A Novel Scholar's Evaluation from the Perspective of Academic Equilibrium Value: A Case Study of Computer Science
Objective and fair scholar evaluation promotes academic engagement and ensures proper allocation of research resources. However, current evaluation methods face challenges such as insufficient consideration of disciplinary differences, over-reliance on publication output, neglect of low-cited papers, and limited discriminative power. This paper proposes an improved evaluation metric—the Academic Equilibrium Value index (AEV-index)—based on academic equilibrium value. By incorporating weights for publication and citation tiers and integrating average publication and citation levels within disciplines, the AEV-index aims to offer a more comprehensive and equitable assessment of scholarly performance. Using Scopus data from computer science conference papers (2012-2021) across the subfields of "Network and Information Security", "Computer Graphics and Multimedia", and "Artificial Intelligence", we weighted publications and citations to evaluate researchers' academic levels. The research findings indicate that: (i) The AEV-index enhances existing scholar evaluation metrics from multiple perspectives, providing a relatively reasonable and broadly applicable comprehensive evaluation index. (ii) The AEV-index is significantly correlated with traditional scholar evaluation indicators such as total publications, total citations, and the h-index, while also moderating disciplinary differences, thereby facilitating cross-disciplinary comparisons of academic influence. (iii) Additionally, the AEV-index mitigates the negative impact of low publication output, recognizes the value of low-cited but high-quality papers, and offers improved discriminative power, thereby addressing several limitations of existing evaluation metrics
Epidemic model with seasonality for avian influenza waves in humans
Control strategies and prevention of infectious illnesses are challenges faced by the healthcare systems. Infectious diseases are caused by organisms and can be transmitted through different ways, such as contact between individuals of the same species or interspecies (zoonotic diseases). One contagious viral disease is the avian influenza, known as bird flu, that infects wild birds, as well as domestic poultry. It can also contaminate some mammalian species and was detected in humans. Epidemiologic models have been used to study the transmission dynamics of bird flu. In this work, we analyse a model that describes the spread of a avian influenza from birds to humans. We consider a compartmental model in which the bird system is divided into susceptible and infected birds (SI), whilst the human system is separated into susceptible, infected and recovered (SIR). In addition, we substantially extend this model by including seasonal effects in the transmission rate of the system and investigate the behaviour of the model through the waves of infection. We uncover that depending on the parameters and initial conditions, the number of disease cases can be kept under control, as well as it is possible to observe even disease-free state. Our results show that the initial conditions play a crucial role in the number of avian influenza waves. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the seasonal forcing increases the infection numbers and induces a more complex dynamical behaviour
Ocytocine

Revitalization of the Tanjung Priok waterfront area
The Tanjung Priok area, as Jakarta's main port activity center and a major transportation hub, faces significant challenges related to environmental quality, traffic congestion, and urban spatial fragmentation. This study explores strategies to transform the area into a regenerative and livable built environment, with a focus on the integration of the port and railway station as a strategic step toward sustainable urban revitalization. A regenerative design approach aimed at achieving a high-quality, waterfront-oriented public realm is combined with the principles of transit-oriented development (TOD) to establish multimodal connectivity, inclusive public spaces, and adaptive green infrastructure. The research employs a two-fold methodology: a literature review and a case study of existing interventions in comparable port cities. The findings reveal that the physical and functional integration of transport nodes with the port area can enhance adjacent settlement areas, reduce environmental impacts, and reinforce the area's waterfront cultural identity through regeneration initiatives. In particular, adaptive reuse of underutilized docklands for linear parks, enhancement of pedestrian and cycling routes between the port terminal and Tanjung Priok Station, and implementation of green buffers along rail corridors and the waterfront promenade emerged as critical measures
Comparison of criteria weighting methods (AHP, WSM, EWM, Fuzzy AHP) for assessing student architectural drawings
Determining criterion weights is a crucial stage in the evaluation and decision-making process, especially in the context of architectural drawing assessment. Appropriate weight quality will ensure objectivity and fairness in the assessment. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparison between several commonly used weighting methods, namely the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Weighted Sum Model (WSM), Entropy Weight Method (EWM), and Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) in the context of assessing student architectural drawings. The research data was collected through the results of criteria assessments by five lecturers in the field of architecture on 20 samples of student architectural drawings. This data was then systematically processed using the four weighting methods. The results of the study show significant variations in the weight values produced by each method, which in turn have direct implications for the final assessment results and relative rankings between images. An in-depth analysis of these differences will provide insight into the characteristics, advantages, and limitations of each method in the context of assessments involving subjectivity and objectivity
Study of spatial and architectural transformation process in Tenganan Pegringsingan traditional village, Bali
Tenganan Pegringsingan Village, located in Manggis District, Karangasem Regency, on the eastern side of Bali, is renowned for its status as a Bali Aga village—a traditional mountainous settlement. Rich in cultural and natural tourism potential, the village has undergone significant transformation since being designated as a cultural tourism destination by the government. These changes are evident in the spatial arrangements and traditional architecture at various levels, including the macro village, banjar (community groups), and individual residential buildings. This research employs qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach, utilizing direct observation, in-depth interviews, and spatial and architectural mapping to gather data. The study aims to provide valuable insights into the management of tourism-oriented villages in Bali, particularly those rooted in traditional village structures. The findings are intended to support the preservation of cultural values while accommodating the evolving demands of the tourism sector
Developing a Validated Numerical Model of Granular Material Flow in a Heat Exchanger
This paper presents the development of a validated numerical model of granular material flowability in a heat exchanger using the DEM modelling in STAR-CCM+ software. The model is developed based on an experiment. The simulation model is validated qualitatively and quantitatively from experimental data. The comparison between the experimental and simulated velocities, velocity profiles and mass flowrates demonstrate a high degree of similarity. For instance, the percentage difference of mass flowrate between the experiment and simulation data is 5.61% and the maximum percentage difference of the particle velocity is 9.53% which reflects a reasonable level of agreement
Optimizing integrated supply planning in logistics: Bridging gaps for enhanced operational efficiency and strategic decision-making
In today’s volatile and interconnected markets, the ability to effectively integrate procurement, production, inventory, and distribution planning has become a defining capability of resilient supply chains. This study examines how organizations can optimize Integrated Supply Planning (ISP) through advanced technologies and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and strategic agility. Using a qualitative multi-case study design, five organizations of medium to large size were analysed alongside semi-structured interviews with supply chain professionals across the FMCG, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Findings reveal that successful ISP requires more than technological adoption; it demands organizational alignment, leadership commitment, and a data-driven culture. Companies integrating AI-enabled forecasting and ERP systems achieved superior synchronization and decision-making visibility, whereas firms constrained by legacy systems faced operational silos and forecasting inaccuracies. The study contributes a conceptual optimisation framework highlighting digital integration, collaboration, and continuous improvement as key enablers of supply chain excellence. Overall, the research confirms that ISP is both a technological and human process, requiring dynamic coordination across organizational functions to sustain competitive advantage and resilience in uncertain environments
