Patient’s Transition Experiences from Hospital to Home after an Acute Cardiac Event
BACKGROUND: Care transition after hospital discharge is challenging for patients and their families. For post an
acute cardiac event patients, the 0–14 days period is a vulnerable period. After hospitalization, patients and their
families report having unmet information needs at a time of hospital discharge. It can increase the complication and
hospital readmission.
AIM: This study aim to explore the patient’s transition experiences from hospital to home after an acute cardiac
event.
METHODS: An exploratory qualitative research design with phenomenological approach was used in the study. The
data were collected from April to July 2020, using semi-structured interviews with 15 patients diagnosed with acute
coronary syndrome (ACS). Transcribed interview data were thematically analyzed.
RESULTS: There are five themes obtained from the study: Positive perception after an acute cardiac event, the
changes experienced, the knowledge which was required, the support needs, and expectations and goals.
CONCLUSION: Transition from hospital to home depends on the perceptions of the participants themselves. The
experience of transitioning patients from hospital to home was influenced by the existence of support from family,
spiritual meaning, and social environment to be able to adapt to health conditions. The finding of this study can assist the nurses in understanding better the needs of patients to prepare the care transition from the hospital to hom
Determinants of nursing students' intention to migrate overseas to work and implications for sustainability: The case of Indonesian students
Going Global: Insights of Indonesian Policymakers on International Migration of Nurses
he Indonesian policymakers need to respond to the current challenges, particularly the excess of nurses and the increased demand for nurses in the global market.
Objective: This study aimed to present the perception of policymakers and stakeholders on the management of overseas migration of Indonesian nurses.
Methods: This study is a descriptive qualitative design where data were collected through structured interviews with key stakeholders representing the Indonesian government, namely the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Labour (MOL), Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI). The in-depth interviews involved participants who were responsible for managing Indonesian nurses’ migration. The qualitative data were analyzed thematically using a content analysis approach.
Results: The issues involving nurses’ migration policy are quite complex and sectoral. Themes emerging from this study include the move towards global market orientation,
addressing challenges on international nurse migration, strengthening coordination among stakeholders and making the most of opportunities. All the themes reflect that the country should work hard to achieve the balance between quantity and quality of nursing resources for the international market.
Conclusion: As regulator and executor of Indonesian nurse migration, various government policies have responded to the low number of Indonesian nurses’ migration overseas,
emphasizing the three cycles of migration: pre-migration, migration and post-migration.The preparation of resources, regulations and placements for Indonesian nurses abroad
open the opportunity to the international nursing labour market. Hence, the policies need to be strengthened from upstream to downstream to make Indonesian nurses more competitive and adaptive in global market
Insomnia Status of Middle School Students in Indonesia and Its Association with Playing Games before Sleep: Gender Difference
The excessive use of online gaming before sleep in adolescents could be a risk factor of sleep disorders such as insomnia. This study aimed to assess the association between playing online games before sleep and insomnia based on gender perspective among middle school students in Indonesia. This was a retrospective study and the data came from a cross-sectional survey that included 315 of Grade 8 and 9 students from four middle schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. Self-reported data were collected via a structured questionnaire, which consisted of demographic variables, sleep duration per day, frequency of playing online games before sleep and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Insomnia status was classified into “none or mild” and “moderate to severe” according to ISI score. The proportions of male and female students who often or always played online games before sleep were 50.3% and 21.7%, respectively. Grade 9 students were more likely to have moderate to severe insomnia than Grade 8 students for males (odds ratio—OR = 4.34, p = 0.005) but not for females (OR = 0.69, p = 0.363). However, female students who often or always played online games before sleep were more likely to have moderate to severe insomnia (OR = 4.60, p = 0.001); such an association was relatively smaller for male students (OR = 3.09, p = 0.061). Gender differences should be taken into account when developing health education or interventions

A Systematic Review of Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices among Healthcare Workers on Personal Protective Equipment against Covid-19
Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory disease that is emerging and spreading rapidly around the world. The rapid spread of COVID-19 poses new challenges in infection control. A comprehensive understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) among health workers is essential. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of
the knowledge, attitudes and practices of using PPE among health workers to prevent COVID-19 infection. The systematic review searched five electronic databases (Scopus,
Pubmed, Science Direct, CINAHL, and Proquest) for previous studies published between 2019 and 2021. We found eleven studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. Most
of the health workers have good knowledge, positive attitudes and bad practices towards using PPE to prevent COVID-19 infection. The most important recommendation for
increasing knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) is to equip health workers with a periodic training program on the use of PPE to combat COVID-1
Pengaruh Faktor Eksternal Terhadap Aktifitas Fisik Pasien Hipertensi
