Effect of cinnamon masking and nanoencapsulation on fatty acid profile and health lipid indices (AI, TI) of tuna eye oil
Tuna eye oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), yet its utilization is limited by a strong fishy odor and low oxidative stability. This study evaluated the effects of cinnamon masking and nanoencapsulation using gum arabic and Tween 80 on the fatty acid profile, atherogenicity index (AI), and thrombogenicity index (TI) of tuna eye oil. Pure tuna eye oil contained saturated fatty acids (SFA) 30.23%, monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) 26.93%, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) 42.76%, with EPA 6.94%, DHA 30.27%, AI 0.43, and TI 0.20. Cinnamon masking increased SFA and PUFA while decreasing MUFA, maintaining low AI and TI values due to the protective effect of cinnamon antioxidants. Nanoencapsulation reduced PUFA, particularly DHA, likely due to oxidation during processing, yet still resulted in low AI and TI values. These findings demonstrate that both treatments can modify the lipid profile and maintain favorable cardiovascular health indices, supporting the development of stable, consumer acceptable omega-3 rich product
Fisheries co-management: Small-scale fisher's perception of the function and impact of FCMC (
Co-management in small-scale fisheries serves as a strategic approach to bridge the needs of various stakeholders, especially in the complex and high-value management of Tuna fisheries. One form of co-management facilitated by Masyarakat dan Perikanan Indonesia (MDPI) is the Fisheries Co-Management Committee (FCMC). This study aims to explore fisher's perceptions of the impact of FCMC on efforts to improve Tuna fisheries in Buru and Central Maluku Regencies, Maluku Province. A qualitative phenomenological approach was chosen for this research. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 30% representation of the total Tuna fisher involved in FCMC. The unit of analysis, fisher's perceptions, was examined using the Advocacy Coalition Framework, revealing that fisher interpret FCMC as a vital and necessary dialogue forum between fisher and relevant stakeholders in Tuna fisheries management. Overall, FCMC is considered to have a positive function as a bridge between fishers and authorities; however, there is a need for strengthening in terms of forum sustainability, consistency of policy implementation, and the genuine involvement of government parties in the field

Contexte et problématique : Les modèles de supervision en milieu clinique ont évolué, avec une approche désormais centrée sur l’étudiant. Au cœur de cette supervision, les interactions psychosociales sont un facteur majeur à prendre en compte pour faciliter et améliorer les apprentissages. Exégèse : Les auteurs définissent le cadre théorique de la culture avant d’expliciter les différentes influences socio-culturelles et théories psychosociales en jeu lors de la supervision clinique. Conclusion : Dans un contexte francophone baigné par les interactions entre formateurs et supervisés de cultures différentes, la recherche d’une meilleure compréhension de ces enjeux permettra in fine de développer la compétence culturelle des différents acteurs que sont les institutions, les formateurs et les apprenants
Vertical structure of oceanographic parameters in the Eastern Andaman Sea: A model study
The vertical circulation and subsurface variability of the eastern Andaman Sea remain less well-documented compared to surface studies, particularly regarding the relative roles of monsoonal forcing and remotely forced equatorial waves. This study investigated the dominant vertical variability of temperature, salinity, and zonal–meridional currents in the eastern Andaman Sea using validated daily CROCO model outputs from 2015 to 2019. EOF and PSD analyses were applied along the east–west (7.014°N) and north–south (96.45°E) transects to identify the leading modes of variability and their characteristic timescales. Model validation against the observed sea surface temperature and sea surface height demonstrated strong agreement (correlation > 0.9), supporting the reliability of the simulated subsurface fields. The EOF modes reveal that temperature and salinity variability are primarily controlled by seasonal and semiannual monsoon cycles, whereas current variability exhibits strong semiannual and intraseasonal signals. Spectral analyses indicated significant intraseasonal peaks (~30–90 days), consistent with the influence of remotely forced equatorial Kelvin and Rossby waves propagating into the Andaman Sea. Overall, these results highlight the combined influence of monsoon-driven circulation, regional connectivity, and remote equatorial forcing in regulating the vertical structure and temporal variability of the eastern Andaman Sea
Spatial modeling of whale shark protection using the marxan method in Saleh Bay, West Nusa Tenggara
Saleh Bay is a recurring aggregation area for whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). This study applied the Marxan decision-support tool to identify spatial conservation priorities based on whale shark sighting records and selected environmental and anthropogenic proxies, without explicitly modeling habitat suitability or preference. The inputs included sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a concentration, whale shark occurrences, fishing net distribution, and indicators of human activities. Three zoning scenarios, with increasing conservation targets, were evaluated. The scenario with the highest target identified a core priority area of 102,831.29 ha (50.13% of the study area), exceeding that of the lower-target scenarios. The resulting priority zones reflect the spatial patterns of whale shark aggregation and associated environmental conditions under the current observation data. These findings are intended to inform marine spatial planning by providing a precautionary basis for conservation decision making while accommodating existing coastal uses

Set against the backdrop of warlord conflicts, the work portrays the absurd and despicable conduct of Mr. Pan, a primary school principal, during his flight from turmoil, thereby crafting a quintessential character archetype. This figure underwent a historical evolution from criticism to empathy before gradually becoming symbolized—a process and its symbolic attributes form the core of this thesis. This study focuses on three key questions: how the author encoded the “Mr. Pan” symbol, how its symbolic meaning evolved, and what drove this evolution. Through close textual analysis, it explores the factors shaping this transformation and deepens our understanding of the logic behind the creation and interpretation of Mr. Pan as a classic literary symbol
Emotional Intelligence, Self-Esteem, and Organizational Commitment: The Role of Extraversion Personality Trait in a Moderated Mediation Analysis
This study investigates whether self-esteem functions as a mediator influenced by the personality trait of extraversion in the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment within public sector organizations. A total of 196 employees from two local authorities in Peninsular Malaysia were selected through systematic random sampling. Validated instruments were used to measure emotional intelligence, self-esteem, extraversion, and organizational commitment. Data were analysed using hierarchical regression and bootstrapping to test for moderated mediation effects. The findings confirm that emotional intelligence significantly predicts organizational commitment, reinforcing its role as a vital psychological asset in the workplace. However, the interaction effects between emotional intelligence and extraversion, as well as between self-esteem and extraversion, were not statistically significant. This suggests that self-esteem operates as an independent mediator, unaffected by extraversion levels. These results challenge conventional assumptions that personality traits must moderate psychological pathways in organizational behavior. Instead, they highlight the autonomous influence of emotional intelligence and self-esteem in shaping employee attitudes. The study offers practical implications for human resource development, advocating for interventions that prioritize emotional and psychological growth over personality profiling. In emotionally demanding work environments, fostering emotional intelligence and self-worth may be key to sustaining employee commitment and organizational resilience
Identification of solid N
Context. Only six molecules containing an N-O bond are detected in the gaseous phase of the interstellar medium. One of them is nitrous oxide (N2O), which was unsuccessfully searched for in solid form since the launch of the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) mission. The observational capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) present the possibility of identifying solid interstellar N2O.
Aims. We aim to identify nitrous oxide in open JWST spectra of interstellar ices toward a sample of Class 0, 0/I, and flat protostars using the relevant laboratory mixtures of N2O-bearing interstellar ice analogs.
Methods. A set of laboratory infrared transmission spectra was obtained for the following mixtures: N2O:CO2 = 1:20, N2O:CO = 1:20, N2O:N2 = 1:20, N2O:CO2:CO = 1:15:5, and N2O:CO2:N2 = 1:15:13 at 10–23 K. A search for N2O in JWST NIRSpec spectra toward 50 protostars was performed by fitting the 4.44–4.47 μm (2250–2235 cm−1) NN-stretch absorption band with new laboratory mixtures of N2O-bearing ices.
Results. We claim the first secure identification of N2O in 16 protostars. The fitting results show that N2O is formed predominantly within the apolar layer of the ice mantles, which are rich in CO, CO2, and N2. The abundance of solid N2O is estimated at 0.2–2.1% relative to solid CO. We present the band strengths for N2O in the mixtures corresponding to the apolar layer. We also report the identification of the C-N stretch band at 4.42 μm (2260 cm−1), which we tentatively assign to HNCO, the simplest C-N bond carrier
Long-term evolution of cyclotron resonant scattering features in the accreting pulsar Vela X-1: A pulse-to-pulse approach
We investigated the long-term evolution of the cyclotron line energy, as well as the relationship between cyclotron line energy and luminosity in the high-mass X-ray binary Vela X-1, based on archival Swift/BAT monitoring from 2005 to 2024 and pulse-to-pulse analysis of nine NuSTAR observations from 2012 to 2024. Our results provide the first confirmation that the long-term decay of the harmonic line energy (Ecyc, H) in Vela X-1 has ended. We further report the first detection of a transient increase in Ecyc, H between 2020 and 2023, which suggests a sudden and significant change in the magnetic field configuration or accretion geometry. In addition, Ecyc, H shows slightly lower values at low luminosities and tends to flatten at higher luminosities, in the range of (0.13 − 1.21)×1037 erg s−1. The fundamental line energy (Ecyc, F) exhibits no significant variation with time or luminosity, remaining stable at approximately 25 keV
PSR J0537–6910: Exponential recoveries detected for 12 glitches
Context. Pulsar rotational glitches are unresolved increments of the rotation rate that sometimes trigger an enhancement of the spin-down rate. On occasion, the augmented spin-down decays gradually over days or months in an exponential manner. This is observed particularly after the largest glitch events. Glitches and their exponential recoveries are attributed to the presence of a neutron superfluid inside pulsars. The young pulsar PSR J0537−6910 exhibits the highest known glitching rate, with 60 events detected over nearly 18 years of monitoring.
Aims. Despite most PSR J0537−6910 glitches being large, only one exponential recovery has been reported, following its first discovered glitch. This is puzzling as pulsars of similar age, rotational properties, and glitching behaviour typically present significant exponential recoveries. We wish to understand if this is an intrinsic difference of PSR J0537−6910 or a detectability issue due, for example, to its high glitch frequency.
Methods. The full dataset, including recent NICER observations, was systematically searched for evidence of exponential relaxations. Each glitch was first tested for evidence of recovery across a broad range of trial timescales. Good candidates were further investigated by identifying the best recovery models with and without an exponential term, then comparing them using Bayesian evidence.
Results. We discovered six new glitches, bringing the total number of glitches in this pulsar to 66. Our search and selection criteria strongly indicate the presence of 11 additional, previously undetected, exponential recoveries. We provide updated glitch and timing solutions. Exponential recoveries were detected only for the largest glitches (Δν > 20 μHz), though not for all of them. The inferred exponential timescales vary between 4 and 37 d, with the decaying frequency increment being close to or below 1% of the total in general. We find that the second derivative of the spin frequency () can remain fairly stable across several glitches, and only some glitches are associated with persistent changes. In particular, tends to take its lowest values after glitches with exponential recoveries, corresponding to inter-glitch braking indices nig ∼ 6–9. On the other hand, following glitches without exponential recoveries – even large ones – tends to be higher, with varied values that typically lead to braking indices above 9 (inferred nig mostly clustered between 10 and 35)
