). Thus, the scholars of the archipelago played a major role in shaping the peaceful face of Islam in Indonesia while also making valuable contributions to the development of global Islamic civilization.
